Heard of the story that some Americans pardon their turkey and not to consume any part of the turkey because it is consider taboo "that their turkey looks like an eagle."
For the blinds or visually impaired, turkey looks an eagle, but not quite.
Anyway, some of them must celebrate Thanksgiving without a turkey and just have big roast chicken for dinner. There are so many million great recipes out there without the need to have turkey.
For whatever reason (?) that Canadians have to celebrate Thanksgiving earlier than Americans when they can celebrate at the same day. Actually when Canada celebrated Thanksgiving Day, some Americans joined in with the Canadians. Well it's because they have dual citizenship. Canadian-Americans.
Before year 2000, you can travel from Canada to the US without the need for passport and VISA. It's a freeway from BC to Alaska then to Vancouver to Seattle. Canada and US as ONE NATION. No border wall needed. Then it becomes strictly implemented that border wall security must be secured at all times due to terrorism or just that the change of "leaders" could impact necessary measurements or the policies and trade laws they had written and passed as bill changed the course of time. Which you can see now between UK & EU in its Brexit the new movement.
I wonder in Philippines. No walls, no borders just TOLL GATES. How many toll gates? OMG! Can't count how many toll gates there. I think they are called troll gates. lol

The Rat Race
29 days to Christmas! it's hard to believe but we have to believe. A week long transportation strike is over in Vancouver. Did it really happened? In Vancouver?
When I first saw Vancouver in the year 2012 and drive along the many avenues, from its tall buildings to old pathways and byways...first thought it was Hong Kong. It has the same similar architectural background except that there are no more of those old concrete walls and were replaced with the skytrain minus the many banners and signs of Chinese logos and Chinese characters gone. How could that be? HK in Vancouver? That's absurd. It can't be. However, most of the inhabitants of mainland Vancouver are Chinese. Mostly! Inter-racial marriages with Canadian Whites and British set the trend. The chlorinated water can do wonders with the color of your skin. Without those Chinese logos, banners and anything of Chinese lanterns nobody will assume it is what it is. Old map also showed HK somewhere in Vancouver. HK is such a small city, smaller than Manila. Nobody will believe me anyway. It's okay. How about this...Who will believe me that Fort Bonifacio is now a Korean Town? Koreans who can speak the Filipino language. Baka nga mas magaling pa silang magsipagtagalog quesa sa mga tunay na Filipinos. The influx of Chinese immigrants in Philippines also diversified and it's unbelievable that the immigration there is rapid fast. How can you stop migration in Philippines? Awfully impossible. Graft and corruption and money talks. Philippines is an archipelago so anything goes in and out. You will wake up one day that Philippines is over populated by the Chinese & Koreans not by Filipinos. It happened to America. Will it happen to Canada? LOL. Is that a question? I think Canadians love diversity. They want millions of immigrants in Canada so that they can be out of job including the Prime Minister. Too bad that there is no Filipino-Canadian voted for office in the Parliament. How disgusting is that. It's becoming the Fascist movement happening right now. They think it's about cystic fibrosis or cyst. Fascist and Fascism. How strong are you? In Godfather the movie with many sequels, will tell you the stronger gets to live.
THE WALLS:
You have to remember the concrete border walls that covered China, Japan, India and other countries were toppled down by earthquakes before year 2001. New infrastructures were built. The meltdown of the iceberg also had structural damages and influx of people through immigration happened within the rate of over 50%. So why we cannot see those structural within our visions? Do we have to? You have to go there at that exact location to find that out whether the structure is actually concrete or just painted murals.
To build the structural great wall? For what? Those rats can dig deeper. They wont be jumping over the wall. They will dig deeper underground to get in.
In a harmonious, happy place there is no diversity, no racism, no plasticity, no war, no bullying...no hate and no hatred, peaceful and quiet, where is that happy place? NOWHERE so RUN if you CAN, nowhere man.

