I love pineapples!
I couldn't believe that my daughter also like pineapple now because I remember she doesn't like eating any kind of fruit unless if its juiced or in milkshakes.
For every fruit salad prepared in Philippines or around the world, pineapple is always in the mix or content of such famous delicious fruit cocktail salad: Dole.
The fresh fruits not only great for fresh salad but also can be used in the wine making, fermentation process for certain soy sauce, or anything for barbecue sauces, specialty vinegar and other concoction. The fruit is also used in the bread making, pizza, cakes and pastries. Have you tried pineapple empanada? It was so good and one of my favorites. Hey you can also have it as ingredient for pies. Pineapple is also used for many Filipino dishes such as sweet and sour in pork, beef and seafoods. For hassle-free just carve the fresh fruit and get rid of its bark-like skin and eat the flesh of pineapple, sprinkle with salt and it's yummy good.
What to do with the fiber (fibre) of such very remarkable fruit pineapple?
Did you know that the fiber of the leaves can be used as yarn? The process in the making of such fiber turning it to desired string and ropes. You could make them into many different usage such as spinning and weaving those long fiber thread derived from such indi leaves. You wont believe how amazing those textiles or fabric made from pineapple. I for one thing had a very precious baby dress that my Mother bought long, long time ago made from jusi or pineapple fabric. You can weave the fiber and turn them into many handicrafts, crafts you wont believe ever exist but because of ingenuity and hard work of so many experts in the weaving industry for raw materials something out of nothing becomes extraordinary and worthy of praises and of great value.
So, if I were you... there's no need to snob pineapple as it is surely one of the best fruits deserving of a crown.
