 You know the psychological deep impact of very depressing news in Canada can have a great toll in every human's physical and mental state but it seems the bad news never stop and to add depressing news... the Canadian female national soccer team had been defeated in the world stage in Australia. However, McIntosh, the 16 year old Canadian Olympic swimmer garnered medals in swimming and would be competing in next year's Olympic Games 2024 in France.

Good news. Bad news. The wildfires are always about bad news. 

It's almost like it is the year of wildfires and for what? After the long pandemic of 2020 to 2021to never ending pandemonium of the rumor mill of the population explosion and wonder why did the pandemic had helped population explosion in certain demographic area? That the wildfires can also add the population to exceed? It should be reduction or deduction but what is happening is addition and multiplication process is being revealed.

There is that mathematical problem going on. It's kind of mindboggling crazy! That the former  Immigration Minister is now the Minister of Housing and the irony to all of those who are now accepted in Canada by the millions will have the process of relocation. Whew! Yup, if there are millions of new immigrants, refugees, homeless people, add the tourists, evacuees from natural disasters brought on by Mother Nature (wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes) all these humans will have to search for new homes. Who can afford though? 

High inflation, the high cost of living still is the major problem in Canada, actually a CRISIS, it is a devastating extreme economic crisis felt by everyone, by everybody... 

But you know Canadians are good in showing "they can survive."

Wildfires are just part of the "planet of the apes" aping for more news just to spread the world over. Who believe these wildfires anymore? It's almost like the biggest joke ever.

Growing Old Is Mandatory

 Actually when I'm in the mood to cook I will cook the whole day as if there's a special feast and as if there is a competition to complete the day. Thus, only if I am in the best of mood and the special ingredients for such menu is available. Always take note of the availability of raw materials, the special ingredients to make and create special dishes, otherwise cooking and baking is just not a glamorous task at all. You get tired, frustrated, sweaty and greasy being the cook at the kitchen. 

Then the house smells food! It is what it is...You wished your home smells like fragrant of scented ylang-ylang or sweet jazmine but once all the spices of curry, onions and garlic blend it with the natural air  inside the home then the food smells also blends in with your body, clothes and everything inside the house even if there is exhaust fan or the doors and windows are open for ventilation. What more in an open  living room-kitchen style setting... 

Then you thought a backdoor barbecue grill would be appropriate at summer time only then to realize that you can no longer do that nor have a picnic bbq, camp fire nor an open bbq grill outside of your comfort zone because of the fire ban or the hazards of such due to many uncontrollable wildfires happening in BC, Alberta, and NS. 

So, cooking inside the house is safer of course. You can't go wrong with stove & oven inside your own home.

Deep frying  egg-rolls too easy on hot boiling cooking oil after all the chopping and slicing of the most important ingredients as stuffing for this very unique Eastern snack food. Too many stuffing: garlic, onions, spring onions cilantro, shrimps, cabbage, carrots, beansprout, ground pork. Chili sauce for dipping. Good enough.

Then we also have congee or lugaw. It would be so good if there's sprinkle of saffron but saffron is very expensive. Slices of ginger is a good alternative though for saffron.

Butternut squash? Looks like they are...

I was thinking of having them cooked with crabs and or shrimps with coconut milk.

However, seafoods are really very costly here in Canada.

I decided that it's better to just bake the butternut squash and this is the result: Cake

Not bad. It's really delicious according to my husband it's great with cinnamon and vanilla in it.

I don't know what to cook or bake next or whatever mood I will be happy, sad or just feeling mellow.

In a time period of neighbors who are experiencing uncertainty and discomfort and all the annoying bad news, the wrath of wildfires, and global boiling (not warming anymore) it's hard to concentrate on blogging. I first thought wont blog for a week because there are so many things that upset me. At least the husband's personal health problem (cardiac cathetherization procedure) already done and he's feeling better with the result but still has to take meds. I think that's a normal phase of life for the olds, just like you and me...old people! lol

 Why suddenly the weather pattern has changed yesterday? What happened? Did the fireworks and cloud-seeding effect had helped for the low precipitation? Or it's because it is closer to month of August and Autumn is fast approaching with a vengeance?

