Food Or Chips

Looks like we are ready for Halloween 2018. With 4 boxes of  Doritos, Old Dutch and Pringles mostly chips because the chocolates are gone. We ate the chocolates!!!!! Oh no! lol

Last year's Halloween 2017, we had 94 kids and adults who went trick and treating at our home. I don't know how many will drop by and knock at our door or ring our door bell.

Hot steaming seafood (shrimps, fishballs, scallops) and pork with young baby corn, celery, onions, garlic, carrots hot pot! In other words, "Chop suey." I was thinking of wrapping the scallops with bacon for appetizer but that's a lot of work so I added the scallops for chop suey instead.

I don't mind having this "palabok" once a month. It's the same old recipe but I added a bits and pieces of chicharon. What missing is the squid and its special ink. Maybe next time have to complete the palabok special ingredients.

Tonight, we had spaghetti which is just a weekly repetition when I don't feel like cooking. I don't know when will we ever visit a restaurant or fast food.

Time Unravel

Bye, bye flashbacks! Of course we are in the YEAR 2018. It's October 2018. I have no time machine. I have a long memory just like the Generals in the Army. He he just kidding.

My daughter stayed awake last night watching the fallen of  two lead characters in the horror/action/drama "The Walking Dead" episode The Obliged. Rick and Darryll had accidentally fell to the sinkhole and took a lot of trying out to go climb out from the sinkhole but cannot until the zombies had fallen on their sides, only then they have to get out or eaten alive. Rick was not able to escape from a fatal accident when he had a fall from his horse and two factions of zombies slowly walked towards him while he lay dying. What could be the possibility of him to escape from the wrath of hungry zombies when he was pinned down on a concrete slab and bleeding. Suddenly, a flashback of his life from the beginning was featured on the screen. It would be a dramatic moment for Rick, this time and the next episode. Whether he will pass away or be rescued by anybody (who?) or taken by angels above? I don't know. Don't know who they rely and copied for the next unraveling of their never-ending apocalyptic series. Well, I don't think they copy from my novel. lol. I hope not. I think they are stup. if they kill Rick's character in this long time running zombie series and let Negan live to reign as the walking devil in disguise. Maggie is after Negan and who wont be? Negan killed her husband without remorse. Why Negan only had soft spot on Carl and Judith? Whatever, Negan he is not a pedophile is he? The character he played is that of a power-grab leader, charismatic, who had enermous thirst for perfection and whoever made mistakes will be dealt with certain punishment such as the lucille bat swing at your face or your face being smacked by hot burning iron or your whole body being shoved to the hot fireplace just like what he did to the doctor.

We changed the channel and "Silence of the Lambs" movie was on that scene where FBI Agent Claire  played  by Jodie Foster   was talking to the cannibal/psychopath  Hannibal Lecter played by talented actor Anthony Hopkin. I watched this movie so many times before.

Changed channel again. SUPERGIRL. Where is she? A University professor suddenly becoming a speaker of racism? It's okay especially if real aliens started to dominate the earth. Will you allow aliens to rule your world? What could be the impact? Impacto? lol.

Then we watched the Chinese movie "Once Upon A Time" and my daughter was giggling of this cute fantasy story of  two lovers who had fallen from heaven. They can transform themselves into beautiful humans into fantastic talking animals. Why the Chinese have better way of exploiting animation and life-like characters and still believable that they are actually for real? Great landscape, artistic make-up for the actors and actresses to make them look animated. The wonderful, lavish almost perfect detailed visuals and 3D or 3 dimensional arts in this movie is truly amazing. I love those peach blossoms they are perfect for a fantasy movie such as ONCE UPON A TIME.

Today is Monday and it's a wonderful day. Sunshine takes all the troubles away.

The Fallen

I wont be seeing this superbly beautiful foliage at the backyard, we moved out from the subdivision remember?
Definitely wont be seeing these lively  trees such as the hazelnut, the cherry blossom tree and the flowering plum tree that never bear the fruit plum. The house and lot once belongs to my in-laws and was sold before year 2015. I wont be cleaning the yard with all the fallen leaves. yey!

I was looking at those leaves ... the fallen leaves thinking OMG! When will those trees stop all the leaves from falling? It was like day after day there are leaves on the ground.

Yeah, it feels like I'm in Japan. With those cherry blossom trees around the area. But I'm not in Japan. Plant cherry blossom trees in Philippines and surely when they able to adapt to an environment that these lovely trees dwell it would feel like you are in Japan, Korea or China. lol.

Can you be in three places at once? Or can you be in different places at the same time (one specific time)? Time warped. Heh, you could be Supergirl.

Then the wind blew its might and the branches started being empty of yellow-orange leaves, until the trees were all bald. Cherry blossom tree has so much leaves that you can ever imagine. Then you add the maple leaves and the leaves from other trees. You wished the leaves from the trees of your neighbors wont blow by the wind and gather at your yard. It's a pain. Double pain of cleaning the yard. But you have to clean your yard of these stubborn leaves on the ground because if you don't they might encounter these troublemakers in the sewer and will cause the drainage and sewer covered and the flow of water remain stagnant and the worst of all the inevitable flood.

How long the fallen leaves to get dry and rotten on the ground? How it becomes fossils? These leaves are not plastic so it becomes the ground, consider them as natural fertilizer. In he forest where billions of these fallen leaves are accumulated what could be the impact of their presence aside from they are natural cover for tundra, watery ground and surface of the ground. Millions of years from now these billions of fallen decomposed and will be  the source of  energy.

Mood Swings

One of those days when you wished that the weather will cooperate with what you are doing according to the plan like doing the laundry outside and drying the laundry from the heat of the sun and from the air. That you wish the whole day is a bright new day without rain. It's the same wish by many people who would like the weather to be magnanimous wonderful for the whole day and the next day to come.

