Human Nature

It was such a pleasant day yesterday, sunny and warm enough to be outside the yard while my husband cut the grass after cutting the grass in the apartment at his place of work. He brought along with him bamboo sticks (bamboo poles) from the workplace, told him that I want to be there to shoot pictures of the cutting of bamboo and to get bamboo shoots so that I can plant here at the yard. However, the property manager/owner doesn't like us planting bamboo because it can get too crowded. Bamboo is a grass and it's a wild grass. So no bamboo here to be planted anywhere outside the house. Darn! My dream of "crouching tiger, hidden dragon" theme has been stopped abruptly. Anyway, just to show you that bamboo grows in this part of the island and I'm holding bamboo poles and they are real bamboos.

What am going to do with this bamboo? For the garden? for barbecue sticks?

Let us cook once again. Omelette: of course the main ingredient are eggs, garlic, onions, tomatoes, salt, ground  pepper,  zucchini, sausages.

Pork pinakbet's ingredients: Garlic, onions, tomatoes, salt, ground pepper, pork, eggplant, bittermelon, gaylan, soy sauce, oyster sauce and chili-pepper.

Pancit: Farkay noodles as main ingredient, garlic, onions, pork, shrimps, salt, ground pepper, soy sauce, veggies (carrots, cabbage)

Grilled/baked salmon topped with mayonnaise, salt, ground pepper and ground oregano. broiled salmon with lemon juice, salt, ground pepper and onions.

New Plants For My Garden

Garden plants, fruit and berry food we bought from the Campbell River Garden Centre.  Sure they have all what we want for our garden. We found the Logan berries so we bought 2 berry plants. They have two species of dahlia that we don't have in our collection so we bought the smokey amethyst and cherry flame. Beautiful, adorable colors and I hope they surely enlighten the gardens.

When I spotted the sunflower seeds something brighten up my face. I always wanted to have huge sunflower in the garden. According to the information on its sachet, the "Large Russian" is the best seed ever because it can grow up to 12 ft. and it's flower head can expand up to 14" in diameter. Wow! Really? I also bought that Sunflower Mammoth from Superstore. I don't know which one is larger so have to plant them to find out. The daisy of course is just a sprinkle of those seeds just to cover the ground between the sunflowers.

Can you identify this plant with only branches, stem, and buds? Of course not unless if you are very knowledgeable of the Plant Kingdom.

Knowing there's a tag for each plant then you'll know which one is hydrangea and lilac. This plant is lilac.

Look at blueberry plant and you'll also be confused. Because without fruits, leaves and flowers on its branches, lilac, hydrangea and blueberry are almost the same variety of plant.

GoldiLocks

Once in a while there is sort of dramatic sequence happening in my blog due to something unforeseen circumstances and you can't see it happening unless if you are a hacker. lol. ha ha.

See, I can laugh at this. I have to laugh have some comedy sort of rather than being grumpy and grouchy the whole day and next days to come. I don't like adding wrinkles to my face. No way. Truth, is don't have wrinkle yet on my face at age 56. I have gray hairs, rather call it silver hair. I started having gray hair (maybe about two or three) when I was age 14. When I saw one for the first time I pulled it out. I was scared at first then knowing my mother had gray hairs also at a very young age, so it's hereditary. Her hairs turned gray as in "mostly gray hairs and less black hairs" at age 40. Now all her hairs really gray, all gray and silver no black hair whatsoever. I don't know why she never dye her hair black. She's a mestiza so probably her hair was actually originally her locks.

Know why? I don't know why didn't bother asking her. Maybe its better for her because she gets the respect from younger generation or you can get the respect you need as "one of the old people, the seniors who are to be trusted, respected and be heard because senior citizens get the voice in a community."

For sometime, my "baby face, youthful appearance" had its menacing effect as in some people I don't know nor they know me personally can't believe I'm older than them. At place of work, some younger  workers thought  we are in the same age bracket. Or when I applied for work after I graduated from College, my youthful face seemed to be a bothersome. I have to apply thick make-up for me to look matured enough. When I was in College, security guards at the gate at the University usually  thought I was one of those High School students and I don't wear the uniform. Yuck! Darn it. it was always like that. I was already age 28 and even my own mother-in-law teased her own son that my husband is a cradle snatcher. lol. I should not dye my hair or let it all out.

I don't know why we have to call gray hairs when its white.

It's Thursday and what else to look forward to today is household chores as usual or spend time weeding out and preparing the floral bed for sunflowers as I already spent 2 hours and a half at the backyard yesterday under the heat of the sun cultivating the soil. It takes a lot of hard work. It's not funny.
This is my plan for the garden, along the wall (wooden fence) with the white wooden arbor where the trellis of climbing clematis will grow and climb. In between the two clematis plants are 12 ft. high sunflowers with 10 to 14 inches wide, enormous sunflower head. That big? Yeah I know can't believe that those sunflowers are hybrid and what to expect when it's just a plan. I'm not finish pulling all the unnecessary grass, pebbles and debris alongside the fence. It will take time.

Search For Hibiscus

Atlas! The sun shines brightly today at about 8:23 AM. The clouds covered the sun for hours and hours and it was cold. Yes it is still cold out there would you believe? To postpone gardening is to postpone planting plants that we bought yesterday from the Garden Centre. I first thought having all the dahlia tubers and daffodils would be enough for the floral bed. However, my husband would like to have Logan berries to be planted at the backyard together with all other berries such as: blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries, strawberries and raspberries. Too many berries. OMG! Not my fault nor my husband's fault. Those berries were planted at the backyard before we moved in to this house we are currently occupying.

My daughter and I looked for hibiscus or any plant that's worthy of our taste. It would be nice if they have chiffon hibiscus (gumamela). It's hard to believe that a tropical plant can thrive in this island but maybe this island was once a part of the tropical island in the Pacific. It still is in the Pacific unless if it moves every turn of the century or every hundred years.

