Twenty years ago, I was confronted by a neighbor who happened to be the manager of the rental apartment building near our house, asking me if we have vacancy at the townhouse complex. I said, "no we don't have any vacant units for more than a year." She the older woman was kind of pissed off that people keep on calling at her office non-stop looking and in search of housing facilities, any vacancy whatsoever that she knew where those hundreds of people can stay, live in this city. Then she asked me, "do you like having more people in this city?" Wow! Why asked me? She should have asked the mayor of this city. I am not the planner of "this city" when it comes to its economy and political standpoint. She was staring at me like it is my fault why too many people are coming to settle in this city. For God sake! Build more affordable houses and apartments.
When the pulp mill closed down and shut down the main "industry" and big businesses shutdown what else could replace those businesses to augment the economy? You cannot have an already civilized city abandoned and become a ghost city. Well, that happened in many progressive, highly industrialized cities in the US and Russia. Hard to believe that but it is what it is when main investors stopped the civilization of such city or cities then it could get the stamp"abandoned."
So what if it becomes a "tourism industry" promoting the natural landscape of this city? Or what could be happening if its the stamp abandoned or evacuate? Choose your karma.
First, do no harm. Do not let greed empowers your mind. GREED IS LIKE A VIRUS.
The standard of living in Canada is sky high. Rocket sky high! There is always a rocket being fired.
How are you to afford a $1,500 - $2,500/month house when utilities are not included? You have to pay for gas, electric, insurance, medicare, dental care, gas for vehicle, insurance for vehicle, TV, Internet, Telephone, + the basic needs such as: FOOD (groceries), cleaning supply, clothing. Then if you have bigger yard, the maintenance for the cleaning, beautification of the yard (grass cutting, weeding out, gardening, pruning, lime sprinkling, use of fertilizer optional, water sprinkling for the yard-rehydration).
Or search for apartment size house to live without the need for yard maintenance. That's $1,200/year less of the bill for yard maintenance if living in the apartment. Ha ha! that's already the annual tax for the house if you own the house. Opssi, didn't include the gas for the tractor which should be $1,200/year x 2 = $2,400 for the yearly yard maintenance. Because the price of gasoline will increase this year and at present time $1.39/liter price hike. It's day to day gas promo. Politicians should promote GAS & OIL instead of the vaccines. Would you believe that our children since 25 years ago had vaccines and it all started from when they were born and nobody,no Canadian ever question what the brand name of such vaccines and where it originally came from nor who are the manufacturers of those vaccines. ONLY NOW that Canadians and every human on Earth that those vaccines for Covid-19 are produced by pharmaceuticals from Germany (Pfizer), USA (Moderna, Johnson & Johnson's), India (AstraZeneca). Everybody had flu shots since 20 years ago and yet nobody asked where those vaccines came from, what brand names...it's just that YOU HAVE TO ASK and it is maybe because sometimes it is best to be nosy and curious. Even educated people question almost everything whether they understand things or not. It is through inquiry that one can be informed and help informed others. You just cannot just say yes to something you don't know or aware of.
I didn't really intend to be a farmer so the hell with bigger yard. I think if you want to be a farmer you should move to Black Creek. No pun intended.
Live up to your "means" or by the earnings you earned. Okay, that's what we are doing anyway. But the greed of this covid virus is so rampant. The hurt and pain of this covid greed is so evil and everyone is affected. Millions to billions of people are affected and is more like domino effect. DOMINO EFFECT.
Wealthy people from other countries and from the mainland would rather seek the opportunity to live in smaller islands converting it to the RED ZONE or Retirement Place. No major industry being put into place yet we have movers from other bigger islands. We're not in the red zone yet so we probably better to move into the next color which is better option.
One day you are rich, the next day you are poor. There are millions of dead from covid. You cannot predict the future. At least there are 7 days in a week, so maybe one day you are lucky and one day you are not. It really depends on luck. It's not chance that determines your destiny.