Who likes fall and winter? At Fall there are many fallen leaves. There are millions upon millions of earthy colored leaves on the ground. They were the autumn foliage that we admired and photographed. Beautiful, so amazing colors.

Who loves autumn? Photographers love the autumn colors. Few people disliked autumn and fall...they love winter when the snow is on the ground. Then they started hating the ground when it gets slippery and cold. You really can't tell what majority of people like and love because their mood changed as often as the changes of weather temperature took place in their environment. The rapid changing weather can affect the physical and mental state of everybody. Sad! Happy or sad?

Dressing Up For The Halloween

In the past, we love dressing up for the Halloween. I don't know if we need to dress up for the occasion this year 2018. Well it depends to our good mood whether we would like it or not.

Collections

What kind of stuff do you collect? I know everyone, each of us has that pet peeve or favorite collections of something sentimental whether they are the collectibles, souvenirs, or anything of value therefore that's part of the collection that you would like to keep, hold and cherish.

The rich, affluent people collect lands, buildings, towers, houses, cars (vintage, modern, hi-tech vehicles or worth more than houses), airplanes, helicopters, boats and yachts, precious metals: diamonds, gold, crystals (Superman's crystal cave), silver, platinum, medals, and artifacts (fossils, mummies, manuscripts, scrolls) from the past that museums would like to have.

The most common people would like the less valuable but worthy of being collectibles such as: old coins from different countries, stamps from different countries, Olympic Games collectibles, jewelries, crystals, clothes, shoes, cards of all kinds, dc comics, photos, costumes, video games, cd's (music and movies), seeds (flowers, veggies, fruits, trees), wigs, camera, computers, TV or any electronics, cellphones, tablets, flags, ceramics, porcelains, hats and baseball caps, hockey sticks, hockey jersey, baseball bats and balls, nutcrackers, angels, mugs and cups, silverware, teapot, dinnerware set, handicrafts, ballpens, stuffed toys and stuffed animals, books.

Other humans collect anything from the Royal family such as: Books, magazines, photographs, Royalty items sold at the Museum.

While weird people collect something out of the ordinary such as their own: hair, nails, tooth (for tooth fairy), antlers and horns of their prized catch from hunting in the cariboo.

The Roman Catholic Church still collect donations before the mass ends. The Government still collects taxes. Collection of tithes is prevalent in other Churches around the world.

Garbage is collected every week and so as for  the recycling process. Collecting empty cans and bottles for the recycling depot? That's a good thing to earn your money back.

Collect call is no longer being practice in today's time. Thank God!

How about you? What kind of collectibles you had?

Then they started answering thr. their blogs. Yup, some people collect and collect then select.

ConsPERAcy Or Not

Waking up this morning with a thick fog outside spoils the day. My reluctance to do the laundry... how can I hang the clothes outside when the fog lingers and the strange vapor is on the air everywhere. I decided to do something else like sorting out books of Wilbur Smith, Douglas Reeman and Patrick O'brian. They are famous novelists and my husband is a collector of anything written by those three famous writers. I placed the books in Lorne's cabinet where he can just pick any of the books when he feels like reading while relaxing on his recliner after a day's work.

Then housecleaning once again. Later on decided I must do the handwashing of clothes maybe the foggy atmosphere will be lifted in few hours. Time passed by  and it's time to cook. We had left-over chicken from the roast chicken (from last night's dinner) so I used the bits and pieces of chicken for chicken soup and add thin sliced bokchoy, noodles and chicken broth for added flavour. Superbly delicious. My son had two bowls of this hot chicken soup with noodles. My husband likes it. My daughter prefered to have the pork adobo and rice.

At about 2:24 pm the thick fog was lifted off but sun is covered with clouds up in the sky. This is the third time when fog is evident or cloud covers the ground. Warning of something? Too late though. I already used my hands, twisted all the clothes and towels and let water drain down the sink. With my mighty hands, the strength of a fierce laundry woman (ha ha ha! j/k) it's time to load them inside the dryer machine. I don't know if washing the clothes and towels by hand could save us electricity and water. I think I'm saving much time because a big load of laundry takes an hour for a complete cycle. (One hour cycle for a machine is awful right? I don't know why the maker of machines can't have a complete cycle in just 30 minutes) I don't know how much load of water a washer takes. I think saving an hour of electric usage (from not using washer machine) is the savings there. It would be nice to find out at the end of the month or on hydro billing for this month. Sort of conspiracy? Who knows? Almost everything in Canada is experiment from the time of the polio epidemic to the discovery polio vaccine and discovery of insulin for the diabetics.

Everyday is a new day. The weather keeps changing. How our mind thinking can change depends on the weather, the environment, the people we met, conversed and talked and what we perceived around us and by watching television shows, series, news and programs.

Things To Do

Aside from daily rants and musings, got too many important things to do:

Housework inside the house is first priority such as housecleaning, cooking and laundry.
There are non-priority work outside of he house such as:

1. Pressure washing of the outside walls of the house ( front, back, sides). Done! My daughter helped me with that work.

2. Dug out the dahlia plants from the front yard garden and stored the bulbs in the room temperature garage for next year's planting. Clear the garden with small pebbles and dry leaves from dahlias. Done! My husband helped.

3. Plant the daffodil bulbs in the garden after the clearing. Husband helped in the planting of daffodils.

4. We (husband and I) cleaned the garage and organize everything after we installed the metal steel shelves or cabinet. So there's enough place for storage. Work tools are then placed in the workshop but the dozens of fishing rods must stay at the garage. I don't know when he will go fishing and crabbing. There's no need to go fishing. Magastos!