It's me -> in Vancouver island Year 2014 and the beautiful hibiscus at the background
To look for another species of hibiscus within the island is somewhat near impossible...not many of them.  There are plenty of hydrangea in different variety though. Search for hydrangea now?

or blue hydrangea, maybe cherry blossom tree, or mandevilla. I asked the old lady at the Garden Centre  if they have hibiscus. I asked what color of hibiscus they have. She didn't reply maybe my voice is not loud enough. Then she showed me the plant with flowers on it already, it was beautiful but it's not hibiscus,  it's a camelia. LOL. We searched for perennials and annuals, there are shrubs and bushes and small, younger trees of blossoms (cherry blossoms of different variety) and there are over 4 ft. tall of  blossoms trees and they are worth $90+/each,  there are also fruit-bearing younger trees planted in gallons and pots. I would like those cherry blossoms trees. But... you know the purse belongs to my hubby. We're in Canada! The purse belongs to the husband not to the wife.

There are too many to choose from actually when it comes to pretty, good looking annuals and perrenials.

My husband likes the rhododendron or azaleas because of its purple colored flowers.  I don't like those plants. He went inside the store to buy some other tubers and plant food. Outside the store, at the yard where all rows of plants: perennials, shrubs and annuals are located... I spotted  hydrangea, there are variety in different colors (purple, crimson, white). The clusters of this variety is not shaped like a dome but an upward cone shown on its tag. It's weird. I was pointing at it when I asked my daughter to take pictures of me. I already had chosen one hydrangea in white color and then my husband arrived and had chosen his own plant with already buds on its branches visible to our vision. Only to find out that it was a white lilac when I lifted the tag. Yup, make sure to see the TAG first in buying a young plant with no leaves, no flowers but only branches and a small trunk. At first, I was disappointed then later I was relieved and happy to have known that lilac is better than hydrangea. I mean, lilac is fragrant, its blossoms have long lasting fragrance and also a beautiful flowering plant.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As usual, somebody is doing a menacing hacking on my blogpost. They are not aware that I can see how they are hacking my computer. Those hackers are weirdos! You think I will stop from blogging?
Why don't you guys work on your own and use your own brain and make a blog of your own. Why are you into my blogs FOR GOD SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are changing the spelling of the words I'm typing. You are changing it to wrong spelling and wrong grammar sentences. WTH!!!!! I'll have this for a draft and have to publish later.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's too early to see hanging baskets of mandevilla and petunias. March is too early for the search for tropical plants especially in Canada.

That's Entertainment

In my spare time, when I'm not busy have to relax by watching TV or movies. I rented the latest movie of the Avengers, it's the THE AVENGERS: Infinity War. It's an action-packed suspense thriller when evil aliens invaded planet Earth and your favourite heroes were captured inside the alien's space  craft. How to save heroes from their ultimate demise is to have another group of heroes trying to rescue them and the whole planet from being annihilated. How and why an evil villain wants all the colored gemstones? What kind of power he can accumulate in order to have them? It turned out each stone has corresponding supernatural power and magic and each stone represents Infinity, Reality, Space, Soul, Time and ? what? Those stones belong to each of those heroes and if their stones were taken their lives are taken and they have no power whatsoever because they are dead.

The first 3 stones has initials of   I  R  S

The ending of this movie is somewhat sad. So I told myself there's probably another sequel after this movie. Yeah, so true there is another movie coming soon and it's entitled: THE AVENGERS: End Game?

Well, you don't want your favorite hero dying or end up dead, so... be it.

UNIVERSE is much, much better! Larger Than Life

MY BLOG - MY WORLD, my latest new blog and now wishing to replace it with MY BLOG + MY UNIVERSE. I'm the AUTHOR OF MY BLOGS and I can do anything with its content and its theme. My Blog My World is getting crowded, getting OA and getting too small. Most of all the word WORLD is getting overused. I rather not be affiliated with some people using the WORLD too much for their own gain. I don't like being associated with people using the word WORLD. Ha ha! Taray ko!!

UNIVERSE is much larger, in its infinity. So, from now on it's now renamed
MY BLOG + MY UNIVERSE

OMG! I think I'm getting hungry. What to eat?

Grilled beef steak, and grilled pork, steamed buttered asparagus, blueberry zucchini muffins with cheese, blueberry/zucchini/cheese cake without frosting, Uncle Ben's wild rice, pancit or chow mein.

 Pork/shrimps/potatoes stew

Steamed rice, panfried pork loins with wine, steamed corn and green peas + pasta noodles

Beef adobo

This is it for today. Happy eating!

Winter Is Over! Officially it's Springtime

It's official, first day of Spring today. I hope winter is really over. And what else is new? The early news brought to you by the news network: Brexit Exit From the EU. The EU don't know what to do whether to grant the extension it needs to UK. The question of which it took long years for them to decide and they voted for their exit from EU and now days and time is fast approaching and the British are having the anxiety. I think it's just normal whether they are feeling the angst of their exit from the RING of large European Union, group of European countries with common aim, goals and unified truth. It would be a great problem for those whose business are within the boundary of both sides and those workers who will have to deal with the excess expenses and excess access from different direction. It was convenience on all sides then it will be chaotic and problematic on all borders after.

Did we have that kind of problem here in Canada? When I first arrive here in this country, the access from British Columbia to Alaska or from BC to Seattle USA is much convenient because Canadians do not need to have VISA or no need to use passport between borders. Americans can come freely to Canada without the need for VISA or passport as if both countries are just one. There's no ocean that separate BC from Seattle to California. You can go for a long drive without hassle. It's accessible and at that time the economy is better. There's no conflict whatsoever to commute by land  from America to British Columbia to Alaska (even if Alaska once belong to Russia. Alaska is  a state of  USA and was bought for $1M in 18th Century).  Because of  convenience of access the economy is much, much better on both sides of the border. Look at Philippines, on every border you just have to pay the toll gate. You are already passing "another asian country" and you are just to pay the toll gate. lol.

