Boiling Hot Soup For Springtime

 Cooking! Cooking, cooking up a storm...

I've been cooking on my days off from "dialysis." I have to do something right to keep me busy? I hate being idle  because I am not born lazy. I had just finished the second part of spring cleaning at home. The next spring cleaning project maybe  next week when the sun shines brightly enough and when the weather temp. is up to 20 C. 

For the meantime...

Hot boiling pork/bokchoy soup with tomatoes and onions.

Hot, boiling soup of medium  sized wonton dumplings, egg noodles, veggies with chicken broth

Lasagna for those who don't like what I cooked. lol

Holy Week: Holy Thursday

 Waking up to a stormy weather condition don't want me to get up from my bed early this morning and who would anyway because it's another depressing day. More depressing news on TV news networks such as the latest victim of cancer is Princess Catherine of UK. That's impossible right?! How could that be? I don't believe it but when the Princess had an appearance for the public to see on television her message about her ordeal and personal plea for privacy while she's undergoing chemotherapy. 

Then the Baltimore bridge collapse: Francis Scott key bridge in Baltimore, Maryland USA collapsed yesterday at dawn when it was accidentally struck by container/cargo ship Dali (Singaporean cargo ship) containing hazardous materials. Hard to believe, right? A concrete bridge made of concrete materials, iron and steel would collapse just like that when hit by cargo ship. The cargo ship has lesser damage. Only one person survives. Who will survive from the cold  waters, and from inside the vehicles if they were trapped from the fallen bridge down at the bottom of the sea. Terrible! 

Is there a beautiful, wonderful story out there? Nothing? 

Yeah, anything so gorgeous, lovely or beautiful is not a breaking news.

Today is Holy Thursday. Holy Week. A week of fasting for the devoted Roman Catholics. In the olden days when devotees attended Ash Wednesday rite and had received the + ash on their foreheads, loyal devotees should or must follow restrictions of not to consume any kind of meat (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for the rest of the Lent or Holy Week. You are not allowed to watch any movies with coarse language, nudity, or violent movies. Devotees should recite/sing the Passion playbook. In certain provinces in Philippines, a passion play is staged and the procession penitencia leading to the calvary (hillside) where staged crucifixion is held. Three men (volunteers for the event) will be "nailed" to the cross. You'll ask if those men will die? The answer is NO. 

Then Easter Sunday marks the redemption of fasting and you can eat anything you want, as in a lavish feast of all kinds of delicious foods. 

Anciet Egyptian Series

 I have just finished reading Wilbur Smith's DESERT GOD. I know it took me too long to begin and had it while I was confined for 4 hours on my 3x/wk  dialysis schedule. It's worth reading this remarkable Egyptian novel. 425 pages!! 

You really have to start with the very first novel because it's a very, very long series to better understand the whole complete story of the Pharaoh and his family and clan and all the loyal eunuchs, warriors, and all those that opposed the great ancient rulers of Egypt.

I should have done that actually. But because I found Desert God as interesting and intriguing now I'm looking forward to re-read the past.

DESERT GOD. TAITA the Head of the Eunuch's at the Pharaoh's Kingdom was awarded with Royal Hawk Seal which allows him to rule all the Egyptian warriors, trade and deal with other leaders in another country with approval of the Egyptian Pharaoh. Lord Taita was the key adviser of Queen Lostris when she was still alive but when she passed away Taita became the Royal adviser to the orphaned children prince Tamose who later became the Pharaoh and 2 princesses Bekatha and Tehuti. 

So many challenges behind Taita's royal promotion and one of them was to prove to Pharaoh Tamose that Egypt is far greater than the Hyksos when it comes to civilization, exploration and thus far greater when it comes to trade, shipping, and Tita's thought that their chariots far better excelled in its function. The Hyksos are Egyptians number one enemy that they must be at power play to rule their kingdom.