Too much wildfires not only in Canada but also in Greece. Their wildfires shown the evacuation of inhabitants in the island and had those thousands of tourists gathered in a gym. The extreme high heat has caused so much heatwave  above 40 degrees Celsius. The cause of fire in Greece is unknown to me but during ancient period of time, the cause of such ravishing wildfires are caused by volcanic activity. While wildfires in Canada are caused mostly by lightning strikes. You wonder how many lightnings are without storms. Usually ligthning strikes are followed by rainfall or it will rain however in those lightnings no rain had fallen whatsoever. So very strange indeed. Maybe they are ghost fires not wildfires like it is an invisible curtain just for cover to something inevitable like "graft and corruption." Who knows? Clear-cutting? Annihilation movie? The vanishing? The NAZI resurrection?

Well, I'm glad that it is cooler (15 C) today  than in the past from Springtime to days ago. My husband and I don't really like stress and pressure because we have hypertension.

However, there are problems other people had on us that we cannot control. Tuesday today and tomorrow is Wednesday. I hope it's a pleasant day today no matter what. Please let it cool down to 10 Celsius.

 Heard of the DEEPFAKE SCAM AD?

I wonder what kind of deep fake? So deep? lol. We knew that there are so many fakes, fakers, fraud and fraudsters out there. People you don't know, strangers trying to lure you into investing into their business or the crypto currency or sometimes bad guys selling you some odd stuff. But there are deepfakes that are almost real as in the the photos or images on the other side of the screen of your computer is somebody you know asking you to help them. Problems with money. They asked you to send money for them in remittances because they need it for emergency and turned out it was just one of those scams. 

Weird right?

About the deepfake scam told by newscaster who happened to be the person used to lure for the ad so that you can invest is one of those scams in the internet. BEWARE! The use of AI images of famous movie stars or television personality being used to attract people from investing your finances in them. 

Wonder why criminality is so common now more than ever?

It's because the standard of living in our time is super duper HIGH. High inflation. High cost of living and nobody can afford except those who are ? hmmm...who can afford the stratosphere high of living? When even those millionaires and billionaires have problem with tax evasion? They can't pay their taxes. Even University and College professors or teachers cannot afford to own houses. Renting a house one bedroom house could cost an average $2,000/month and utilities not included. Who are not bothered about the high cost of living are drug cartels and mj plantation owners. It seems like they never run out of money. 

I think the rest of the population will just join the adrenaline rush to just join AMAZING RACE and try those death defying stunts or be ALONE in the wilderness as in desperate times for desperate people and some depressed humans will just join the global climate activists and had free ride to jail time as in free board and lodging in prisons. 

A political reshuffle of the current administration in Canadian government hopefully will help change the economic downturn and maybe some smart people will eventually showed up and can perform their job properly and efficiently. How many reshuffle to make things right? A re-shuffle is not the only way. That those government representatives should have enough experience for the occupation and responsibility otherwise, the whole population need "new leadership" because it get so tiring and people are so fed up as in if Mother Nature is showing all the doom and gloom, it's time to replace a country's leader. You cannot be liberal all the time. Try BLUE CONSERVATIVE...  Ch-ch- Changes...

Movie Time

 Looked like I am not allowed to blog something that deals with my location or what could be that block my blog post? Weird or what...I AM NOT AFRAID to divulge my location. It's just that the robotic feature of my blogs in Google helped me become ANONYMOUS. Wow! Who's getting the credit of my work? It can't be Dan Brown. Aha- ahahahaha! J/K

Whatever. Getting clue less. lol.

What is there to blog now aside from the normal happenings. It's not always that I have to blog about the food we cooked and baked or what we eat just like those bloggers who keep blogging every food they ate or where restaurants and fast foods they'd visited and or many places they traveled.

