RETURN TO SCHOOL

STRESS & PRESSURE during the BACK TO SCHOOL. Parents do have some upsetting and rewarding moments during the first week and or first month of the back to school program. If all school supplies are bought, new clothes, shoes and school bags (backpacks), lunch boxes and fare or allowance are met nothing to worry about. For the well to do no problem. But for the low income families all those expenses could lead to $500 to $1,000 and that's money too precious to let go because that's already a month or half month's grocery. for the family's daily food budget. The good thing about here in Canada, there are too many public schools even the Middle School, Secondary and Senior High are without tuition fees to pay. In private school here in my community, there are only about 20+ less than 30 students. Would you believe that? Too costly for some parents if they will have their kids in private school that's why however much attention are given to those students. They have the best facility, air conditioned (good heating)  and well maintained for convenience and maybe standard of teaching is higher. Who knows right? You have to be in that private school to know and experience the standard.

I was educated in Public School in Elementary and Private School in High School. Not much difference actually, except that all the students in my school were sons and daughters of soldiers. We live in the Military Camp so that's the school we attend to together with my neighbors. All my siblings (4) and I were graduates of the same private school except for one brother who had chosen to be in public school which is sort of a relief for my parents.

Yeah, I know how some parents feel about budgeting during the days when school starts to function the first month and months to come because I am also a Mother. I volunteered in my children's school many years ago. Then later told myself I had enough, working at home, working at the Creekside Village as "cleaning lady" where my husband managed (before he retired) and working at the local Chinese Restaurant... too much work, too tiring and  I don't like being a "Helicopter Mom" at my children' school. I was also a substitute teacher when I was in Elementary and student-teacher when I was in High School so I know the method of teaching and how the school runs.

You'll ask me if there's favoritism in the Class? Teachers have favourites, that's true.I don't know what it is but when I was a student teacher, I like smart students who can always answer the question, always in perfect attendance, polite and courteous not causing trouble. Of course the "gifted or the clairvoyants" What about them? Oh, you wished there are many of those who are exceptionally outstanding, you know what I mean? But sometimes good character is the best. Your kids attitude will always reflect on the parents and parenting whether you are racist or a bully. However, when they are old enough you cannot control what goes on because they have a mind of their own, they have peers, barkada where they learned being "street smarts."

In the world we are living right now, we only can hope and pray that children nowadays should have good role models to mould their character, follow righteousness because God knows what those crazy lunatic leaders who are there on TV for everyone to see, watch and heard of how bad the world now and it takes one push button and doomsday END OF THE WORLD AS WE  KNOW IT.

It's the end of the world as we knew it ... and I feel fine.)))))))