However, their plans got interrupted when Princess Tehuti was abducted by the jackals led by Al Hawsawi. Then later knowing that Al Manjoo's son was part of the abduction who worked as spy for the jackal. This is when Lord Taita became ruthless and ask Al Manjoo (warrior for Egypt) to kill his own son for treason. Al Manjoo pleads for his son's life but Lord Taita was so strong will with his order that Manjoo got no option. Anyway, no matter how much he wept after killing his own son but he cannot disobey Lord Taita. Taita's words are the words of the "Pharaoh." 

Al Hawsawi the ruthless jackal was cornered by Lord Taita, Zaras and Egyptian warriors, Al Hawsawi had Tehuti with sharp blade aiming on her neck. Al was about to kill her when suddenly a falcon cry (Taita's imitation sound cry) had Al Hawsawi lose his focus and right immediately Taita had his bow and arrow ready for the shot. Al was hit bleeding and injured he lose his grip on Tehuti. Zaras tried to rescue Tehuti while Taita aimed and shot two Bedouins who are after Zaras. Unfortunately, Al Hawsawi was not dead yet and was able to hit Zaras leg and had cut part of his body (?) and because of this princess Tehuti got shocked and thought Zaras dying, she did the swift, extraordinary way of grabbing the sword and severely stabbed and  sliced Al Hawsawi's throat down to his bones.

And the rest of the next scenes rather pages are mostly suspense, action (war), romance,  adventure, mystery, mystical/horror rites.

Veggies & Flowers

 I remember the GREEN REVOLUTION PROJECT in the Philippines under the Marcos administration in the 70's. What's this project about?

Filipino house owners should have a vegetable garden in their backyard or front yard. All schools private or public funded should have their own garden and grow some vegetables. Hospitals must have a vegetable garden within their area. Even churches should grow some veggies. 

Wonder why? Philippines is always been a typhoon-infested country. There's always flood and the distribution of goods especially the vegetables coming from the uplands of Baguio City takes longer period of time. Hunger and starvation is something you don't want for hundred millions of people. Well no longer hundred millions though. Maybe those "refugees who took refuge in the 70's" returned to their own homelands. 

Happy to know that some property owners in Vancouver Island will grow some vegetables this spring time. There will be lots of veggies!! Wow! Do you think it will lower the price of veggies in supermarket? Remember the law of supply and demand.

Do you like vegetables? I know so many of you love flowers.

Why not? Gardening is a simple hobby you cannot resist but at the same time, it's a therapeutic for those who wants to relax their minds. It is also a form of exercise. You'll find out who's who got green thumb.

Ghost Towns Or City Blooms?

 The weather has turned cold today!! Afraid of hot weather and wildfires and the water restriction? That could be it. In Alberta, the water restriction starts in the month of May 2024.What about in BC?

It's only March 2024 just that  Canadians are always prepared for something or anything of the unknowns. That's why carbon tax was set up due to the pollution of carbon filled atmosphere during the wildfires year 2023. Who did it anyway? It's not always lightning, don't blame lightning for natural forces because it could be drones and run-away missiles. 

RUN-AWAY AIR MISSILES? How's that possible? The Earth's atmosphere has too many layers. Depends on what kind of weather that day. Depends on trajectory. Depends on the speed and where the mighty winds carry those missiles and if unfortunately carried through the jet stream or arctic blast and God knows where it would fall.

Australia had the worst wildfires ever captured by world's satellites and smoke reached the ISS and yet carbon tax not implemented.

With the high cost of living that only millionaires and billionaires can afford. 

Oh, know what in the latest news of affordable housing condos in Vancouver mainland especially those who are in government's radar as in the government pays for their daily needs they can avail of those condo-living. Great! The Good Government is working for them. There's nothing like that here in Vancouver island. The cheapest condo rental suites available for $2,500 - $3,000/suite or more than its value especially if its seaview or overlooking the sea. Most new houses being built now are worth millions of dollars!!

The new immigrants can afford maybe for the year of occupancy until they have other options of living off the grid or they become homeless just like those many homeless people who were victims of wildfires, tornadoes, floods and hurricanes and maybe because they can no longer afford their apartments or mortgages. 