5. The curtain rods. The first rod was kind of small and unfit for the window that measures 94 inches long, that wont hold the heavy curtain.  Another curtain rod was bought (measures 66 inches-120 inches) but suddenly my husband was reluctant to install it because he wants a double curtain rod.
I checked on Home Depot. The price $120+ double curtain is too pricey. Then found the price is just right at Walmart. I hope they have enough supply there. Stock is based on demand. While I was writing this blog post my husband was at Walmart. He bought the double drapery rod, same price as it was stated in the internet. However, they don't have the stock of the black rod.

What else? The blinds installed at the kitchen sliding door has one missing panel then I fixed it. But then the blinds cannot be pulled to either side or twist to see what's outside. What to do now? Prick the freak out? Ahahhahaah! OMG! There is always something to fix.

My husband will have to ask the technician to fix the washer again and if the service and parts or whatever is needed is more than the value of a new washer then we'll probably buy a new washer. Nakakahiya kasing magrequest sa landlord  owner of this rental house to ask for a new washing machine.

By the way, 3 earthquakes were felt off the coast of Vancouver island. Tatlo pa! Walang skyscrapers dito kaya walang nakaramdam. Can you feel an earthquake if its on the ocean. Buti nga walang tsunami. Baka yung mga balyena mga dambuhala na they feel threaten (felt threatened) and they are causing the tremors. I could be wrong. Maybe there is the continental shift and the ozone layer is about to close na kasi it's October 23 na and October 24 na in other parts of the world. The fog is up again.

In Your Face!

My angels had returned to my cabinet. The rest of the angels are somewhere inside the box. Ten days to go and it's Halloween celebration for kids. I don't know yet what to wear. It's not that I will go trick or treating in the neighborhood because I'm too old for that. My own children wont do that anymore because they are young adults. However, other people still value the Halloween festival as if its part of their culture. I don't mind if they follow the celebration of Halloween festivity in schools, public or private workplace and other parts of the country. It's great for the clothing industry because entrepreneurs can sell their Halloween costumes to kids, adults and whoever loves this costume party or costume parade. All the while they only are after for the treats of chocolates and candies.

Okay, maybe I will wear an angelic costume. The angel of the Lord declare unto Mary... LOL. While the rest of the population will probably wear heroes costumes, all the while the most popular costumes and masks are those of zombies, vampires and other spooky masks such as those of  Scream movies, the mask of Jason and mask of Michael Myers courtesy of Halloween movies.

Whatever! Just wear your own face!

Genetic Testing Begins At The Time Of Birth

How old are you now? Are you old like me? I feel old at age 55. I look much younger than my age but that's okay. I once worked in a white populated workplace before with younger workers (in their 20's) and they thought I was the same age with them. Ha ha! Jokers! I wished!!

Anyway, let see the spin for today. I had that article about Genetic Testing for DISCOVER Magazine (July 2003 edition), it's anything about Science, Medicine and High Technology, had me reading it for sometime when I'm bored. Everything in that magazine is purely interesting and adds knowledge.
Just a single drop of blood taken from each newborn determines the future of your child. Wow! Too good to be true isn't it. That single drop of red blood they will find out the blood type whether the baby has Type A, B, AB, or O. Any other blood type? Whatever! If you have a different blood type from the biological parents then you'll know that the baby is not yours or what could be the problem? SWITCH? Could be a witch? Who could be the culprit? The doctors and nurses? strangers? abductors? aliens?

Everyone's mental and physical future of the child depends on that single drop of blood. Are the machines that determine the spin perfect? Humans are not perfect so you think the spinner is perfect?

I recently watched the episode of "Young Sheldon" episode Research Study on twins. Sheldon and his twin sister were subjected by Dr. Sturgis on university research study about twins. They were put on live camera to take a test and answer questions candidly on visual cues. This is sort of psychological test assessment. This kind of test is also administered in University students (did you know?) The parents of Sheldon Cooper and his grandmother had their permission to do that research study for the twins and they received payment. Sheldon started being annoyed by so many questions about the picture of  chimps posing as "humans." He thought the researchers are monkeying about his intelligence while Missy saw a different perspective and her own manipulation of the situation has proven effective. At the end of this episode, Mrs. Cooper was able to show her motherly love and affection for her own daughter instead of being focused solely on one young Sheldon Cooper, the genius. I think geniuses can stand alone or join the club of genius.  The non-genius must have to start finding their own alliances.

The give and take process in the web of life sometimes is seen unfairly and unjust. Biased? Humans tend to help one another in times of adversity, in times of need. "You help me, I help you" process of the defining moment of truth is quite the norm. You help somebody because that person also helps you. Should be the case. But for some other people with all the wealth in the world helping is just part of being a Christian and maybe there is too much to give. Take this for example between Ellen Degeneres and Bill Gates. Ellen gave Bill a $20,000 worth shutterfly gift certificate to the loud cry and amazement of the studio audience. Why would Ellen give a gift to somebody who is the richest, wealthiest man in the world? How about why Bill Gates allow millions of people used his website for free, using email address for free and use his MSN or Microsoft Messenger for free? Some people don't see the FREEbies. Okay, probably because everyone pays the internet per month and that's part of the deal in the net using Microsoft software. Bill Gates had given so much loopholes since the very beginning of Microsoft. He is a human being and he also deserves something free. Just like the lucky people who received the free washer and dryer for this house we are currently staying. There you go...gotta wash the clothes and towels by hand again.

Don't you think I should be a University professor instead of being a laundry woman? You know I tried to be a substitute teacher when I was in Elementary school. Teacher for a week in High School and reporter/teacher in College for my feasibility study on cassava flour. Ha ha ha ha! Then next is my Sericulture project , pssssttttt... don't be noisy. The North Koreans got the silk already. Are we getting too slow or are we that fast?

