In ECONOMICS, buying and selling is great when the population is bigger, from buyers to sellers to consumption of goods to its distribution. That also true when they follow the law of supply & demand.
That's why the UK & Canada would rather choose China & India as trading partners. China & India known for having billions of people in population. Who says that a large population is a burden? Population of people is the greatest manpower, the natural resources any country could have.
China & India were both great trading partners of the Philippines since the very early years 1400 before the Conquest in 1521. That doesn't stop until now currently trade and commerce still in effect.
Anyway, on the negative side, some countries would rather have low population that they end up at war with each other causing loss of lives. That's a lot of crosses.