A journey to the thousand worlds through movies...

I could blog again about the latest movie I watched recently. It was a Chinese movie starring Jackie Chan entitled DRAGON BLADE. It was an epic drama/action/adventure movie depicting how the ancient Romans and the Chinese Mongolians had met in the desert and how they had a truce and decided to build fortress after joined forces to fight against Tiberius. It was a great story of friendship, loyalty, patriotism, courage, valor and revenge. Total dramatic sequences and a lot of actions fighting scenes in the most remarkable way. You'll enjoy every minute watching this movie as in very entertaining to the core. 

Well, that's it for now. By the way, may I advise you guys not to do facetime all the time. The bluelight on your computer can do more harm to your eyes (vision) can cause glaucoma, cataract and worse of it all > blindness. Take care of your vision. Ciao.🙏

Bungee Jumping To Retrieve The Message

 Who the hell will go bungee jumping from the bridge just to retrieve a message and jump again if they can't see the message sign board hanging from the bridge? 

Well, that's what happened during the filming of the latest AMAZING RACE CANADA 2023 contest last Tuesday night's edition/episode (Whistler, BC - Pemberton's)

The message to be retrieved: WILL YOU MARRY ME?

All the bungee jumper contestants had to ask the holder of the Amazing Race cue card the same question and the holder has to answer. 

WEIRD right? That's why two contestants didn't follow the direction, didn't jump or bungee jump and decided to just ask for penalty. Pressure tactic. ? Next the wedding reception setting in a ranch. The two black guys once again decided to choose the penalty. It was not an elimination round so they were not booted off and they still are in the game to continue the race.

I don't know for sure  the contest rules and regulations but the question is sort of part of the game in the Amazing Race. You know for sure that some of the participants are risk-takers the way they obliged to bungee jump from the bridge. I don't know what else they are about to do in the next race but some of them are sky divers or parachutists so they defy gravity and had known to living the edge of adrenaline while the rest of them are sort of neophytes when it comes to action. Two pairs of contestants were already eliminated first were Eddie and his wife (they hate pancakes! LOL).

Palm Payment

 PALM PAYMENT: A Science-Fiction?

Heard about that paying for goods and services in the future would be using your palm only? A machine that scans your palm to pay for your bought items in department stores and supermarket. Wow! How convenient that could be eh? You don't need to use cash, debit card or credit cards. 

Too good to be true that this process of payment is now on trial in leading supermarket and stores in Canada and the US. It is experimental, not mandatory yet. You could try it if you want.

Some people were asked about it for the trial and they really obliged to find out how it works. However, there are few who are critic of such process or method of payment.

In Revelation (Holy Bible): stated that only with the 666 symbol or mark of the beast  on their foreheads are allowed to buy and sell or have the purchasing power. Sounds like a myth. Then in the movie IN TIME starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, its on their arms showing digitalized number in digits about their life span in years and when they purchase any commodity the life span is deducted and they only have few years to live and when it reached to zero then it's their ultimate end and they died. How to increase your life span is knowing who is the mastermind and the inventor of such machine and that's how the story complicate things up.

Would you be willing paying for your goods and services through your palm? Before you say yes better investigate first on its advantage and disadvantage on your mental and physical healthwise nobody is smarter than machine or AI. Is the palm payment a government infused or endorsed method of payment? Are they to use verichip inside your palm so that it can be scanned? Is it safe? Too many million questions...