Keep On Digging!
It's hard to say goodbye to ANNE WITH AN E. However, the dramatic series based on Anne Gables life story had certain controversial socio-political issues. It is far more getting delicate and complicated as Anne grows old from being innocent to a mature lady falling in love with the boy next door, named Gilbert whose house had been overtaken by surprised by three non-whites and led him feeling astray and a stranger in his own home. Gilbert thought he could marry an older woman to get away or escape from overtaking of his own household but he is a smart boy and he was about to embark his new life in Toronto. The political issues with the Catholicism and the Canadian government in dealing with the indigenous, also a factor on how they (production company) have to deal with it.
The author of ANNE WITH AN E is so smart not to prolong the life story of Anne Shirley. Leave it like that instead of having her to continue of what life she would be entering in the big city. That's good enough. A happy ending is much better giving so many Canadian teens the hope that life is worth living for.

Remember the 2 novels written by Dr. Jose P. Rizal: Noli Me Tangere & El Filibusterismo had all accounts of mistreatment of the Indios (Indigenous) in his time during the Spanish-Filipino era. Five hundred years of living under the cruelty of the Spaniards. Filipinos had a name, they were called Indios. Let us not too dramatic here, those two great novels got Dr. Rizal in trouble and he was imprisoned and executed by firing squad. He died in Luneta (Bagumbayan) and his statue and memories live forever as of today. He was just a novelist (polymath) but he was put to death. What could be a great honor to die for his country. But is it worthy? Would you like to die for your country?
Some people are not stupid. Some people knew the value of human life and should not be taken for granted nor subject to be sort of a sacrifice.
What could be Anne's next move if she will be in the bigger city? Will she be a politically-minded individual or she'll become an entertainer? In her time, if she pursue her politically-civic mindedness she'll be a female hero but she will be the villain in an old government and old religious factions. What could be?

Whatever! They always want an uprising of some kind to take matters into their hands. They should play basketball. So many thieves. So many million thieves that court cases are piling up. Indigenous people wanting to avenge their ancestors and asking for millions of dollars in payments for the hurt, pain and humiliation they encountered during the struggling and most difficult years of "slavery" and indecent atrocities to their race. That's what it is. Poor Canada and poor Canadian taxpayers! Sometimes, it's great to be indigenous!

Truth Or Fiction
Once again the news on TV about SCAMS & SCAMMERS are out and the public is warned about it especially during the Holidays.Well, that's according to NEWS REPORTERS on TV NEWS NETWORK. If they don't know who are asking donations, then they are scammers. If they belong to the Royal families the scam is not scam but charities.
I think it takes guts, being strong to tackle with those bad people and bad guys. Who are the hackers and who will rip you off, in and out of the web. In the world wide web where so many spiders. To tell you the truth there are so many scams and they are so great when it comes to money-making scams. So many of them have enriched themselves and probably laughing out from the bank and having the best of both worlds, traveling around the world in luxury. We heard of those scams & scammers.The super rich, the noveau rich enriching themselves! The poor gets poorer.
Whatever! How many charities and charitable institutions? Millions of charities and institutions asking for money. They are millionaires and billionaires always asking for donations. If you are being helped with those donations...good for you!
What's the difference from scams and charities? Nothing actually. The similarities? Always asking for donations!
In UK during the 18th Century, people who were asking for donations or begging for alms were then asked to move out of UK and they landed in the US and other parts of the world. They were vanished to never seen again. In 18th Century, America accepted refugees and immigrants if they have something to contribute to their economy. It's true! It was written in History books. It was part of American History and British History.