Then for whatever reason that changed of leaders led to chaos, disagreement on trade and commerce and the protocol on the issue of environmental hazards and global warming brought these two allied countries to keep each other borders guarded on the ground of security.

Whatever! You need a comb to brush your hair straight. If you have split ends and dandruff? Use dandruff shampoo with conditioner. Is there a spring shower today? I hope so... the ground is dry you know? For those who are already bald, then make it shine.

Just pray that today will be a blessing of goodwill and the fragrance of spring flowers in the air. If you are looking for dry dandelions and cottonwood wait for summertime.

OMG!!!!!!!!!! It's Getting Hot!

The weather temperature is rising. Mercury rising!! Our stove is rising up too... in temperature especially when I'm using the oven and stove.

I wished we have a new barbecue grill but my husband threw our metal BBQ grill/stove in the dumpsite when we moved here at the house in late September of 2018. Anyway, by just looking at how perfectly grilled spare ribs featured above you'll know that the indoor oven does it better.

Steamed jasmine rice, barbecued grilled spicy  ribs and sauteed mixed vegetables and that's suit the day.
Next, it would be nice to have a platter of hot farkay chowmein noodles with choice of tender meat and fresh veggies and shrimps but  maybe tomorrow. Once a week noodles is just good enough.

There, right there. The proof that it's really getting hot. 15 degrees C. is really HOT  outside in this part of the world. It's gonna get hotter the next day and next days to come. Why 21 degrees inside? That's when the oven is on and the windows are closed due to >> don't like those bugs coming inside the house, that's why.

Day Of Pruning

PRUNING - the horticultural practice or process of pruning; removal of unwanted parts or unwanted branches, buds, roots and shoots of any plant or trees.

It's Saint Patrick's Day. Cheers! We're out in the yard to do our share of cleaning and clearing out.

My husband started yesterday with pruning of the climbing vines of berries: blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, including the clematis.

He used a special pair of shears to cut those dead, unwanted branches and leaves so that new buds will grow. The weather temperature seemed favorable but the bugs are buzzing and they are everywhere. Some stubborn noizziums bit my chin. Wow! How these tiny minute creatures can bite as if its a blood sucker. Its worst than mosquitoes. Yuck!

Today, my husband and I sweat it out doing gardening at the yard, the weather is hot at about 15 degrees C. Weeds such as clovers and dandy lions (ha ha! I mean dandelions) around the side of the house were then pulled out and thrown in the big, sturdy brown paper bags. My husband said he will buy a bonemeal or fish compost for the soil intended for the vegetable garden. Oh my, can't wait for the real spring time so that we can start planting.

I need to do something to keep me busy aside from doing household chores, blogging and watching TV and computer works. Working with pay should be the best option but you know who's employer is paying? Most of the work in Canada are "volunteer work." I wonder if ever those politicians are paid for their work the way they are blaming each other, on how they work to serve their country and people and how they represent the people who helped them have their seats at the Parliament. There are too many problems out there and if you are concentrated on one problem only  for over a year or for over months and months  without proper solution how they can help others and multiple of problems that need immediate solution?

Yeah, the blame game. Pruning is the process of doing it right. Do what is necessary to keep those plants and trees to survive. It's the same with humans. Human beings who are valuable and important part of your family, of your community should be given the choice to live and survive. What are doctors for? They have the oath of saving lives and must partake in humanity as in being there, ever present to do their job and serve and SAVE. Doctors and nurses who are not doing their job properly are then deployed to war-torn countries for medical training so that they can further serve and expand their skills . How to save a life. That's right! Choose your way of life?  Pray for the sick and the dying. Pray for miracle. We all need miracles.

Long Lasting Memory is Forever

Cheating in schools, cheating in order to be admitted in schools and university. Is that normal? Is that common? O_M_G! As if you don't know and not aware that cheating happens for a reason and it happens almost everyday, everywhere around the world. ? Really?  I don't know why it becomes the norm and I don't know why some people allowed the cheating and why some people are caught and why only now it was exposed? There are probably millions of them who had cheated their way to College or cheated their way to Board Exams to get the license. WHY?

Will you doubt a student who is very, very smart from Elementary to High School and then didn't pass the College Entrance Test? Will you have any doubt on intelligent students who were really bright from Elementary, High School to College and yet unable to pass the Board Exam for Engineering? Or a very smart student who has lots of potential and cannot pass the Board Exam for Accountancy that the Board can't give that person the CPA License,  label so that he can practice his skills? Or a bright student who had a problem passing the Board to become a Lawyer even if he is a former son of the President of the United States? JFK Jr. kept on testing himself, when he was alive. If he failed the first time, he tried the second one until he passed. Was he embarrassed that he didn't pass the first time?  He didn't use his family's connection. There are many humans who were born with silver spoon in their mouth who opposed the use of connection. You can always applaud them and respect them for their good values.

When somebody suffers, you can suffer with them. Not the kind of suffering of Jesus Christ. I meant it in a different way.