Thursday Rants

 So many things that happened lately despite of the hot weather we are experiencing as life continues to unfold one by one. My housework first priority such as cooking meals, housekeeping, laundry and ironing clothes. Husband's the only one who goes to supermarket shopping for groceries only the most important items such as food, soft-drinks, milk, cooking oil, bath soap and few essentials. He didn't bring the list of items I want him to purchase as it always...he gets in the supermarket and out right away not wanting to stay for an hour, not even for more than 30 minutes. He likes shopping by himself because he can control the purchase. Husband is a very frugal man. It's common knowledge that Canadian men are just like that. He's not a Filipino, not Asian he is true 100% Canadian. Canadian men are stingy! LOL. Ha ha! That's what some other people are saying. They save and protect their money $$$$ like its the only last money they have. I think its because they worked so hard before even reaching age 18 and so many of them even if they are born from well to do families, still they have to work earn a living and provide for their own education. It's the Canadian way. Americans do have the same life style. It's only in the Philippines where parents have to work so hard to give their kids the education they deserve but because that's the trend and its because children in the Philippines usually make a promise to their parents or sometimes it has something to do with pride and status quo. Education is like the "wealth" of every family. While other families think the real wealth is literally "financial stability" and the amount of money they have including properties: house & lot, jewelries,  or plantation or farm lands.

Daughter and I watched an action movie: PLANE starring the versatile actor Gerard Butler. If you like him in the movies: Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, etc. he's that good to be true in his latest flick PLANE. The story revolves around this Scottish pilot Torrance who co-pilot with a newbie HK assistant pilot aboard a small plane with 14 passengers. The plane had mechanical difficulty after being caught in severe extreme typhoon along the coast of Philippine archipelago (truth be told it was filmed in Puerto Rico according to the news). It seems like you know what will happen as in very predictable as they showed so much of the important scenes on trailer and that spoiled the movie but after watching the whole story of the movie, it made you think something is weird about the "crash." Is it really crash landing or it's a dangerous military mission? Well, it's just that a moral lesson that evil wont last and there's always somebody out there willing to fight and justice will always prevail.

Never Give Up

 Well it's getting hot again as if we are being baked and what will become of us? Cookies? Ha ha! I never ever thought that Canada can become a desertland at summer time. It never occurred to me nor even the original inhabitants of Canada. Supposedly, Canada being at the northern part of the world should always have the temperate zone not too hot, not too cold seasons all year round. Supposedly and expected-ly is until the global warming sets in. The global climate change. Could it be that the wars in Ukraine and Russia contributed to the global warming or the nuclear explosions and fusions add up to the inconvenient truth?

The Earth, the only planet of life is getting older and getting wrinkled. Billions of years ago had passed and that giant molten rock that provided us the living life and now our planet that shelter us from ravishing ultra-violet rays and all other cosmic effects in outer space is now getting older day by day, year after years. The humans which is us are getting older too. We are being suffocated from all the toxicity of what nature has to offer and that also include the erroneous and mistakes humans had done with their environment. You are toxic and the environment is also toxic. The toxicity that surround us will someday lead us astray and we are about to get trap into this web of life. Adaptation is the key if you can live to survive. 

You are here on planet Earth and what you deal with your life you get it. Strive, stay strong and keep on living and never give up.

It is not in my vein to be vile, wicked and evil and I don't have vanity as such hindi ako pasosyal! Everyday Is A New Beginning

 Quite cooler this morning which is much appreciated and wishing it should be that way and must be cooler below 18 C or at least the favorable of 15 Celsius is too great to be true, honestly...certainly is because that's the Canadian weather temperature at summer time supposedly is.

 Baguio (summer capital of Philippines usually has below 20 Celsius temperature). Hong Kong's temperature is almost to that same temperate zone. 

It could probably due to global warming situation that somehow the climate is at its tragic phase of "reconstructuring" or because of those "wars" that never end. The positive and negative charges and all the mechanics, dynamics and compositions of minerals and other elemental mixtures can cause such global climate changes. Blame it on the stupid wars and the people who support such idiotic wars.

There are other kind of war. War in sports. At least the battle in sports is somewhat different, nobody dies. The winner gets the award , praises and the loser? The losers tried to be sporty as they promised to do it better next time. 