Siomai & Wontons
I have to wake up early when my husband wakes up, even at 5 am or at 6 am. Why? He goes to work without having breakfast. I have to make sure that he gets his breakfast or he wont eat. Then I made a chicken sandwich for him so that he can have it for lunch but he said he will come home for lunch. He was unable to come home for lunch yesterday because he was busy installing the cabinets for Adrian at the apartment. He gets so fixated on his work that sometimes he doesn't have time to come home at lunchtime. Part of it was the distance from work to our home takes 10-15 minutes drive or sometimes longer when there's traffic on the road.
I wonder what would it be like when there's snow on roads and highways? Anyway, his vehicle has new thick tread winter snowtires this time around. He's a good driver.
It's been such a long time haven't prepare and cook wonton soup, so I decided wonton soup would be awesome on this cold season.
Wontons on hot chicken broth with brocolli, carrots, mushrooms, bokchoy and onions. Superbly delicious of course.

For those who doesn't like wonton, you can make it as siomai instead. The ingredients for siomai and wontons are the same.
Ingredients: Ground pork, chopped shrimps, salt, black pepper, chopped garlic, chopped onions, thinly sliced and chopped carrots, spring onions. Optional: chopped celery and ginger. Add beaten eggs at least 2 eggs, effective ingredient to mix all the ingredients and for easy wrapping to the desired wonton wrapper of your choice.
For best tasting siomai, pour sesame oil and sprinkle chopped spring onions or cilantro.

On Being Creative
How creative are you? Do you have so much pile of money to splurge and spend?
Have you been to the craft store lately?
OMG! Craft materials are very expensive! You'll think twice first that being creative nowadays is a matter of thinking to be economically thrifty instead in times of economic crisis.
When you think that you are economically wealthy? Think again.
There is too much uncertainties nowadays.
Thinking about positivity is are you lying about that to yourself?
Or the economic and political crisis as aired through radios and television news are part of the trick?
No pretense, no lying, and no BS... if you can't afford to buy the things that you want in CASH and you are using your credit card then the truth is you really can't afford such thing even if you are employed.
So in creativity, we all should stop pretending and stop all the baloneys.

Growing Up Is Mandatory
How can you grow up if you wont eat? That's why humans are meant to eat food. You can eat every day if you want to for as long as your stomach wants. Eat anything that you can digest.
Eat the meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To never skip any meal unless of course if you are not hungry.
From what I heard you cannot have your stomach empty for 3-4 days or else your stomach will grind your intestines. That is so scary. Would you believe it?
That's why it's better to have food all the time.
My hubby loves fresh vegetables but when he went to supermarket he found better deals in frozen vegetables: 2 bags of these Green Giants only for $4.00 ($2 /bag).
We had vegetable stir-fry with chicken and fusili pasta with rice for lunch today. Yummy good of course.
Whenever I'm lost for something new to cook but we have burger patties and buns in the freezer and there you go... the easiest dinner meal. Hamburger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and fries. No wonder why we never go out and dine in at restaurants.Hm, maybe I'm a good cook.
Pork back ribs, my son's favorite meal. This time, hubby bought something that is already marinated and takes few minutes to heat in the oven. Unlike before when I have to boil the fresh ribs to soften and tenderize the meat before placing it on flaming hot barbecue grill.

Shoes That Fit The Ocassion
I have so many clothes in my closet, however some of them are already used so many times and several of these clothes don't fit me anymore. My daughter have lots of clothes too but she is too choosy and picky when it comes to clothing. She loves to wear ungirly clothes. She hates wearing dress. She's not a tomboy or lesbian but her choice of clothing must be comfortable for her. She likes to wear camouflage shirts and camo pants or any military style clothing. I was like her before when it comes to preferred clothing that fits my personality. I should enrolled my daughter in martial arts. lol. I had 3 units of aikido training. My husband had training in taekwando. I haven't used my karate training. Although from watching Karate Kid and Jacky Chan's movies, one can get the knowledge of self- defense.
It is by the way you clothe yourself that makes you attractive to harassment. That's why it's better to cover yourself in places where those uglyheads are. If you know what I mean.
When it comes to foot-wears, better wear comfortable shoes. I don't think need to buy pair of shoes. I have several shoes in the cabinet. Some old, some new shoes. I bought a pair of new shoes that I was not able to wear. For whatever reason suddenly when I get home and fit in to those shoes...they are too tight already. How that happened?
From an expert informant's opinion: Better to buy pair of shoes in the afternoon. I wonder why. Know why? Mystery, mystery loves misery. lol. My toes are growing every hour. Ha ha ha! I might become a giant.
Suddenly that reminds me of the movie of Jodie Foster.
Whatever! I have two pair of shoes that fit and there's no need to buy. I bought these pairs of shoes
2 years ago but they look kind of new because I don't use them. There's no occasion or parties to use them. Partying nowadays is a thing of the past in Canada. Looks like it's getting to be a third world country here compared to Philippines.

