Happy Three Kings!

As if I have no other thing to do and I had this digital painting made of the Holy Family: Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus plus the Three Wisemen or the Three Kings: Melchor, Gaspar and Balthazar. The three kings brought special gifts of gold, myrrh and frankincense to Baby Jesus.

We all know about gold. But myrrh and frankincense?

Myrrh is a word derived from Aramaic language, it means resin or gum extracted from small thorny trees species of the genus Commiphora. Myrrh is used as fragrance, perfume, incense and medicine.

Frankincense is a resin from the genus Boswellia and used for incense and perfumes. Its essential oil is used as aromatherapy for pain, inflammation and to boost immunity.

Very strange gifts for a baby!