Why the most intelligent humans have to suffer? I like to ask that to myself when I was at the time of having my education from Elementary to College. The suffering was actually in terms of financial not the suffering of the minds. I think I have so much minding my own "business and minding other people's business." In my own mind that feels like a computer, actually I was called a robot and a statue. I don't show much feelings when I was in school. I don't smile. I was unable to laugh. The world is mine. I have a world of my own and if I want to include them in my own world then so be it.
I'm not bragging. I am not a genius just like the way "Young Sheldon" portrayed himself. Maybe if there is a computer way back then or I have a complete set of encyclopedia maybe there is a chance that I would end up like a genius, just like Dr. Jose Rizal. LOL. But our knowledge are limited in Elementary. Limited in the sense that textbooks provided by the teachers and schools are always enclosed inside the glass/steel cabinet and we relied on the teacher's lesson plan. Remember the limit of your knowledge depends on what your teacher has taught you in class and that's the one you have to study and memorize for exams. Easy? Not when those written lessons occupied your notebooks in 10 to 15 pages. Not if you have to memorize poems longer than 25-30 stanzas and recite the poem the next day after writing the poem on the blackboard to the notebook. Or all the 8 subjects you have to study (English, Pilipino, Math, Social Studies, Science, Music, Arts, P.E.) you are to follow rote system and have exams in all those 8 subjects within that day. Why the rote system? Most of the tests given are mostly enumeration. Well, as if you don't have household chores, as if you are not to fetch water until the drum is full of water at night until midnight. Education is not that easy in Philippines. Maybe it would be convenient if somehow you have all the financial capability not only in paying tuition fees but also in transportation, like being driven with air-conditioned car from home to school-school to house. It would be nice if that time you can avail of the fashion. It would be nice if you have bought all the required textbooks. It would be nice if the schools are equipped with all the convenience of schools and university with locker and clean washrooms. The schools during my time,  what the hell!!!!!! Where's the washroom? OMG!!!!!! Crazy! You have to run home and be like Supergirl or Superman to get to your home when you need to move your bowel. What if you have diarrhea? Darn it!

From Grade  1 to Grade 6 from High school... I learned to control my bowel movement. I made sure not to have breakfast. I made sure not to have any beverage, water or any kind of drinks in the morning. I think all my classmates had the same kind of bladder control. Or maybe they run home without me seeing them. They could be flying home. lol. Well, that's my concern. I looked and cared for my grade school classmates because I was a student-teacher. It was my responsibility to look after them because I was their Class President. I checked on them for their attendance, their test results, etc. etc. I had my VP,  Secretary, PRO, Auditor, Treasurer and Sgt. at Arms. I kept the classroom in orderly arrangement of things and made sure that we have school supplies, made sure the discipline is reached within boundary of the room. It was like Martial Law within the room. When the Principal (acting School Principal Mr. G. arrived to check on lesson plan when teacher was absent due to certain ailment) he used to ask if we need a substitute teacher but we don't need it when I was there to handle it with flying colors. My teachers are good and they were disciplinarians. They followed their own guts, they are smart, they know how to teach. Those were the days. No problem when I was there at school, besides were all children of soldiers. We are all smart! No doubt about it. Bragging? It's not bragging when it's the truth. It runs with DNA. If you like RNA that too, the message should be in order. No haywire. No cheating. Peace and order. It was Martial Law. Children and adults follow the rule of law. When you follow the rule of law, it feels right!

I could tell you the long detailed story but who cares? Everyday is a new day. Everyday is a new topic being revealed. I could tell you every name but do I have to? I have a very long memory.
Rote system had taught us that memory is of vital importance to your mind to your well being because if you didn't follow the rote system when you were younger nothing will stick and you probably will have dementia at very early age. Your medulla and brain cells can no longer be stretched as if eraser had erased your own existence. Your schools and other educational institutions will soon vanish, extinct, demolished, caught on fire, damaged by earthquake, or has expired or nowhere out but your memory lives forever. It's good to have memory. Don't tell me that only computers or your photo  memory cards  have memory. Everyone has a memory.

Boring Observation

How time flies... it's already Thursday, March 14, 2019 and tomorrow is Friday. There is not much to talk about or discuss in my blog today. I am running out of stories. I think this place we have is one of the most boring of all. The only entertainment is watching TV and the use of computer a plus. It would be nice if we have a pet that we can walk on the street because just walking by yourself or walking alone is so boring too.

Once in a while have to walk outside at the backyard, do the inspection on those shrubs, the berries are not sprouting its green color leaves. The clematis hasn't shown any sign of spring. The trees are still the trees where species of birds have nests to come home too especially the eagles. The eagle is not home yet but I notice the clouds in the sky on the background so I snapped such picturesque view.

Icing on the ground shown on the above picture 4 days ago. It was sunny today so any sign of frost is gone. Let say April 2019 is the month favorable for planting the bulbs (tuber) and the seeds of pumpkins, bell pepper and bittermelon. I'm not sure whether the bittermelon (ampalaya) will grow on this kind of soil and weather.

Look at those crocus flower. It's not saffron. Probably it's from the family of saffron. Two tiny feathers from a bird, don't know what kind of bird had its shedding of feather on the lawngrass. Maybe from a seagull.

It would be nice if the beach is just steps away from the house but a walking distance from us meant 5- 8 minutes for us to walk across the street to the highway down to the shore.

What The Hell Just happened?

A lot of news yesterday and today. The NEWS NETWORK is buzzing with brand new news. News that affect  everyone of us and mostly those people who are involved in the schemes and scams. Too many fraudulent news stories and too many who are scammed. How true are the news of today? Are they real or fabricated to make those "involved famous?" Or it will make them infamous once they are already in jail? Shameless or they just want the limelight to themselves?

O-M-G! Some people are using the news network sometimes to have their names get written in the Book of  Who's Who and Why.

When old, ancient manuscripts were unearthed what do you think the archaeologists and scholars discovered? There are hundreds of manuscripts of prisoners whose lives  were historically preserved. Unfair? Those murderers, killers, rapists,  thieves, liars, tyrants whose lives are supposed to be forgotten from history are the ones who were  preserved by the Scribes for the next hundred to thousands of years. Crazy!!!!!! Well with exception for the trials of Jesus Christ who suffered without sin because the sinners would like Barabas out and Jesus replaced him to suffer in the Cross. Crucifixion is part of the punishment for criminals during the Roman period.

Remember when that infamous football player who allegedly murdered his own wife and the litigation end up on TV courthouse. News on TV, newspapers, magazines, internet never stop buzzing for years and years and some people are still talking about OJ until now even if he is out of prison, even if he is found to be not guilty due to circumstances that the cop was a racist. The information technology had preserved this man and all what had written will someday shock humanity in the future and I hope he wont end up a saint.