Well there are too many to complain just like those humans on television networks as they are mostly complainers of everything from high cost of living, unemployment, employed in low wages occupation, higher rent and mortgage payments and other unaffordable stuff seem to never end. I think that's the normal human life's struggles. While most humans who are affluent or overtly rich have other problems such as obesity and ailments without cure. Nobody is perfect. Nobody is truly happy. Maybe happiness is just superficial or try to fake it until you can no longer stand your own faking. lol Hey, laughter is the best medicine. One day you are happy, the next day you are sad. One day you are rich the next day you are poor as a rat. 

The promise of everyday is a new beginning is always that mode to look forward to...

Homelessness

 How long you have to support another country's war? Do you really have to?

If your answer is for as long as it takes then you are part of the problem.

To prolong the war means you are into graft and corruption. You don't really have a solution and no strategy whatsoever as in the motive is purely suicidal or come what may and it is stupid. Think about it.

Some countries used WAR as the way to keep aid pouring in like crazy. For the crooks it would take for longest period of time then that's a SCAM WAR. Scammers!!!!!!!!!!!!

NATO and US President Biden's strategy is much better as in giving a timeline, condition and ultimatum if ever. If not... then mankind will suffer from all the toxicity and contamination of all what the war in Ukraine is happening as it continues day 502.

What's really the problem? This is how I understand the story:

Chernobyl nuclear catastrophic explosion in 1986 had millions of Ukrainians fled Ukraine and moved to Russia, Poland, Romania and other adjacent countries for safety. Then in year  2022 which is 502 DAYS ago, news about NATO and its allied forces to do military exercises along the border of Ukraine & Russia. Negative implications set in and some bad journalists were spreading rumors about possible invasion by Russians. ? To the confused state of mind by Pres. Putin who was at that time had meeting with Pres. Macron of France this is after the Olympic Games in China. News networks who were against Russians or upset over Russian delegations were the ones into the spread of invasion. I believe in the CBC News Network in their newscasting as their journalists had to dig deeper behind the lines. They went to Ukraine and found that out that the people behind those Russian tanks are actually Ukrainians. They bombed their own bridge! It's not the Russians who bombed the bridge. Who are Russians and who are Ukrainians? They are the same people! They are different people if they have to wave the flag. You know what I mean? Are you confused? Ukrainians from Russia want to come home to Ukraine! Millions of Ukrainians living in Russia since 1986 and they want to go home to Ukraine. Is that invasion? Tell those world leaders to watch BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI and learn from it. Or stop copying stories from MISSION IMPOSSIBLE (movies and its sequels) of Tom Cruise.o

If Prigoshyn wants to go, he can GO just like EVENT HORIZON. He's such an actor. Those bad actors should just STOP messing up the whole world.

Let say 2 millions of Ukrainians fled Ukraine to Russia...how many Ukrainians in Russia are they now in the year 2023?

Look  at how many millions of Filipinos in Canada. ONE MILLION FILIPINOS and counting.

How many people are homeless in Canada? That's what it is if somebody is willing to accommodate millions of refugees as if he is a saint or warden for prisoners what Canada is known for actually? Timbuktu or Alcatraz? Canada is becoming a country of  dumping site for refugees, POW's, war criminals and other non-documented individuals. My God I didn't come here to Canada to have all those disguised disgusting criminals- entities to be welcomed in Canada unless if this country is actually PRISON. lol. FOR GOD SAKE!

Maybe Canada is actually PRISON and your Prime Minister is a warden. Ha ha ha! Jokers! OMG! I hope and wish the liars will soon be honest with themselves. Why all the lying and deception?

 

 

Positive & Negative Charges

 Quite chilly today at 14 degrees Celsius only. Summer's over? Wish it is over 'cuz I don't really like hot weather. The truth about Canada is a cooler, colder country with warm bodies.