After year 2000, many families were able to afford buying houses because of its price down to something affordable because those houses were "foreclosures" after the pulp mills, saw mills and mining companies closed down or shutdown their business. Whether to turn a city into ghost towns then lowering the prices of houses and apartments seemed the ideal rescue plan. ? 

Other economic strategists could make other options. You know... evil wicked and greedy people cannot outplay those whom you fooled for so many years for they might turn _________!

HAPPY SPRINGTIME!

 Thank God it's spring time! How time flies... 

The most awaited spring, warm sunny days ahead? Not for long though that's why so many people in my community didn't waste time having fun along the beach at SIHW and through the walkway along the beach, picnic, bonding, camping  at the shore. It was such a gorgeous view out there overlooking the Quadra island lighthouse, beautiful  blue sky, warm air.  It wont be long when the Discover Passage will be busy with cruise ships passing through and many sailboats, fishing boats with avid fishermen in their spring fishing and crabbing and what else could be out there in the ocean.

I know you wished our ocean is just like Hawaii with all the continuous waves for surfing. Hey, know what? When there's a storm the Discovery Passage is great for surfing because of its high waves beware though because the water in the ocean is wicked cold even if at spring time.

Can you just imagine if the ocean here is warm? Something that you don't want to see... sharks!! and nasty jelly fishes. But probably we'll have species of  tuna because tuna likes warm water. Tuna, herrings, scads, anchovies,  hmm yum!! Daydreaming.

Get out while you can today and have fun under the sun for the weather forecast next days and days to come will be showers and downpour.

Silent Prayers

 Hey, it's Paddy's Day! How are you to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day? For the Irish or those whose got the spirit of the Irish from Ireland surely you are to celebrate being "Green" today. Why not? It's happy way to remember of how Saint Patrick was able to drive all the snakes out from Ireland. 

You think that's rural or urban legend? It must be true.

How long ago I had encountered with gang of snakes of all kinds? Many years ago.

This is what really happened...

Before year 1970, I think before 1968. I was asked by my Lola (grandmother) to wash the plates, drinking glass  and utensils, spatula, silverwares from our bamboo counter/sink. One of the utensils a spatula, fell from one of the slits of the bamboo down to the ground. Our house was made of hardwood/bamboo with galvanized iron roof, house on stilt.  The house posts were long maybe more than 10 ft. built to stand strong from river flood. Yup, our house was just walking distance from the river and the Sabang bridge.

I went downstairs, down above our family home. I got hold of the spatula and when I stood up suddenly there was tremor. The tremors became earthquake. I got scared. I was holding unto our house post fastened on heavy concrete and steel. Then I heard my younger brother Ramon yelling to our grandma, "Lola, inuuga ni Ibya and haligi ng bahay." I couldn't help myself laughed at what I heard because it was my first time to hear my brother talk at age 2. 

Anyway, the earthquake didn't stop almost like a wave. I was about to climb the wooden ladder at the base of the groundwall when suddenly all at once different kinds of snakes came crawling out from the wall. Different species!!! OMG! I returned running to the house post and hold tightly to that wooden post, stood there without moving and closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes, the snakes were gone and was able to get out and I was shocked of what I have seen above, to the road, electric posts were down, the electric wires down, there were complete disarray, coconut trees down,  houses built on stilt had fallen other houses were slight damage and the bridge? The bridge had been damage too but not totally wreck. (That famous bridge in Sabang has its own legend that I will tackle next time). 

I was thankful of course because nobody died. I have to thank God that at very young age I know how to pray and those snakes didn't bite me. Silent prayers help without being too loud. God is not deaf.

Long COVID?

 What's the long covid about? How many vaccinations a human needs to be completely safe from covid? Know what? Nobody knows! In one year period, so many millions of Canadians been vaccinated 4x. Four times vaccinated and yet they still get infected with covid. Wow! That's wow! So unbelievable right?

