I'm almost finished loading the 5th loads of laundry in the washing machine. Too much loads of clothes for a day eh? It happened yesterday when I was looking for my daughter's Halloween costume and I touched some of the clothes hanging from inside the closet. Oh my! All those clothes: dress, pants, blouses, shirts, skorts, jeans and square pants are actually cleaned before we moved here in this house last March 2021. Maybe because they are all in the hangers and not been used so they are dusty. Of course those clothes can accumulate dust like anything in the house such as furniture, beds and bedding. That's why dusting off everyday is a must. What I did is to wash again all those clothes in the closet. Whether I didn't wear those clothes or my daughter didn't wear those pair of pants and shirts then better to wash and clean them in the machine.
I remember the time when I was working in HK and my employer will change all the summer clothes from her large closet and have those winter clothing re-arrange and hang those autumn-winter clothes instead. What happened to summer clothing from the closet will be thrown away or given away especially the small sizes that wont fit her body anymore. Most of her clothes are "designer jeans, coats, tops and fancy party sexy dress." I was the recipient. I only had chosen clothes that would fit my "girly body." If she was sexy slim, I was slimmer. I was only 94 lbs. (Vital stats: 32-22-31). Yuck.
Because I was not that wealthy compared to her, I don't really throw my clothes away or give anybody of my clothes. Oopss, I think had given some of my clothes and my kids clothes to my nieces and nephews. They were clothes worn once or twice, not really old clothes. It's just that my kids had outgrown their clothes so fast. Clothing and accessories (belt, shoes, bags) are very costly in Canada especially the designer ones. Even the unknown designer's clothing are expensive. Most of the fabric or textiles in Canada are imported from other countries. Before, Zellers, K-Mart, Woolworth's the place to buy clothing but these department stores closed down already many years ago. The only big department store that you can purchase affordable clothes is at Walmart. Mark's, Reitmans. Too bad there's no more SEARS! 😢😭
You can buy clothes from specialty stores but they are mostly made for seniors. Or you can go to Ukay-ukay in Salvation Army or Hospital Thrift shop where some richy-classy humans take their old clothes for donations or at the consignment shops.
Hey, nothing's wrong with ukay-ukay clothes. How many times some shoppers fit in new clothes at the department stores. So many times. How much dust those clothes accumulated from being on display in the store for more than 6 months or a year? That's right, same thing.
So, with your dresses, blouse, shirts, pants hanging in your own closet for 5-6 months and you are not wearing them please clean them and throw them in the laundry machine and freshen them up or keep those old clothes in your luggage or vaults so that they wont accumulate dust.