I don't know if the news are true or not but it showed on news network about flash floods in NY, Vermont and in India. Jun-July are the months of typhoons in Asian countries but storms in the US? You wished the storms are here in Canada so that they can put off wildfires right away. Anyway, rainfall always had fallen on the wrong side of the planet. Darn it stupid rain.

You know somehow that a cloud-seeding approach should have been tried... earlier. However, maybe wildfires in Canada are somewhat a calamity and disaster beneficial for some other purposes known to the original inhabitants of Canada as in "learn to live with it and adaptation to the habitat" known to be wild, free and unexpectedly uncertain and inconvenient. Be part of nature and be prepared to be within its nature greatest potential of existence.

Live and conquer. Live to prosper.

Ask not what your country can do for you.

What can you do for your country? ASK THAT TO YOURSELF.

Changing the climate? I know so many are so furious about climate change. It was changed by Einstein the genius already before WWII. Atomic particles could help change the climate and the positive (+) and negative (-) charges are detrimental to everyone's health and you wonder why so many people are suffering of cancer and other health woes.

 CLUSTER MUNITION?

What the hell is that? If  you are watching the latest news in the US, the "cluster munition" was mentioned in the news network. Don't really know if that strategy is the best solution or strategy to stop the war in Ukraine. Many countries and their leaders banned such 'cluster bombs' for whatever reason that landmines should also not be allowed to be used in wars. It's getting weird out there. I don't really know if the news are true or not or maybe I just heard it wrong.

The problem with cluster-munition is doesn't know its target as in friends and foes could be fatally hit. Civilians could end up in the casualty and what else it could do? If its not detonated within that period of time, it is like a landmine that can do harm in the future. The war has ended and after 10 to 20 years those bombs still laying on the ground waiting to cause more danger. Bomb disposal experts are not deplorable, maybe you can use rats to run around whatever is lying on the ground to detect such landmines and cluster if there's any. 

Now the question of whether to send cluster-munition to Ukraine? Think about it not only twice. Or think that maybe there's no other solution other than leave that country alone and move on. Try the moon and Neptune. T

 Marathon. That could be the marathon event happening in UK. Torch being passed so fast as in clustermunition... wth.

Up To The Limit

 IT is not because your language was an interpretation of the jabberwocky or your choice of language came from demonic words and just because of your high falutin language you are considered highly educated. Not really!

I admire some journalists, writers out there who are more than prolific, versatile and without a doubt had higher usage of lexicon, grammar and what else could they be learning if their original mother tongue is in English as in that's their original medium of communication at home, in schools, university and in their country of origin. You don't have to be stuck-up so snobby as if you are the only one who can speak and write English. 

Bilingualism is evil. Hmm, I would like to believe it but then the benefit of having two languages is much of help, really it is beneficial if you are a writer. It's the multilingualism that is the complication to everything as it gets complicated and challenging. You need a thesaurus. 

For some people to understand jabberwockers who think that they are different from the rest of the norm or majority of those who follow the correct sentences of using subject and predicate with the matching adjectives and adverbs including the correct grammar in overall composition of  a theme. It's different when you are just texting a friend though. A friend always understand wrong grammar however the grammar nazi do not for they expect so much more. They expect perfection.

Well, you can add extraordinary words based from experienced linguistics out there and if you're that super annoyed at how simple, boring and low grade your words are try the canterbury tales, the creepy crawlers of the crypt perhaps try norse mythology. Some words are just wishy-washy witchy sometimes and you think that they are made up by witches and wizards. Hey, those nonsense words could be cryptic eh? lol It could put a magic spell and you end up a toad in a pond full of thick slimy green pea soup. Yuck.

I happened to read a plea sort of from a freelance writer and why they were on strike. It was thought provoking. It's almost like a discouragement for all "would be writers" out there. Anyway, just like those painters, novelists, ghost writers, media people who are not paid for their work... that's right you guys should FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS! 