At Your Own Risk

It's good to blog everyday as if there's no tomorrow then lately I'm feeling kind of tired. I'm so tired of the housework. I woke up early to make breakfast then proceed to cleaning the house and then the laundry. Then I have to cook meals. I have to do the laundry everyday because I don't like piling up big loads because the sink is too small for such laundry loads. I make sure that the water doesn't spill on the floor because it's vinyl laminated floor not ceramic tiles at the kitchen. I don't know what will happen with my hands because I'm using a washing machine detergent and wearing gloves just put my work uneasy and the twisting of clothes with gloves on? Such a hassle. What the hell! I don't know how long I can put myself in this situation. I wish that the weather changed according to my plan. And it changed! The clear blue sky suddenly cooperated, the foggy atmosphere suddenly fills the air and surrounding. Wow! That was so creepy!

I know, the premiere showing of Halloween at the cinema is up to timing with the spooky situation. Darn! Aren't we gonna have winter soon? It snowed already in Alberta especially in Edmonton and Calgary. Don't tell me British Columbia is spared from being a winter wonderland?

I wonder what will happen if its cold and snowy outside? What will happen with the laundry loads? We have dryer machine but no laundry machine. Would it be nice having washing machine with spinner instead of dryer? Then once dry outside maybe I can use my flat iron.  My precious flat iron that I've been using for the past 20 years.  Know what? The weather outside whether it's warm and sunny cannot dry the clothes, towels, or any kind of linen. The sunshine and air can only have the water drip from the wet (but already been twisted) clothes. The sun is just a giver of light at Fall and Winter time in Canada. Maybe at Summer time when the heat  or temperature outside is over 25 degrees then there's possibility that the clothes will be dry like perma- pressed dry. The weather temperature outside is only 14 degrees C today and will go down to 8 degrees C. yeah same old story. Probably boring for you to listen to and read and maybe so annoying already that I want you to read somebody else's blog. You don't have to read my blogs if it gets so annoying.

If it's over and over again then it's like the HALLOWEEN movie, over and over again and Michael Myers never die. The modern AI. Killer Cyborg. LOL. Just like those annoying old movies that is over and over again being put to programs on TV and we are paying for those reruns. What a shame! Then the non-stop news on news channel that's over and over again? FGS!!!!!!! WTH! Same old story, same old news. Same, same, shame!

What about sports? Are they over and over again? Are they reruns? Reruns and replays? Who knows? Who knew?

Are You An Encourager Or Demoralizer?

Why silver is considered a jewelry? Why not stainless steel be used for necklace, rings and earrings and bracelet instead of silver? I don't know why silver turns dark or black when it gets wet. Do you know why?
SEAL TEAM

SEAL TEAM: Episode "Worst Of Conditions"  had me thinking about the necklace that belongs to Alana Hayes (wife of Jason Hayes portrayed by David Boreanaz - the lead character of Seal Team and the actor who played in another TV Series BONES). Is that necklace with locket made of  silver? Last week episode, after a heart-pounding encounter with Arab rebels who had stolen anthrax and the elite team SEAL had to do what to do but serve and protect the population against terrorism. After coming back from their secret mission the members of the team had to deal with family matters that demoralized their physical and mental capacity. Jason had to deal with his wife who is a nagger and never seemed to understand the nature of his job and mentioned that he will die but later it was his wife who end up dead after the accident. Clay (actor Max Thieriot) also had bouts with demoralizer, his own parents-in-law who also had negative impact on him being a soldier. Are they Americans? They are supposed to be the back-up and the loyal people who should encourage the military to be at their best and closer family ties should bind and support their own families especially if they are the dependents of the military. That's their occupation. It's a decent job that pays with lots of benefits for the whole family. It's nothing to be ashamed of. It's the most rewarding occupation and you must thank  them for their service. You know common sense. I know, it's action drama and that calls for the story giving importance on the emotional aspect of what life is all about within the families of the members of the elite force SEAL TEAM. Ordinary soldiers are meant to be employed and deployed when there is war happening in countries where they are needed. Not all soldiers are into war, some of them are deployed and employed in different branches of the government. So many of them are employed in infrastructures: buildings, construction of bridges, canals, tunnels, pipelines, roads and highways. There are military engineers, pilots, lawyers, judges, astronauts, seamen, scuba divers, military surgeons, doctors, dentists, and military nurses. There are military priests and there were military presidents. Everything is determined through the rank and file. SEAL TEAM is for combat. Their mission is to stop, control, prevent any terrorist's acts and let see what happened next after next episodes of their remarkable MISSION.

Encourage people to do something good. Humans are supposed to be righteous and must be at their best to do the right thing.

It's A Bright New Day

Look! I'm wearing my newly sewed (sewn) long dress (maxi dress) this time. It took me less than an hour to create this type of dress with my reliable  "brother" sewing machine.

I know you are a bit confused upon seeing the new arrangement of the living room it's because we moved to another house, much bigger than previous house and have two workshops, bigger garage, big yard and big parking space for the 24 ft.boat with cabin and a parking space for utility trailer and space for two vehicles. It's great!

Not so great! After this blogpost have to do my laundry using my bare hands. I don't mind washing clothes using my hands but when winter comes, the water gets freezing cold outside and have to wash the clothes on the kitchen sink. I wish that my husband will install a utility tub inside the laundry room but no space there because the two big capacity washer and dryer machines are big enough to occupy such space. I don't know if there's a space there in the garage for such utility tub. Right now have to be patient and wait until all the works of my husband is finished. I don't think he'll have a spare time to do such work here at home because he's always busy. Landlord manager for townhouses and apartments is one of the busiest job ever.

