The property owner sent a message for the tenants to be aware of the spring-summer pressure washing of the exterior walls of the townhouse where we are currently staying and that includes re-painting of the walls. The pressure washing was finished but the painting of the walls not finish yet. Looks like the painter was called on something else to do.
I asked my hubby why he didn't accept the job instead, the contract was once his job when he was the former resident-manager of another 31 unit townhouse. My hubby's retired and he is doing part time job only to keep him busy.
My husband told me to be patient and not complain. The other tenant had complaints but you know, we are just tenants so I think we cannot raise our complaints on some other things. Just be happy that we have a place to live and we are paying our rents on time. Actually our rent is higher than what those other tenants are paying. How that happened? The size of the units are the same. We are using our own appliances, they have their own appliances provided by the management.
That's what it is now with housing or rental housing in Canada. You don't have a choice. There is not much choice to choose from. There is a choice for houses for sale ranging price from $500,000 to $1 Million. There is always a choice for rental homes price range of $2,500/month rent to $5,000/month & utilities not included. If you include all the utilities that $2,500 will be added with $2,000 for utilities. So, you must have a monthly income of $ 6,000/month to live in a frugal way. If you have no kids and you are earning $6,000/month (monthly income) do you know the deduction after? Actually, After all deductions you only get half of that monthly income. $3,000 is what's left and you have to pay the rent of $2,500. You have to end up in the line up to the food bank and walk to work. Of course nobody will rent a $2,500/month house. Nobody, even if they are brand new house. Some people will just buy an old house for $250,000 and have a mortgage of $1,000/month or less.
Who are the rich and wealthy people of Canada? I remember former PM Harper once said, he himself live in a modest house and so Canadians should live in a modesty level. I wonder where PM Trudeau lives after they vacated the Rideau Hall? Who lives at 24 Sussex Drive? Sure is, after the pandemic and the wildfires... so many Canadians are homeless. Unless of course if they have property insurance. The government officials should think of building more Government Housing: townhouses, apartments, sixplex, duplexes that are affordable for ordinary Canadian families. That's what the government project should be. HOUSING PROJECT. The population is growing.
The minimum wage for Canadian worker is $15/hour and some workers work or allowed to work 4 hours per day and in order for workers to earn more they have to work in other workplace. The works in Canada are seasonal. Some workers are laid off after summer and rehired back at spring time to summer jobs. Benefit for temporary workers? None. Benefit for seasonal workers? None. So many workers do not receive dental and medical benefits, nothing. They have to pay for their own medical insurance. Whether they have temporary work their paycheques have deduction and they have to pay taxes.
HOUSES not House. HOUSES are form of revenues. Housing project is profitable.
The Government is of the people, by the people, for the people.
The People need homes.

Then the additional burden of having those refugees coming? More houses to build? Or they will only build houses for the refugees? WTH.
Tsk! tsk! tsk!
TOTALLY WEIRD & totally B.S.