Criticisms Are Good For You
Sometimes I couldn't believe what's the latest in fashion now or just that there are only few fabric to choose from that those fashion retailers used to market their product and the styles and designs are almost outdated and expensive. As if those retailers don't have fashion taste at all. What's wrong with them? Think that if you don't have sense of fashion or any hint of passion for such industry should not be in fashion nor in the fashion industry. Total waste!
I know that if you happened to shop somewhere in Divisoria in Philippines, where there are tons and big rolls (in volumes) of the best and finest textiles of cotton, linens, silk brocade, rayon, oxford, georgette, polyester, poly-spandex, laces, satin, alfa-gabardin, jusi, tafetta, poly-cotton, corduroy, denim, etc. a lot more to choose from. Yet, why so many of those clothing retailers do not use these type of fabric. There are many colorful designs in textiles and yet these "retailers" whoever they are don't like to mention their names should better update and upgrade their knowledge in the clothing industry. Maybe it's time to import new textiles for your fashion stores instead of utilizing volumes of textiles intended for shirts. There are millions of specially designed textiles that are attractive, colorful trendy fabric to choose from and to use those textiles meant for throwaways? That's disgusting.
OMG! I don't know why they have to be in the fashion industry if they sell ugly clothing. Not only their sense of style are not attractive but to sell their clothes like as if their customers target are the hobos? No wonder so many people buy their clothing in thrift shops because the clothes there have more fashion sense. And no wonder why so many women would rather buy curtains for clothing because curtains have better, unique designs and the fabric being used are much better. It's not always black and white the color of everything.
Could it be that they buy very cheap textile materials in order to maximize profit? How can you sell those unfashionable clothes when their fashion sense is outdated? That only the landfill waits for them to secure their space. I'm not being mean, just that they should change. They should change, that every fashion retail outlet must be in conformity with their customers as they have consumer's rights. Follow the advice of your customers.
Cheap trick never make millions. ?
Anyway, just my honest opinion. Maybe same opinionated views by millions of people. Accept criticisms as grain of salt. If its flat taste then you have to add dash of salt and spices. Anyone is entitled for their opinions. That's who we are as humans. We tend to argue and debate, that's okay. Hindi lahat ng tao pusong-mamon. Maraming sensitive dyan who cannot understand, you have to keep on letting them know what is acceptable and what not and what should be done and they always in need of guidance and guidelines.

Being Dramatic
My husband Lorne left for work early this morning and came home at a time when I already finished cooking our meals for lunch ( pan fried pink salmons and saute' minced pork with teriyaki sauce and cauliflowers and onions). He told me that he was feeling kind of dizzy, so he checked his blood pressure with his blood pressure monitor. I told him that maybe he is hungry and he should take his lunch first. He was doing painting once again in another apartment. The townhouse unit he had renovated and cleaned was already been occupied with new tenants. Lucky for those new tenants for they have 5 brand new appliances to use , new toilet bowls, newly painted walls, ceilings and new floor tiles and laminated wood floors. That unit was once a chaotic place. Uhm, can't tell you the details. That maybe was the problem why he had so much gas pain from cleaning and renovating that place. Just watch those HGTV Reno projects and you'll know the difficulty of those type of jobs.
I have my own life to manage. I have work to do at home. I don't just sit down and watch TV or do computer works. I keep my home in order and whether I like it or not my bathrooms should be sanitized and even if I'm having allergies with those strong cleaning supplies, sprays and sanitizers have to clean our bathrooms. I have to clean the kitchen, living room, bedrooms and the whole house. Everyday. That's who I am. We have appliances, we have modern washers and dryer for clothes you think work is easy. Still you have to clean those appliances after every use. It's been a routinary work.
Life in Canada is not a place to be idle with. People worked so hard and pay taxes religiously. You can never really tell who are the wealthy and poor in Canada. It's hard to tell.
While the rest of the burgis (burgeouise) manage to run their lives like royalties because of charities... while some of us struggle to make ends meet. Life's like that ever since. lol.
Feeling kind of dramatic. Do you think it will snow soon?