Anyway, what's worth fighting for here at the BLOGGER website that offers FREE SPACE for blogwriters like us? It's free and I am grateful, thankful that I can blog to my heart and mind's desire for as long as I want. I don't know what's going on but when I'm blogging I can go on and on never want to stop as in have to write, type, type.... I am becoming a robot that keeps on typing. Strange indeed. I could go on and on never get so tired.  Then I remember have to stop for now or I'll have nosebleed.

There is a limit to what we can do as human.

Time Is GOLD

 Happened to see an ad about a Filipino Asian store selling so many "snack food" (sitsirya) and few of those stuff are my favorites. They also sell Goldilocks cakes and pastries and ube ice cream. Wow! I showed the Facebook site to my husband and he was delighted to see that they also have mango ice cream.

I haven't been there to that Filipino Asian store before but would like to drop by or visit that store maybe when I go shopping next time. It's just that when it comes to shopping, my family is always shopping at Superstore or Walmart. A Filipino Asian store is a "specialty" store that sells specialized items from Philippines or other Asian goods. There are three (3) Filipino Asian stores in the city where I live, of more than 35,000 population of different nationalities but mostly Canadian born of course. Maybe more than 200 Filipino families, maybe not so sure and maybe the population of the city is already over 50,000. 

Actually, Campbell River was once known as sister city of Ishikari of Japan. No wonder there are thousands of Japanese families living here. When I first arrived here in this city, while we were somewhere along South island Highway and there was that "garage sale/moving sale" sign on the road and we stopped and search for that address which was nestled on a modern richy condominium overlooking the ocean. We're looking to purchase furniture or anything that the movers are selling. I met the man who was a Japanese, a real nice business man who closed down his art shop business from downtown area just across the Museum. He told me that the city he grew up with is no longer Japan. What?! I was sort of confused about what he said. It made me think deeper of what he meant by what he said. Is Campbell River > JAPAN? Weird enough thinking maybe because of the scenery and the ambience and also the community of Japanese families in the area. Anyway, purchased a Japanese art framed from him, then some set of Japanese frames for my artworks. Also bought few Japanese plates and table cloth. Furniture? Looked like we're too late with our arrival as there were too many buyers ahead of us. Before year 2000 garage sale and moving out  sale are the best trends way back then including Auction and trading ventures. Business people from Auction House would be there ahead of anybody else to get into the most pricey items for profit. MOVING OUT SALE was common during and at the time of the pulp mill and saw mill's closure. Quite sad, right?

The city where I live has more Japanese and Chinese descent or ancestry or what you call it... as in they were here ahead of any other ethnic groups. The Filipino community had regain its strength only during after the millennium or after Year 2000. Only one Filipino Asian store that time period. More Filipinos are visible in Community Living establishment because of their occupation in the Health Care Service as nurses and caregivers for the disabled and old seniors. 

The AGING POPULATION in Canada and around the world...where to go from here? I am not getting any younger and so is my husband. Living comfortably and conveniently is a thing of the past. While you are still younger then do what is best and in conformity with the norm and to top it all never to waste your time on non-essential things. TIME IS GOLD.

Survival Of The Fittest

 Everyone needs happy ending but what life is all about? 

Life is an everyday struggle for most of us. Everyday is a another new day whether it is bright, gloomy, sad or happy. I think every day is a challenge. The high cost of living  still is rocketsky-high and only the midgets don't grow up.

Once again, AMAZING RACE CANADA premiered last night, hosted by Olympic athlete champ Jon Montgomery in the race around the world with 10 contestants from different provinces of Canada. One team looks familiar and yeah, it was team Tyler & Kayleen. Tyler the paralympic Olympic champ is one of the contestants together with his team mate will compete with the rest of other teams. The race started in Winnipeg, Manitoba then to Calgary, Alberta. Last night's pit stop had Kat & Ty leading the race. The two female wrestlers were eliminated on this first episode of Amazing Race CANADA 2023. 

 Risky, death defying stunts await contestants for AMAZING RACE, they knew all these stuff all along but  they like the adrenaline rush and they are highly competitive. They are survivors!