While those who didn't have vaccines or not vaccinated didn't test positive or haven't had covid vaccine injected in their arms didn't get that much dreaded covid. Healthy, strong immunity.

Something is wrong with MRNA COVID -19 VACCINES. 

We all know that since 2021. However, you had been informed through TV News Networks, internet news, radio, and social networks and word of mouth news. It is not misinformation if those people had the courage to tell you that it is what happened to them that 4x vaccinated doesn't guarantee that you are safe from getting that covid again and again. So those people who suffered even after 4 doses of (vaccines) vaccinations, the covid vaccines are sort of scam. Greatest scam ever!?

It's like flu. Anti-flu vaccines also not guarantee for some people to be safe. There are information as in facts that some people they felt sick after having flu vaccine which is just minimal.

THINK OF COVID AS INFLUENZA. So that you'll feel better and taking TYLENOL to cure your ailment is better than vaccine. If you have colds, try hot Lipton chicken noodles soup with ginger.

It depends. YOU as a human being should be aware of your own health and immunity. You don't just get out there and feel like you are safe and you are immortal. Humans are vulnerable to all kinds of diseases. It's not like you are superman or supergirl or another superhuman who are immune to all hurt, pain and what other toxicity in your environment.

The Maintenance Of the Earth Depends With The Humans Who Want To Exist & Live

 Dying of the light is not a good thing perhaps...that's why all of a sudden at 8 am still is dark outside!

Ha ha ha! Weird or what the weather forecast is wrong eh?

The unpredictability of weather has something to do with majority of humans who are still loving  winter season and are you ready for hot springtime? With all the wildfires?

It is not that hot nor summer yet and there are news already of wildfires. Are they accidental or purposely done wildfires? That's why investigation is underway. 

Where are you on Planet Earth? What's really underneath your land? Is there something boiling? Are there hidden volcanoes?

British Columbia is surrounded by mountains, a cordillera of mountains: Rocky Mountains, Mt. Washington, Mt. Seymour, Cascade Mountain, Mount Baker, and so many other mountains and hills. There are fake mountains. Oh no! There are artificial mountains? What's that?

A mountain with a large mouth at the peak or a large opening at the top  is a volcano. There are extinct, dormant and active volcanoes. Where's that active volcano located? If there is a visibility of lukewarm lake or hot spring somewhere there's a possibility of a volcano nearby. 

The Earth is actually an active giant volcano hundred million years ago. As it grows older and older, the climate changed dramatically and cooled down. Scientifically, humans who have the power to balance its natural and unnatural resources should maintain what is good for the living otherwise, its doomsday all over again.

They Are Not Blessings In Disguise

 When you wake up to the same kind of news for the past months and months and then somebody died...oh my GOD! Is that how we have to be shocked to realized that we are still on planet Earth and we are still alive? That we breathe oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide? Yes, we are mortals. We are not immortal.

I know so many people are so hung up with something. 

Nobody believes something or anything without proof or evidence.

How things happened without a warning and how it even happened in the first place.

That some people will post their ailments and being inside the hospital to be believable that they are sick. Otherwise, nobody wants to believe you.

The point is the redundancy of proclaiming or broadcasting of your ailments on social network sometimes become a target and it becomes a "chain." Like if it happened to them it will happen to you like a karma because you are connected and because you are being targeted. 

Wow! That's wow!!

How to stop the chain? Find out who are doing the research. Find out why you are being targeted. Are they aliens? lol. It seems crazy but you know how deep-seated those beasts. They are out to get you. So many of them now that it is impossible to know them because of their disguises. 

They are not blessings in disguise... they are out to get you!

Too Much Carbon in Canada?

 Year 2020 - 2023 was sort of the pandemic years of COVID 19 but was actually a population explosion. Canada was just the country that continue to grow during the pandemic and during wildfires.

In the Philippines during the typhoon seasons when population also explodes as if magically when certain demographic area had some new faces as if wild mushrooms sprout out like yin-yang. "Mushrooms who cannot speak the local language but because they looked like "Asians" so be it.