I hate complaining. I want to do work without complaints because that's who I am but you know with blogs and novella everything must be detailed. And you wonder why Wilbur Smith is the best seller novelist because of the long details in his books of over 500 pages. I haven't bought his latest book yet, entitled "Courtney's War." I'm looking forward to reading the continuation of the love/mystery/adventure of  Saffron and Gerard.

Anyway...
I felt like Gloria Lavandera! LOL.

Wonderful Memories

I woke up before 7 am but don't want to get up from our bed. It's too dark outside as if it's only 3 am. Then I decided finally to  get up and have breakfast made for my husband. My husband was there at the living room sitting cozy in his recliner always early as ever, watching television news. "October 15!" I said to him and we both said, "Mom's birthday!"

Happy birth anniversary MOM! Wherever you are...probably in heaven because you are the most kindest, generous, thoughtful, loving and caring Mom and Mother-in-law in the world. You are my children's loving and caring grandmother.

If Mom's still alive today, she is celebrating her 99th birthday. What I remember most about her is her good-natured loving kindness, friendly, cheerful, smart and her humor is something unforgettable. She's  a great cook. She treated us with  the warmest welcome in her home all the time even if doesn't call for any particular occasion. I truly missed her. My whole family missed her. It took us quite a while, years to comprehend of this kind of loss. We've been mourning of her death since 2005, my husband, my children and I were affected emotionally. It was depressing to lose someone we love so much.

Death is something hard to forget. Birthdays are meant to celebrate life to the fullest no matter what those memories will live up to its expectation. Birthdays are always meaningful, joyous and happiness abound. Birthdays lift up good spirits and leap up to moments of truth. Wishing you MOM JEAN the best birthdays wherever you are, with us in spirit...with the GOD the CREATOR and with Dad BOB in Heaven.

TURNER FAMILY @ CHRISTMAS FAMILY DINNER

Shown here in the picture above: My husband and my children, 2 sisters-in-law, aunt , father-in-law and MOM JEAN standing by the table wearing gold and silver party dress she made for herself. She was a very talented dressmaker and great at crochet too. The crocheted table cover featured on this photo was created by her. Where am I in this photograph you may asked. As usual, I was the photographer for every memorable occasion in the family.

The most unforgettable memories with Mom is something I would cherish my whole life through. From the time that I first met her in 1992 to her last days on Earth. She taught me so many things that remind me of my ever-loving grandmother Honorata. The way she drives at age you thought how an old lady drives with confidence and assurance that you'll be safe with her through traveling on the highway.  She was age 73 that time and drove her car until age 81. Her funny humor and her laughter that is contagious. The way she guarded me when she wants me to learn how to crochet and sew a winter coat using patterns we bought at the local fabric shop. She was there with me in my weakest moment when I was sick until I recuperate. She was there when I had my first born Tyrel at the hospital. She was not religious but she believed that there is God and her faith is stronger than most. She believed that God is everywhere and I believed her. Thanks for the good but wonderful, beautiful memories and I will cherish the love you gave to my family especially to me, my husband and my children. Thank you for all the gifts and all that we received from your generosity we are truly gifted!

Return To My Sewing Project

My sister Emmy had given me some fabrics: 1 cotton with red and lilac  floral prints, 1 violet lace eyelets, 1 batik sari and 2 cotton tunics (1 with exotic design burgundy/white colors and 1 peach and yellow-orange floral embroidery) plus 3 spools of thread. Thanks my dear sister. I think that's her natural way of giving pasalubong from the Philippines.

I have spare time to do my sewing aside from worrying about doing the loads of laundry washing them by hands. Yep, manually using bare hands in washing clothes. Darn that machine. At least I have a sewing machine that leads me to do something creative aside from daily rants.

Daily musings and rants is most common than usual in the blogging community. You should join us once in a while for that creative commons of blogging.

The Right Of Tenants

You know what? Until now I can't believe that our washing machine broke down apparently because of those gravel and sand content. Where those sand and gravel came from? Totally weird. When we moved from Vermont in 2016 to the other house in a subdivision we didn't use the Kenmore washer instead we used the Frigidaire washing machine provided by Mr. Grant in his rental house. That was from year 2016 to September 29, 2018. Our Kenmore washing machine and dryer were stored in the garage from 2016 to September 27, 2018. When we moved here at this house we used the Kenmore washing machine because the washing machine and dryer machine in this house were donated or has been given to another person, don't know who.

What could be the problem with our Kenmore washer? The digital display had it stated on the screen as "nd" I first thought it stands for nostradamus. Ha ha! You think that's funny. It means "not draining." My husband called the technician and he said he was too busy. He just told my husband some few instructions to fix it. If we only have the instruction manual, my husband could probably fix it. The machine is real heavy. It's not easy to move this heavy machine. We tried to do the laundry using this Kenmore machine but it has the usual sign. After few days the technician came to fix it by vacuuming the sand. He fixed it he said and it already works. In just few minutes the machine is working? I paid him with the amount he asked.

Later, the machine was put to the test on 51 Setting (Normal wash/Cold & Warm water). The machine with our laundry clothes were spinning and tumbling down inside the metal basket. Then it get stuck to 10 setting. It stopped there for the rest of its cycle. You know the clothes didn't get twisted or it seems that they are not properly washed. For the long duration of the cycle the clothes were not really not clean. What the hell this machine is acting up. Total disappointment.

So I decided that it's best to just wash the clothes, towels, and all the laundry by hand. It's hard work! I don't mind washing by hand. Hang the clothes outside and let sunshine dry them but even the sun doesn't cooperate. It was sunny for the past 10 days and the sun what kind of sun we had? The sun was up there in the sky but it was just a huge light it gives. OMG! We are now in the year 2018 so the SUN actually is just a huge giant bulb or satellite. Get real! I know Science and Physics. No need to brag. Unless if you are in Fort Bragg. So there's  really need fort he dryer machine to dry our clothes. Because the wind is not that pleasing have to use sweet scented fabric softener or the clothes will smell like the ocean smell. It's good that our Kenmore dryer machine works well at this point in time.