Let us discuss what happened at THE GOOD DOCTOR played by Freddie Highmore (Dr. Shaun Murphy). It was season finale last Monday night. Darn it. My daughter had the chance of watching the final episode: Trampoline at about 10:30 pm instead of 10 pm because of blackout. Sudden blackout!!!!!!!!! All of a sudden without a clue, hint or it just happened. There's no storm, no gusty wind, the weather is perfect why that blackout? Even the streetlights were off. The city suddenly had a blackout! What the hell happened? Power grid or power trip?

It's strange, like stranger things. lol. So,  30 minutes of the story, the dialogues we never heard of. Shaun was lying on the hospital bed. He was bedridden and the hospital staff didn't know what happened to him. Dr. Clair Brown did her own research at the time when Dr. Murphy collapsed from the patient's room. The focus of the camera was on the patient's neck. So white? So clean like a mannequin? What? Whatever! Anyway, Dr. Murphy had a speedy recovery. Dr. Glassman has returned to the Panel Board, had the vote for the return of Dr. Murphy to the OR and the Hospital president (Harper) had the second demotion and another doctor (Lim) and that left Dr. Han (Daniel dae Kim) unable to say no because his decision to fire Dr. Murphy is unfair. He saved many lives during the "quarantine" at a time when those doctors at the Hospital cannot do their job properly. It's just that they lost Christopher Cross and saved the black Santa Claus. lol. j/k. The very last part of the scene: I first thought the bouquet of flowers and box of chocolate is for Lea but NO. Then he knocked at another house and when the door opened he abruptly asked the woman (who that?) for dinner and when the woman said yes,  his childish reaction was evident and got away laughing at what he did, still holding the bouquet of flowers and box of chocolate. Life is a box of chocolate, you'll never know what you gonna get. Yeah, that's Murphy, very childish indeed. I don't know if Freddie is autistic or just the character he played for "The Good Doctor."

CONNECTION sometimes played a huge part in acquiring employment and recently some researchers are employed to check on credentials of  students wanting to get into College and Universities. Connections help some people received awards and scholarships even if they don't deserve them. When will the orderly arrangement of things without connection can lead to "individuality" without the means to connect one thing or connect one person to another? A person's individual skills and knowledge without the help from another person determine the person's own intelligence. Why always the "team effort?" Cheating to get what you want or it's the purpose and aim in life transcends to a greater purpose of solely CHEATING and DECEPTION. The Holy Bible foretold such revelations of magnanimous proportions. If its the Holy Bible we have to follow the result will always be the same. It will be the same every year. It will always be the life and death. The Old and New Testament. Disobedience from the very beginning to the end. Nothing's change. You come from the dust and to dust is TODAS!

Talk & Gossip. It's the norm.

Is gossiping good for you or bad for the soul? Truth is...it's really good for you. People need to talk in whatever language that those people can understand. People who stop talking are sick inside. They usually have problems with the heart and lead to stroke and heart attack.

You have to talk people who needs people.

Look, too many autistic humans in this world. The ratio is now  1 in 50 with autism. Children who are in dysfunctional families talk better than children who live in a non-verbal couple and couples who never fight. Children need to hear people talking instead of watching dramatic sequences on TV.

It's okay to talk and gossip. We are humans and gossiping is part of life. People who gossip are happy, contented people. Who cares if they are talking about you and you are the topic of their discussion. Don't you have other people such as friends and relatives to talk to about those critic? Everyone's a critic and you'll learn from criticisms. If you don't learn anything, wala ka na talagang pag-asa.

We live to talk not to be consumed by guilt and insecurity. As the highest form of humans we can conquer what bothers each one of us and through the talk, to the gossiping you can tell how each one use their minds and how each one of us use the power of reasoning. Talking helps relieve the hurt and pain instead of keeping all the things you hide inside. It calms you down. Yeah, calm down and keep on funding. LOL. If you are being used for their pool maybe you can benefit from such "pool." You can watch DEADPOOL 2 the movie. It's an action/comedy so you'll enjoy that film for sure.

Now what? There are many humans who cannot accept the fact of what they've been through because they are not used to opening up. They think when they open up their innermost feelings they are betraying themselves or backstabbing others. No. That's not the case. They want a whole group of people who can manage to stand by what their words and action can do to make them feel great and owned that what happened to them is an act of God or just pure coincidences.

Who cares if its shameful. You are ashamed of yourself? Let them gossip and do your part to have your turn to gossip too. All is fair in love & in war. There are two sides of the coin. You can choose the tail or head, it's up to you. Yung mga walang hilig sa tsismis kunyari lang yan. May mga nakakahiya lang silang lihim or takot lang yan. Yung kakapalan nila na mangdaya dahil cheaters sila. Yan ang hindi nila matanggap. I don't accept cheaters. Yung mga corrupt na walang konsensya, yumaman dahil sa kawalanghiyaan, wala na talaga silang konsensya. Pag pumasok yan sa simbahan tiyak na masusunog sila.

It's sunny today but not warm enough to start gardening. It would be nice talking to plants, to a cat or dog. We missed Freddie the cat. I wished I have a beautiful, white hairy himalayan cat or a white hairy maltese. I don't really like an all hairy black cat. No way.

Health & Wellness

I seldom call anybody through the landline phone. Actually our landline telephone has no use anymore. Ha ha ha! Anyway, I used it to call my sister who lives in another part of the city where I live. I want to know what's happening at her place and also to know if she already recuperated from the operation done on her knee last January 2019. Thank God, she is doing better and her knee is much better than before and stitches ok and knee has healed and she is doing her therapy by exercising in the pool. What? I was shocked! Really?! I can't believe that the therapy is on the water. Swimming pool has chlorine, it's chlorinated water on the pool! But that's the required therapy.