Now, at present time when everything could be explained that migration is the cause of those calamities and pandemic.

Some people had just problems with numbers. They have difficulty in explaining where millions of people came from. Because it's hard to provide numbers in terms of money.

Now that carbon is also a source of money. Why humans have to pay for carbon?

Of all countries in the world, CANADA has lesser carbon compared to other countries in the world. But because we are being pressured and bullied here in Canada by other supposedly ancient civilizations. Why? Because our leader is weak rather "weak on the knees" with other supremacists. Our leader has no background in the military, not a lawyer and not a well experienced NO MAN. He is always the YES MAN for countries who are at war and giving in and keeps giving in. In return he is bullying his own fellowmen to pay taxes of all kinds to adhere to the bullying of those countries who are at war. Is it really war? Or is it infrastructures so that they can build their own highest tower. Yeah, take it like it is the building of the Tower of Babel wherein you don't really know how data and information are being carried out. Secrecy and conspiracy where will it ends?

How many billions of trees in the forest in Canada? Have you seen the forest in BC? All the provinces have forest, rich forests and vegetation. Agricultural lands are richly endowed in Canada.Did you have a long drive from BC to Alberta? Did you happen to count the trees along the longest highways up to the highest elevation? Immense, im-measureable. Did you see houses? Only few houses, low population and few buildings...mostly trees! Are you sure you are breathing carbon when you are surrounded with trees? 

I think we need a leader who has knowledge with the environment and has knowledge about science and economics. Otherwise, we end up the laughing stock here in Canada. But OTTAWA meant for it. OT TAWA. Over Time Laugh.

Then add more humans in Canada because there are billions of trees and vegetation. lol. There you are carbon, more people more pollution CARBON is bigger, larger than usual. Next, do we have enough water here? OMG!!

Are we really on planet earth? That's the basic question every human has to ask.

Well ONLY IF YOU ARE STILL ON PLANET EARTH.

Hmm... I know such a weird world now. You asked too much questions and you end up in hospitals with fake doctors and whether you live or die for questioning those "aliens"  ha ha ha what else should you do in your life to SURVIVE?

It's okay. Don't worry the story of the BODY SNATCHERS will take maybe a century into the future.

That time, we wont be here anymore. We'll end up like carbon.

Misunderstood: Twisted Ladder

 The war between Israel & Hamas and had affected so many Canadian politicians simply because of political interference and personal affiliation with those two factions. But what had been twisted in the news or what we didn't understand is when a member of the Parliament, elected official made rude comments or undesirable comments about such country in times of war. At first, the politicians and Canadians were mad at that female politician for uttering undesirable anti-semitism sentiments only to be announced later that she is Jewish. What? 

 

The country Israel is a country in the Middle East. Still is part of Asia. Gaza is a very small piece of land maybe just a "town" inside Israel. Gaza belongs to Israel. However, the people who live in Gaza are called Palestinians. The war is about the brutal, bloody and sadistic attack of Hamas against Israelites (Jews) and abduction of hundreds of Jews on October 7, 2023.

Palestine wants an autonomous government, autonomous country and because they have leaders and their religion is Islam. The conflict between Israel and Palestines was centuries old, ancient. Actually their conflict can be read through the Holy Bible.

Do you remember the "parable of the sower & the seeds and different kind of land to grow those seeds?" I think it's written in the Bible.

In both Luke 8 and Matt 13, Jesus tells “The Parable of the Sower.” In the passage, Jesus describes someone planting seeds into four types of soil; the hard path, rocky, thorny, and good soil. Other than the hard path, every soil was capable of producing a plant of some sort.

Palestine is a part of Israel that is unfortunately not arable. Nothing grows on its land, not great for plantation, vegetation for whatever reason is not fertile. However, the Gazan population is growing like wild weeds. The population of humans multiplies even if the land is not sustainable and there is scarcity of resources.