Darn! What a conspiracy. I hope it's not a backdraft movie. Could it be that the Kenmore washing machine has that robotic function of sucking out sand from the ocean. Who knows, the beach is just walking distance from us. It could suck oil too maybe if the robotic washer Kenmore try so hard to suck up. You know that the washer and dryer machines are costly! We can't afford a set of these machines. I search over the internet and a washer machine costs about $459 + tax and it's not a known brand name. Do I have to wish that somebody rich and wealthy will donate us new washing machine or the landlord should provide us with new washing machine and dryer because landlord should provide 5 appliances for the rental homes anywhere, everywhere in Canada. It's part of the lease or deal when you are a tenant or renting houses. Besides, it was them who offered this house to us.

Yeah, maybe nd really stands for nostradamus. Kenmore would probably suck up the lighthouse if it needs too.

Life Goes On Whether You Like It Or Not

Husband and I recently celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary. It was a quiet celebration and spectacle of food we didn't invite anybody. Nobody even remember about the date. It was actually the same date when my parents-in-law ( Mom Jean Belle & Robert James) tied the knot. I bet if my in-laws are still alive today they are the first people to greet us. But I know they are both in heaven now. I'm still having nostalgia about them specifically because they are look-alikes of Rosalind Franklin and Dr. Watson. J/K. They probably are laughing in heaven when I  said that.

At age 55... I don't have amnesia and I don't have alzheimers so,  I still can remember the date. I'm blessed that I am married to the husband for 27 years and we are faithful to each other despite of the many odds and ends. We have three kids actually they are young adults age 25 and the twins are age 24. I first thought wont have any children because it took me quite a long time to get pregnant.

Life goes on for most of us and time passes by so quickly. The weather keeps changing don't know if I have to believe the meteorologists on their weather forecast as if its related to the sports news on TV.

TV. TV. There are so many television news, shows and series: SEAL Team, The Good Doctor, FBI, Gifted, Young Sheldon, TBBT, Superstore, Survivor (Goliath Vs David), Hell's Kitchen, TWD, etc that keep us occupied aside from being busy from housework and outside work. Watching TV is a form of relaxation being seated after doing heavy work. I also work at home. We don't have housemaid because I am the domestic diva at home. I cooked everyday meals, do the housecleaning, laundry (manually since the washing machine malfunctioned) and it's not a laughing matter because you know housemaids, nanny and caregivers in Hongkong are paid from HK$ 2,800 to HK$3,000/month and if you are a housemaid in Canada you get to be paid C$ 1,500/month with medical and dental benefit.

Housework is not just a decent occupation it's heavy work, it's hardwork that's why some women or housewives would rather work outside of their comfort zone, work in the office and dress like professionals because cleaning houses, toilets and the mess inside the house can make you unfabulous, deglam, and can put you in bad situation. I mean the uneducated think housekeeping is low life. Well, uneducated, you should educate yourself because most housemaids are College Grads. Housekeeping is "a very decent job." You don't have to climb the social ladder.

10? is it Alpha Omega?

It's not the end of the world as we know IT. Actually it's the BEGINNING of the END. Life passes as time passed us by.

So many wonderful stories. So many curiosities out there. No one is satisfied with the key words. Too many key questions: WHO, WHAT, WHY, WHERE & WHEN.

Another Hurricane is about to cause havoc once again to the place where hurricane originates. I don't know why. That area where the mixing happened from the sky, is that where the ozone layers supposed to open? Or it's the area of the planet that vacuums the polluted air out from Earth?

It would be great if somehow we are on another planet and we can see what is happening from earth below. There could be a wind tunnel down there. Could be the end unit of the earth and as it rotates sideways to the inter-galactic spins west side to east side or vice-versa east side to west side. Then the North Pole is tilted once the snow overflow as it is too heavy for the earth to spin its axis. You know mixing of ice cream is somewhat to that effect. The mixing of cement in a cement mixer truck is just like that. Anyway, thermodynamic is not easy to explain. Ask the scientists to explain that for you.

It's October so the layers of the Ozone is probably visible and then to close down after November. It could be earlier depends on Global warming effect.

I don't know how strong the Michael hurricane. The hurricane is named for male and typhoon is usually named as females. It's different now time changed in our generation that male names for hurricane and typhoons are much powerful and can cause too much destruction.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Before the day ends
Let me greet everybody
HAPPY BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

We thank God everyday
every night before we go to sleep
We thank God for all the blessings
For looking after all of us
For the love and care
For everything.
Gratitude is a matter of words and action
Actually more than words can say
More than an action
Action speaks louder than words
But God doesn`t like loud people
because He is not deaf
He can see everything, and He can hear everything
Before you know something
He knew it before you know it
Darn, sorry for being annoying
I`m just happy and thankful and hope that you feel the same way.

Nothing's Perfect!

It's not a very pleasing morning today. Already 9 am and it feels like 5 am only. It's raining once again at the island. Husband went boating to fish and crabbing (with 2-3 set of crab traps on the boat) and with 3 other people to go with him in the ocean. They went at 7 am only to come back at past  8:35 am. Problem with the boat.

I started with my laundry, hand-washing clothes, manually with my own bare hands. Wow! Since we moved in to this house our Kenmore washing machine broke down. It doesn't drain and spin. It was fixed by the repairman from WPA. He said it's done and its working. It didn't. He just vacuumed sands and small gravel from the spout. I don't know what he did to the machine. I was not looking at what he is doing at the laundry room and don't know what he did with the washing machine. My husband also tried to fix it using the manual handbook but unsuccessful. Whatever!