Her other leg and knee is hurting and she will have to undergo a knee operation later. Wow! WTH!
She told me that there are too many of them with the same kind of  ailment and doing the same therapy at the pool. OMG! Whatever! She has two daughters who are nurses so who am I to tell her that being on the chlorinated pool and the therapy is bad. I'm not a doctor and I'm not a nurse. So, maybe they are wiser than me eh? I'm only a graduate of Economics and I should be an Economist. However, I worked in a prestigious Pharmaceutical Company (noon)  and done voluntary work in the Hospital when I was younger. I read Medical books and of course I have a mind of my own.

 I think when it's time to NOT be a pushover. When you think a cure or therapy is bad for you learn to SAY NO or ask for alternative. Seems like a good story for THE GOOD DOCTOR. { How Dr. Murphy can stop a surgery or operation after finding through the Pathology Department analytical/lab test that an operation is not necessary?}

Modern therapy. I think there is that unusual therapy that I watched on TV, it was a movie starred by the talented actor Robin Williams (who committed suicide, R.I.P). Some therapists have unusual and unorthodox way to keep the patients happy forgetting that they are really sick and that the therapy works is like a placebo effect that helped keep the patient busy with something else forgetting about their hurt and pain. It's more of a psychological approach to conquer pain without the use of intensive care.

Last night, I was thinking of renting a movie DVD then opted to just watch a free movie entitled WARM BODIES. Extraordinary kind of zombie movie. The living dead were separated by a great, tall concrete wall and on the other side of the wall was group of the living survivors. One of the dead (zombie-looking younger man in his 20's maybe) fell in love with one of the renegades after consuming her boyfriend's brain. I know that's weird. However, Har didn't consume the girl. He didn't eat her alive.  Only in movies, where stories are untrue and unbelievable. After the flesh-eating session the zombies started feeling like humans. lol. You wished that's the story in THE WALKING DEAD but that television series is morbid and crazy. The movie story should end there with a twist but then they have a problem with the group of bones or those walking and running skeletons who were chasing them. What happened next is of course up to you to find out and watch that movie too. Truth is that's what happened during the Cold War. Or could be the Berlin Wall.

Did you know that watching TV and movies as a form of entertainment can also help you forget about pain?  In BC Hospital the use of  Virtual reality cameras are on trials to be used by patients undergoing surgery to ease the tension and pressure or to calm the patients. Know what? Those ocular Virtual reality cameras were used by Hell's Kitchen contestants and has affected their vision and of course made them vulnerable in performing their task as a cook.

Up to now, there is that group of people still in search for Anastasia. When in fact they are actually looking for anesthesia and honesty.

That's Entertainment

It looks warm outside but the temperature is  0 d C. Our heater at home is on and tend to lower the thermostat heater when it gets warm enough. The gas fireplace is ok now with the new ignition to spark the fire and disconnect the two wires when the heat is not necessary at the living room. Why? It's because it was an old gas fireplace and the thermostat doesn't work. It wont be long when we wont need the heater and the fireplace. 15 to 20 degrees Celsius is the favorable temperature inside the house.

Nothing much happening with us around here. I don't get out because there's nothing for me to do outside and I can't start the gardening because it is cold and look at those daffodils that were planted in autumn, their growth are too slow because of the snow that covered them for the month of February. I think the favorable time to plant the dahlia bulbs will be at the end of March 2019 or mid-April.

Remember a time when the snow doesn't stick much on this part of the island because it's closer to the beach. However, that was a thing of the past. It turned out that the snowfall we had last February is somewhat different and the snow is much thicker. Yeah, hard to deny that weather is really unpredictable. Mother Nature has a way of making us question the banality of certain events especially when it comes to controlling the weather, the climate, the environment and the global warming. What will happen next is of course the onset of powerful hurricane, tornadoes, flash floods, thunder and lightning which is a part of the consequences leading to the natural occurrence and changes from winter to spring. We all know that. What we don't know is to stop it.

What else is new? Watch TV and you'll know what's new. Big Brother Canada will have its premiere season tonight with its brand new BB House complete with all the accessories, setting for a Bond movie (?) OMG! It's more like a SPY game house. Entertainment Tonight host Roz Weston tried how to escape from  the glass cage. Looks like fun in that house eh? ET host probably is a Houdini brother. LOL. He was able to escape in just few minutes while the female host can't escape and still trying to find the right key until the show ended and she is still stuck inside the glass cage.

Then the tattle tell "Women Tell All" show last night, part of the show for THE BACHELOR (Colton Underwood, American football player) who jumped out of the fence from the set of that show because he was heartbroken? By Cassie? Or he was feeling like in prison in Portugal? Weird show. It's like THE CIRCLE where all the cameras grind showing every move of the people within the show. It's REALITY TV SHOW. They signed up for it. I think everyone who signed up for this kind of reality tv show are aspiring actors and actresses. If you're not in it for the drama then you have to get out and have another career.

Too many reality television shows nowadays. SURVIVOR show has the same kind of theme, being almost "naked" on such shows just to win millions of dollars. What would be next? AMAZING RACE of course. Too bad that THE BACHELOR show doesn't offer that million dollar prize. Ha ha ha! The question is who is the lucky woman who will be engaged to Virgin Colton? Find out next week, Monday night at THE BACHELOR.

AMERICAN IDOL 2019 also started last Sunday March 3 with judges: Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan with emcee Ryan Seacrest. I think for the televiewers to appreciate the contestants better, they should sing popular songs (POP music) of the 80's, 90's and stay away from the music of Kanye West and Bobby Brown. Stay away from the music of  "doctored" or "fixed" sound effect to make the singers sound like they can sing. If the sound is good then we'll probably just listen to the sound of instruments without the music and lyrics of song.  Be realistic. The people who watch TV nowadays are mostly Baby Boomers if you know what I mean.

Next? What's up SEAL TEAM? No new episode yet.