The Witch Hunt
Oh well, somebody is deleting my blog posts right now. For whatever reason that hacker has nothing to do anymore. I think I KNOW THE HACKER.
So better change the topic of discussion.
The witch hunt that is being said through the news and esp. by the POTUS is somewhat real. But you know radiation and the geiger counter if those hackers have them can trigger such effect as if the witchy witch is back.
Could it be that during the manhunt of the witches in 17th century to 18th century could be triggered by "computers?" How's that possible? Modern times in medieval period?
The devil and evil creatures are everywhere and they are also witches.
So better change the topic of discussion.

WATER
It was in year 2011 when high levels of arsenic in BC waters had been discovered. Year 2019 when high levels of lead has been found and discovered within parts of Canada as broadcasted in the news on CBC News network.
What to do about it?
1. Changing old water pipes necessary
2. Use water filter
3. Drink bottled water
In our generation nothing is 100% safe.
So take care of yourself.

Do You Think Food Can Make You Happy? Or unhappy?
There are times when I also suffer heartburn. First thought I'm having some kind of a stroke. But it happened when I was in front of the computer. It's not about food consumption but there are certain website that triggers some kind of shock or force block. That could be high level of radiation.
This is a Chinese/Filipino food.
This time, I decided to bake an apple pie with cheddar cheese and cinnamon based from my own recipe.
Smells so good. That's our dessert. Only my dessert. Husband has black-cherry ice cream. Children are not into dessert. My daughter likes ice cream preferably vanilla ice cream.

Tummyaches and Gas pains
I don't know what's causing my husband's stomach ache, always having that gas pain. I don't think it has something to do with the food that I cooked because I was not bothered with all the food I cooked for my family. My children never had such problem with the food I usually cooked for them. I have the "food safe certificate" and I know what cleanliness and sanitation is, in other words I'm the best cook ever.
I asked him so many questions sometimes repeatedly what he ate at work. Maybe somebody had given him snacks or he went to a convenience store and bought food that bothers his stomach.
Year 2012 when he had that first bout with stomach pains that was after he was given an Indian food, sort of spicy meatballs of some kind. He was the only one who ate those spicy meatballs whatever the ingredients are didn't really suit his metabolism and he had that excruciating pain. I think he is or has allergy with Indian spices.
I already advised him to seek advice from the doctor. I don't know why he never go and visit his doctor for consultation instead of speculating and guessing what could be.
It could be his blood pressure medication having side effect. My husband is already old, he knows what's right for him. He should argue with his doctor.
Oh, at one time when somebody gave us a piece of sourdough bread as welcome gift into the neighborhood of oldies, that bread was really a bread that causing gas pain. I wonder what kind of flour was used to bake such bread of discomfort.
Sometimes gluten is harmful. Could be the glutenous substance in some bread causing the discomfort in my husband's tummy. He is the only one who eats sandwiches at home. That could be the cause.
I usually take record or shoot photos of food I cooked at home. To make sure what food that bothers me and so far nothing has causing me the stomach aches and pains. My children loves the food I cooked so the food that I cooked are SAFE.
However, my husband seems to like what other people are giving him and what he likes to eat and that's the problem. So, I should make a record and shoot photos of those food given to him just to make sure. Why not?