Anyway, my beautiful hands... will be wrinkled. Aging will be unstoppable. lol. Arte! Water is solitude. I love water so I should not be discouraged about touching water everyday.

OMG! LOL. Vanity, vanity! I don't really mind the manual washing of clothes but I will have problem washing comforters and bed sheets because they are huge (Queen size). I don't have utility tub with faucet. I'm used to having the bed sheets and comforter, bedspreads or bedcovers washed and cleaned every week so that would be a problem.

I asked my husband if the owner of the house (landlord) has a washer and dryer for the house but they moved out their machines and were donated or given to somebody else I think.

Yeah, me complaining again. I have too many complaints. Well, turned out it's my husband who asked the landlord to have those washer and dryer removed so that we can use the energy-efficient machines. Darn! We bought those Kenmore machines as brand new at Sears in 2011.

I'm glad that the dryer machine is almost perfect and not causing any problem. I hope not or I will go ballistic.

For the meantime, I'll be washing our clothes by hands. I have to be thankful that we have enough water to do the laundry. Water is gold and water is everything that makes life worthy for living.

Underneath Your Skin

How many times at present time when the person you know is not the same person you know in the past. Is it because humans can change its facial feature, they grow older or because maturity sets the standard that age is just a matter of numbers.

Who doesn't age or show signs of maturity? Who never gets old and stays young for the rest of their lives? Who was able to keep their face younger than who they really are? Without wrinkles, without acne scar, without blemish nor blackheads. Hm, who found the fountain of youth? I don't think anybody has found it. They probably had botox injection or have masked themselves with thick make-up or prosthetics.

Disguise. Do you disguise yourself? What and why you need a cover?  Running away? Hiding or being hideous? Your profession made you do it as Undercover?

How many times disguises are used in millions of movies? There are many movies that the lead actors or actress used cover for their roles, it calls for the story what can you do? Tom Cruise is one of them of too many actors who used masks or cover for the role he portrayed in movie "Mission Impossible." FBI stories had them too. Lately, "Hell's Kitchen" of Masterchef Gordon Ramsey had the "Veterans" disguised themselves to the amazement of  the "Rookies." They wore tight-skin masks and they wore wigs to cover their faces and heads. Hard to believe that there is that type of mask.  For those who like zombie masks I think you can buy them at Dollarama or at Walmart.

Where to buy those masks? Expensive mask? It could be if its cover your face like almost the second skin, too tight to be recognized as fake. You wont be able to purchase this in department stores anywhere. You have to ask the FX illusionist or make -up artists of production companies, the Universal Studio, Columbia Pictures and other huge film production companies.

Now the million dollar question is how many people or how many humans wear that kind of disguises? That the billion of population of the world could only be just 200 millions?

Here's the thought for the day: What if your husband is actually the husband of  hundred wives? That your husband is actually a human with hundred faces. King of Siam.

What about Helen? The face that launched a thousand ships. She could be the opposite of the husband with hundred wives. Ahahahhaha! Not funny! It's not to be laughed at but I thought that's ridiculous.

Whenever you are reluctant or you are experiencing AAC (Approach-Avoidance Conflict) when faced with strangers, you could probably choose grab the face of that stranger if its the true real face or fake face. You know... you gotta be sure.

Justice Must Be Served

I first thought the next big election in Canada will be held next year 2019 but some of the hopefuls are already gearing up their platform. Advance or way too early but it's better too early than too late and you get a dark chocolate.

In between my takes for housework, I have time to relax and watch TV News. It's been more than a week that the television networks were airing dirty laundry on one American politician because of his exploits with a woman whom he  allegedly sexually  assaulted in the past. Why now? Why the woman suddenly accused the man who is to be the next SCJ? Really? I don't know the true real story. But you know what? If it's true,  RACISM, BULLYING, HARASSMENT, CHEATING & LYING has no place in the government. I think the PRISON and jails have enough space for the criminals, abusers and sex offenders.

Women should be respected whether they are your Mothers, Sisters, Aunts, Daughters, Nieces, Siblings, Cousins, all women are women and they deserved to be respected and treated fairly well. Treat others the way you treat yourself.

Then you as a man said "that's unfair!"

Men are totally different from women physically, emotionally and psychologically. However, based from logic and right reasoning and based from evidence or proof  women always gets the  fair trial and judgment. Justice will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

It's A Matter Of Time

What else is new? The usual day to day happenings are a bit of a bore sometimes and glad that we moved out from that house so that we have something new to talk about. Others are happy getting out of their comfort zone because they go on for holidays or vacation away from their homes they owned for twenty years and or fifty years. My husband is the kind of person who is happy leaving a house after two years or when lease expires. Why? Maybe it gets so boring that's why. Or he wants a general cleaning of the house.

My family in Philippines had that same process of moving from one house to another, from different location within the province of Luzon it's because my father was a soldier (now retired)  and we moved to another location after location on where he was assigned for employment.

There are so many things to do in this fairly new house. I'm taking it one day at a time. I have to organize the shelves at the garage. Housecleaning continues...actually everyday. I had finished cleaning the blinds for the windows. My husband has plan to buy curtains or drapery for the windows at the living room and at the kitchen. Whatever! Only time can tell.

Pepperoni/cheese pizza for lunch. Dinner? Always that question. How about you what's for your supper?

Let me have my snacks first.

I Think I Was Born To Be A Bitch!

It was kind of cold this morning that my husband turned on the gas fireplace. Then I turned it off when he left for work and open the back door because when I'm cooking I want the fumes to get out from  inside the house. There's an exhaust fan for the stove but that's not enough to suck the hot smoke when I'm frying something for breakfast. Besides, if you don't open the windows and doors at the kitchen, the smoke lingers inside the house and that's bad for health.