You're right, the cheapest form of entertainment in Canada is watching TV. Actually not cheap. To rent a DVD/Movie is cheap for $1/movie. However, how many movies you have to watch though?

Is It Superiority Complex?

Long time ago, CONNECTION is the fastest, easiest way to acquire employment. However, "guilty by association" can lead to unemployment.

Long time ago... references are part of the requirement in applying for a job. Nowadays, it's better to apply with the conviction that you are applying for that job because you are qualified for the job. However, being over-qualified is not a sure thing to being accepted in the workforce. I don't know the true essence why and how an employer will accept a worker in this new generation of millennials. It depends upon the qualification and job openings or job vacancy if there's any.

Most of the time, the newly graduates accepted work based on voluntary basis. Volunteer. Being a volunteer, working without pay. In few peculiar situation it's the newly grads without work experience paying the company to gain access to work to that company provided that they will gain extra knowledge and extra experience that will benefit them. It would only be through a long thread or process.

String theory. You can be employed maybe, provided that you are a genius and your God-given knowledge will ultimately benefit their cause. As in, you are like the Einstein of this Millennium era. Or perhaps you are the new modern Watson. Whatever!

Perhaps you are a grad of prestigious university, that too will help you land a job but with the many upstarts and burgouise inside the workplace where to turn to? Work according to the job category or description being asked for you to achieve the goal and socialization comes second. Work with confidence and obey the boss not your co-worker for they have their own job description, follow the code of ethics in the workplace and mind your own business as much possible stay away from gossip and gossiping. Respect elders or old people, respect your boss and respect yourself.

I don't know if you follow the television series THE GOOD DOCTOR. Although, Dr. Murphy was assigned by Dr. Han  to the Pathology Department of the Hospital, working efficiently and has helped the surgeons in the operating room when he was asked the correct procedure about certain delicate operation on a giant tumor ( Dunno how that patient had that humongous tumor on his stomach and how that tumor the size of a baby elephant got stuck on his body is beyond me. Why they didn't have the operation when the tumor was the size of a ball? Real strange! Of course that's fiction). Murphy was upset that he can't use scalpel and his dream of becoming a surgeon is futile. He went to talk to Dr. Han after the operation is finished and he told him he wants to be a surgeon instead. Dr. Han informed him of the benefit of being a pathologist which is his expertise or specialization as he has the vision of an electron microscope. He can see minute details of internal organs from its veins to how the blood flows through the arteries and other parts of the human vital organs (human anatomy). Dr. Han is just an ordinary surgeon with limitations and Dr. Murphy is best suited to something microscopic. Dr. Murphy insisted on his own opinion, yelling and almost about to breakdown and Dr. Han told him that he'll call the security or be fired from work. Darn! Insubordination? Do you think a chief surgeon has that power over another surgeon to replace and demote another surgeon? Well. Dr. Murphy is a resident surgeon, not a surgeon with vast amount of experience in the O. R. Who is the scriptwriter? Who are we to contradict the script and the will of the story and the director. We are just TV viewers.  We just have to be patient and watch for the continuation of the breaking points, breaking moments on how Dr. Murphy can fight the struggle of  superiority complex in the workplace. Maybe if he was not labeled as such, if he is not autistic, and autism is not a factor to the demotion. Actually in fairness to the world of Modern Science, Pathology is of greater importance in the scientific study of organisms, minute as it is, microscopic and that deals with research  and finding the cause of ailments and disease and how doctors and surgeons can better perfect their skills in surgery, operations and the treatment of disease through the help of pathologists. Surgeons can't do their job properly without asking first and foremost the pathologist, med-tech,  x-ray technician on how the proper procedure would be at the operating room. Surgeons knew their job but it depends on the result of biopsy test whether a surgery is necessary.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Being autistic that he is, he bypassed the older well experienced surgeons and that also the cause of the "so called demotion." Maybe it's better for Dr. Murphy to just follow his guts and just work on Pathology Department in the same hospital. Dr. Han is played by Daniel Dae Kim and he is also one of the executive producers of THE GOOD DOCTOR. Acting experience? Daniel was one of the lead actors in the TV series Hawaii Five-O. Why he left Hawaii Five-O? Do you like Murphy leaving The Good Doctor series? lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The stigma of AUTISM can lead to troubles in the workplace or it just happened that it's a factor leading to a label hard to erase. It is the mental challenge on both normal and the not normal maybe the superhumans got something to add in that kind of "tenacity" egocentric of human lives. The autistics can see what you can't see and they can hear what you can't hear. They can see vital cues. Darn we all should be clueless instead. As I said, follow and obey the boss who is older than you. Be respectful of the superior, well experienced workers in the workplace. Learn from them and learn from their techniques. I know you'll benefit from the skills they are willing to teach you. Learn to compromise.

Welcome March 2019. Welcome Springtime!

Negative 4 degrees C. today, this morning. It's sunny but it's cold outside. That's what it is with the weather for the month of March. At least it wont be that much colder unlike in February. It would be shocking if there's a snowfall in March of 2019.

Husband started to weed-out the stubborn wild grass at the front porch where those daffodils are. Stalks of daffodils about 3-4 inches can be clearly seen from the flower bed. Along the fence at the backyard, would you believe there are thin slate of snow, not melted yet because the shadow of the fence have the snow hidden from sunlight.

As I gazed the sky this morning a bright light from the right side of the sky ( don't know if that's the north or south) but I think that one big star is actually the planet Venus. Then the sun comes out and realized that the star which is actually Venus is located at the eastern part. LOL.  Venus is a planet and it becomes a star because of its visibility size from being seen on Earth. It's bright, it sparkles, its radiant and it's pinkish. OMG! That could be the ISS (International Space Station) or one of those satellites floating in space. Nobody knows until you are in Venus and you are looking at planet Earth. You can use a high powered telescope and be the Galileo in the modern world and you''ll see the spectacle of dust as if the dust-cloud theory is everywhere all along the telescope you are using is full of dust.