The Gazans or people from Gaza are mostly employed in Israel or Egypt. However since the war, the Egyptians built concrete high fence with barb wires along the borders meant to thwart any illegal migrants to their country. Palestinians livelihood is based from being employed in Israel. Without Israel the Gazans or Palestines wont be able to sustain their livelihood unless Middle east countries or the Egyptians, Jordanians or Lebanons provided basic necessities. Or what could be other means of commerce and trade going on inside Gaza, inside Palestine? Gaza is mostly concrete buildings built without any trees or lack of vegetation, dry and humid. At present time Gaza had been destroyed and now in ruins.

Let's go back to the politician Ms. Selina Robinson who apologized for what she said in the past and resigned. So, she is Jewish. In previous news she was condemned for being anti-semitic and feared for her life. How could she be anti semitic when she is a Jew? There is some sort of misunderstanding right?

It's A Very Sad World

 Learn that you cannot please everybody nor you are responsible for their happiness. I know some people don't really have sense of humor. They are the unhappy people who are only  happy when you are sad and feeling depressed. They are full of insecurity that they want you to feel sorry for yourself. What kind of people are they?

Those beings whoever they are want you to feel poorest of the poor and feeling sick most of the time. They thrive on what they can squeeze from you. They are sort of the "parasite" living a good life.

Can you just imagine how weird that would be if the sick people trying to make those insecure, not contented beings happy? When they are supposed to be the "clown."

Yeah, sad, sad world. Everybody wants to rule the world))) lol.

WEIRD BAN

 Any sharing of articles, news from Canada are banned on Facebook!

 Now I know that the BAN is still in effect.

I tried twice to share messages rather article written by an American on VOX. So that's also a ban because I'm here in Canada and because machines knew that I'm here in Canada cannot share those news from the USA esp. on Facebook.

Now that's weird. Weird or what? That's funny. NO SORRY!! It's not funny at all.

Simply because... it has something to do with news report almost like an investigative report on the fraud/scam that involved people being diagnosed with cancer. Not all of those patients have cancer. It was a court/litigation case. So this is a very complicated case. Who  to blame? Who else? Think about who should be blamed for fake medical diagnosis? It's not the patient! Duh.

Always Be Prepared

 Well, well, well... it snowed and it still is snowing! Is that in the weather forecast? 1 Celsius with 4" thick snow on the ground. Hmm, in the forecast it will snow/rain at the same time but the snow is sticking to the ground, on the trees, branches, on the roof of houses at the island and on top of the vehicles and of course on top of the mountains and their slopes in BC. 

BC stands for British Columbia but according to a very close friend of mine that BC stands for Be Careful. Yup, that's true. You have to be careful in your driving when the roads are icy and slippery. Your car must have snow tires, you must bring a shovel, medical kit, flashlight, blanket and food with you just in case you stranded on highways due to heavy traffic and unforeseen accident.

 It will rain and melt the snow maybe on Monday or Tuesday. Whatever it is knowing Spring time is on March 19, 2024 so the snow is not really unexpected.

Goodbye February! Welcome March 2024!!

 Thursday housework done and I almost unable to get up but with help from my daughter that mission impossible becomes possible. lol. Also of course thanks to modern appliances. 

Sadly, my favourite hockey team had lost their chance last night but the good thing is their team is still number one in the Pacific Division. Whether they lose or win they are the CHAMPION! Best effort for the year 2023 and 2024. The best improved hockey team ever!! I would like them to win the STANLEY CUP 2024 for they deserve to win. Other teams do not deserve that much accolade. You know what I mean?

Nothing much to report and I know the news on TV are so unbearable right now. WAR & Rumors of wars. Also the demise of former PM Brian Mulroney at age 84 (1939-2024) Condolence to the bereaved family.  R.I.P.🙏

Oh, the qualifying rounds for Formula One is just the beginning for today. As usual, VERSTAPPEN won the qualifying rounds.

UPDATE: VERSTAPPEN WON in the Finals

I'm glad it didn't snow and we don't have to shovel. I think it snowed more on the mountains and higher elevation. Good. The mountains in Canada need more snow than ever.