First thought everything's okay now but there are other things that need to be done like the many scratches on the walls at the kitchen that need repainting. The sliding door's latch  needs to be replaced. It was fixed by my husband but it worked for a day then the next time is it wont lock. It was a problem before we moved in. It has a different lock now. Husband informed the landlord but no answer yet. Our own washing machine malfunctioned with the same problem of not draining properly. He called the technician to fix it. He came and fixed it and gave the receipt amounting to $94.50. I started the laundry after and this time the washing machine spinned and tumbled down the clothes inside from 41 minutes to 10 and got stuck to 10 for more than 15 minutes. What is wrong with this machine? I hate digitalized machines. I think it's being powered through satellites or being powered outside of the remote location. Informed my husband about it and when arrived he checked on it and start the laundry again to 41 and now it has that digitalized information of  a strange symbol.

Well, $ 94.50 for a 10 minute job is what do you think it is? What the hell!!!!! If you think I'm such a bitch or being bitchy here it's because I know the value of money. The minimum wage for a worker in British Columbia is only $12/hour and for just barely 10 - 15 minutes of work you get to be paid for that specified amount of $94.50 then that's total BS! Pardon me for being such a bitch! It's not fair.

Some people will call me bitchy or rude but I know millions of people will benefit from my kind of attitude. Look, I don't like being fooled, being taken advantage of. You can't find that amount of money from being a salesclerk or for being a cook.  We all are human beings and to have that crappy job that pays so much and the work is not properly been done that's a total absolute void. Do your work properly, diligently and work because that's the kind of job you like to do for the rest of your life.

Done with sorting out clothes from those boxes. I will throw some of those clothes no need to give them away because I already ripped those tags that show it's brand name. You know some people bought clothes because of its designer's name but when I bought clothes/dress, tops, pants have to take those brand name's tags because it bothers my neck and skin. Yeah, some people are different from the others and few beings are aliens.

Don't get me wrong. Many love the way I behave and made fun of it. They are happier and because of this fun entertainment they get to live their lives longer. I prolong their lives. Prescription for the bored and unhappy: Lithium.

Change, change, change for the better

OMG! It's been one week of busyness for my family because of the moving process. If I have to write the whole story it would be hurtful for others to read so better calm down here and cool down. As of now it's a bit cool actually because it's raining. Husband has to meet the realtor today. I had just finished cooking our dinner of pancit canton with tender pork, shrimps, veggies and the usual china lily sauce, all time favorite soy sauce. My husband went shopping by himself because I was busy sorting out clothes. Our new bedroom closet is smaller compared from previous closet that we had. The closet we had before was the size of a small room that can fit in a double bed or a single bed with bedside table. It was a walk-in closet. Now the closet is the size of  2  cabinets or book shelf. Now I'm using the headdress cabinet with drawers and another drawer cabinet (3 tier, the other drawer got broken). That happens when moving. At least the china cabinet (curio) and the dining table was spared from being ripped or broken through the moving process.

The agony of moving is you get to move stuff, heavy stuff, heavy boxes and heavy furniture. It's not a laughing matter. My back was sore and my legs hurt and my toes are so sore and in pain. The pain is simply irritating. I think my husband's back and legs are also in pain. Never again. I hate moving! Change of address, change of area code, change of telephone number. Change, change, change...
Magastos! We're not rich! I hope some people wont take advantage of us. We are just living on paycheck to paycheck just like most Canadians do. And some others are stingy and ? Whatever!
There are humans who live in their modest home called mansion with 10 maids and go for vacation anywhere they wanted. They get by by borrowing work tools from others instead of renting them saving them enough money to splurge the amount in their next holidays. Darn! Sorry! Play Sorry if you want. You can play Bulgars and trap the pirates instead.

So, we cleaned this new house before we moved our belongings, furniture, appliances, etc. and we cleaned the former rented house so that we can get our security deposit right away. It was a thorough cleaning that also includes wall painting. We hired a professional carpet cleaner to shampoo the carpet. Mr. Bob did a great job working on those 3 bedrooms with carpet and the carpeted stairs were also thoroughly steamed clean properly. He used a powerful solution to sanitize the carpet which is awesome. When we move to that former house, the owner didn't have the walls repainted when they should, so the walls are repainted too and those holes and dings were also patched up. The new tenants can choose now which part of the wall to hang frames/pictures. But you know, we want everything clean and neat and in order before we left that house. That's how we are.

I was not done cleaning the garage here at our newfound home. It's not filthy in anyway shape or form it's just that with all the boxes that need sorting out, what to throw away and what to keep is a matter of time. There are lots of shelves in the garage but can't believe that they are already occupied with all those boxes of canned salmons, and some work tools. Husband had his stainless steel shelves but that too is full of his work tools. There are two workshops (one almost the size of a small house) at the backyard and that maybe some of the stuff such as work tools are going for storage. So much of those work tools. We don't need to rent a storage saving $150/month. Thank God!

It's a blessing that the return of security deposit was given right away today by Mr. Grant. There are many things to be thankful for despite of the hardship of moving from one place to another. Thanks to the friends we have who helped us moved. Our two neighbors were kind of sad that we wont be neighbors anymore. It would take at least least 10 to 15 minutes to see them if we drove by there. Of course we'll miss Cheryl. Thanks for your gift and your thoughtfulness means a lot. Then Stacey and her family... Anyway, told Stacey that  they can come over and visit and or maybe, we can drop by there once in a while and see Freddie and Deetoo. I first thought Veto is Deetoo. Huh!? lol reminds me of something else.

Maybe it's worth it.  Maybe this is a better home for my family. Pictures? I'm not in the mood to photograph the features of my  "new home" (actually not a brand new home, maybe 20 years old house) and it's new compared to the many over 30 to 50 years old houses.