So, it's still cold. Our gas fireplace is haywire. The fireplace only ignites fire for only few minutes then off for the rest of the day. Hey, we're paid for using that kind of heating. Husband called the gas company. I think he also contacted the landlord. Anyway he fixed the switchboard after so many days of waiting for the fireplace to give heating the usual way. He also bought a non-programmable thermostat to replace the old one. Too bad it didn't work. Later, he found a way to have that old fireplace works better, the unusual way. WTH! You know how you can a start a vehicle without a key? That's what happened to the non-thermostat and the fireplace is back to its normal function.

And because March is still cold as ice and the advance Spring-thinking doesn't work because Spring time according to the calendar year begins on the 20th of March 2019. The celebration of Saint Patrick's Day is on the 17th. Commonwealth Day on the 11th day and DST begins on the 10th. There's no stopping birthdays, anniversaries and festivals of all kinds.

Thinking in advance or following the Calendar? It's your choice whatever agenda you have in your life.

Doll Fest? How about my painting of these dolls?

Something Sweet Is Never Cheap!

I asked my husband to bake a peach pie because he is a better baker than I am. I have a problem making a pie crust but it's easy for me to make the fillings for the pie. He didn't say a word. He didn't say no, yes or okay. Nothing. He was quiet while seating by the table playing solitaire.

In my thoughts, it's economically cheaper to buy a peach pie or any kind of pie at the supermarket than create a pie from scratch.

I went to my bedroom, watched a boring show until I fall asleep. When I woke up at a time when I was about to prepare and cook something for dinner, I noticed the Thrifty Foods paper bag on top of the table and it was torn apart and inside the bag was the receipt.

Cheesecake $23.96 (4 pcs.) and

Bar cake vanilla/raspberry flavor $15.99

 + 5% GST 1.20

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This federal tax of 5% is added to almost every transaction for consumer goods and services. Groceries are the major exception (but note that non-food items bought in a grocery store are subject to GST, and that "junk food" such as pop, chips, and baked treats purchased in quantities less than 6 is also taxed).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Total: $41.15

What?  O-M-G!

At least my daughter will eat a cake with icing on it.

A Strange Way To Entertain Us

I really have a headache! I couldn't believe it. I didn't suffer any headache and migraine for such a very long time (like 5 years) until now. I had two extra strength Tylenol caplets this morning. It's a different kind of pain though. I don't know what it is.

Whatever it is...I hope it wont last.

So let's continue the blogging session. A lot of new news had happened through the internet and through the television news network we usually watch everyday. Some stories are unbelievable and don't know whether it's the true, honest news or sort of fabrication. News such as: The former lawyer (M.Cohen) of the US President Trump was grilled by many US politicians who are also lawyers. This is at the time when the US President was having a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and their summit is being held in Vietnam. Vietnam is still a Communist country, dude! Wow! Weird right? What are they thinking?

How do you like your US troops fighting in Vietnam and then the Americans demoralized the troops, the platoons while being confronted by Communists people? Then, that's what happened long time ago in the War in Vietnam. Tragic loss of lives. Part of which was made into movie PLATOON. Do you still have your POW in Vietnam? Not that we know of.

Maybe they are to produce a movie. Maybe a book is being written and to be published later.

For a change of tone: serious to comedy. We watched a movie "The Spy Who Dumped Me." It was hilarious actually. Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon played their  parts/roles pretty well. I mean the two of them becoming "spies" in this action/comedy/suspense gave them the boost to try one more time with feelings because they are real troopers and they can make us laugh. Kate, we know Kate McKinnon is superbly a genius when it comes to providing laughter in the number one hit show "Saturday Night LIVE." The extension of her comical act is through the many movie roles she played with ease. Easy peasy as pie. Do you have pi ratio?

What Is Affordable?

It's funny how those politicians think that $2,000/month rent is affordable. Are you kidding me? Start including the many utilities in renting a house. What are those utilities? The heating: electricity, gas heat, plus the maintenance of the yard, the maintenance of the house having to buy cleaning supplies. The connection of television, internet, telephone, or option for cable/satellite dish. Are you not eating food? Food supply for ordinary family per month is $1,000, unless of course you want to eat fastfood at A&W, Wendys or McDonalds every morning or dine in at Moxie's, Cactus Club, Olive's Garden, Riptide, or the Red Lobster's or to any sushi cafe. But dining out will have you at a budget of at least $3,000/month.

With the lowest minimum wage of $12/hour in BC, what do you think of those millions of workers to be able to pay monthly rent of $2,000? They have to pay other things such as their car insurance, gas, car maintenance and supply (tires), they have to pay their medical and dental care unless if workers have those benefits provided by employers. Not too many employers provide free medicare and dental care.

What else? Oh, I know these politicians have the best of both worlds and they are in luxury of working for the people because their annual salary is rocket-sky high. Imagine they receive salary up to $100,000 per annum. They can afford to own a luxurious condominium unit in their urban community and can travel around the world but of course using people's tax money.

Nobody can afford that $2,000/month rent of a house. That would only mean the tenant will have to starve or use the availability of food bank. If the tenants have kids? I don't know how they can afford. Just a supply of baby's food and disposable diapers will land them into poverty. Why the population of Canada is low? Nobody can afford the high standard of living! Many couples would rather be childless than having to suffer poverty. Smart move?!

OMG! Thinking of those poor people gives me headaches. I should just relax and draw something here.

There are human beings who starve themselves, almost to death just to fit in to those lovely, gorgeous party ballroom gowns. They will have to economize, starve feeling anorexic because a popular designer's party gown is costly ($10,000- $100,000). The cheapest designer's gown probably worth $5,000 (almost worth an expensive diamond ring). For some of these women they wont eat for a month just to buy what they want and probably wont be able to buy any other things. You know be smart, you can buy slightly used ball gowns because you only have to use it once. Or sew your own party dress.