Well, where in the world you can earn quarter of a million dollars in just barely a month? Nobody owns that amount of money just for being an employee in a white collared job. With the minimum wage of just $16.75/hour working for 6 hours give you only $100.50/day. Then you must have another job that pays the same in another workforce. Then, sometimes you get to work on seasonal and if you qualify. It is not always a guaranty that if you have qualifications you get to be employed right away. It depends on references or sometimes if the employer really like your attitude or depends on your ability to withstand the total bs inside the company. 

Why some "players" would rather survive alone in the wilderness together with the wild beasts by themselves with few camera and equipment and few tools to build their cabin and hunt for food or fish on the frigid lake. Surviving alone in the popular television series ALONE has better higher prize of $500,000. Too risky, very dangerous that 4 survivalist champs already tapped out. 

I think this is what's all about living in Canada... SURVIVE TO LIVE! lol

I know, so many of you fell in love with the lead actor because of the themesong. LOL.

Well, just finished watching the whole story and I was impressed, moved and touched by their performance. It was a goofy love story turned into much beautiful, deeper meaning of love and understanding between two individuals, at least it's fun, normal and eventually a happy ending.

 Yesterday, today what's the difference? 

It was Saturday yesterday and my family just stayed at home as usual. We're used to the same old celebration of Canada Day. Nothing special. Nothing fancy. Actually because of the wildfires and the hazy smokes and the malady of those disasters put us in "red alert" most especially those who are in the wildfire rage spots. Fireworks were banned in so many parts of Canada however, fireworks along the river, ocean or fireworks on barge within containment of water, or fluvial fireworks are allowed. 

Canada Day celebration on its 156th birthday... is it happy or just plain boring? Looks like more fun and enjoyable for newcomers or new Canadians who had their oath taking or pledge allegiance. More like complicated oath taking  allegiance to more than one leader or more than government. I remember what former PM Harper had said: Bilingualism is evil and multilingualism is inferno? LOL.

Would you like allegiance to France & Britain and still have allegiance to First Nations and should you therefore stay allegiance to one flag, one country, one leader? What is a Prime Minister and one Canadian flag for?  If that's the case just follow the old testament and follow and obey the TEN COMMANDMENTS. 

Then you wonder why there are PATRIOTS. 

Yeah, that's why the next few days is FOURTH OF JULY.

And you wonder why Dr. Jose P. Rizal became a HERO.

HISTORY KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF.

For whatever reason, the Chinese community also had their "recollection" of their old ancient sentiments and for whatever reason their race were excluded in the acceptance into the migration to Canada that they are forced to pay head tax worth $500 each. Long time ago story. Hmm, don't know why when the Chinese people or migrants were here in Canada since 18th Century (maybe even earlier as they were actually in History since the Pharaohs, since at the time of the Exodus) and they were the first industrialists, first railroad workers (steel was imported in China for God sake!) and first restaurant and shop owners and every community in Canada, remote villages their Chinese restaurants are the most sough after and for every business they have,  Filipinos  also are visible in those business establishments. I don't know why the Chinese people were bullied, harassed and were looked down upon as degraded during that period of time. Weird right? I think its more of a misunderstanding or just that language barrier and what could be? Too smart for comfort? Too clever or just that White Race and Yellow Race are just very highly competitive. Superiority complex. Ha ha ha! Guys please let us settle now or regret later. Is EINSTEIN a true real White race? Is Jesus Christ a white skinned human being? Are you white skinned because of too much chlorine in your water pipes or you live inside the swimming pool? Or the gene pool was chlorinated? Sorry for being so blunt.

So our Saturday was spent on watching news on TV and watching movie. Then heard in the news that Alberta had that huge twister that brought hailstones and had destroyed houses but no injury happened. Alberta is frequently been visited by tornadoes but it is unusual to have it on the 1st of July. Yey. Looks like they're happy about it. lol.
