WHAT YOU WILL LEARN FROM WATCHING TV?
There are too many critic when it comes to watching TV. Those critic might call you a TVholic or Couch potatoes. What they don't know is TV as an indispensable tool for learning.
TV HAS THE LEARNING CHANNELS. Featuring HISTORY, ECONOMICS, STOCK EXCHANGE, POLITICS, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, SURVIVAL, NEWS STORIES & INFORMATION LOCALLY & AROUND THE WORLD - Current Events, METEOROLOGY: Weather Networks, COOKING CLASS - Culinary Knowledge. DOCUMENTARIES. Anything you want to know: TRUE STORY, UFO, or FICTION. Cartoons for ENTERTAINMENT: Movies, TV Shows, Series. SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY on HOW ITS MADE. TRAVEL & LEISURE, GAMES, MUSIC... Way too many knowledge for minds to absorb.
How about those suspense, mystery, horror shows or series?
THE WALKING DEAD taught you about Holocaust, about war of zombies and how to survive just in case. How community battle with zombies, survival with limited supply of food and weaponry. How to survive against humans without remorse or moral compass not just against zombies. In Walking Dead no matter what you had or intelligence or occupation you had and if you wont use it properly you wont survive.
FROM the new horror series on TV. How different humans from walks of life were "chosen" to live in a mysterious isolated small community and how they will survive the monsters at night? How they could use their intelligence to find their way home. Forget about the DETOUR or circling around the highway just ax the fallen tree out from the highway to exit. How they could use their knowledge and skills find supply of food, to build antenna, create a transmission device to send messages outside of their very remote area as in they were trapped in limbo. Who are the lazy people? Well probably they are not lazy, just that they are very depressed, sick or what could be in their state of mind? It's a matter of day to day survival. HOW TO GET OUT? The lead characters always busy trying to find ways on how to get out. FROM series is almost like being trapped in a laboratory or concentration camp. The old Chinese woman -the mother of Kenny at least is very much sane despite of all the depressing events, the death of her husband, still she can function good and be the cook for everybody in that Diner.
Tonight's the continuation of SURVIVOR. What those contestants learned and gain from being a contestant to that popular reality show? Did the knowledge and intelligence helped them? It's almost like or more than skills of being a Girl Scout or Boys Scout without a tent. They've been stranded there in an island and still nobody has ever build a shelter with roof, walls and floors using the raw materials in that island. Nobody has dive through the ocean to gather seafoods for them to eat always relying from the food offered in the games they have to play. How they are to use the power of building a fire. Is that hard? Not really!
UPDATE: It was RACHEL the winner in SURVIVOR. She played Survivor before. Was she that girl who joined Survivor in previous episodes? She was younger then...uhm, maybe just her look-alike.
Watched the SNOW WALKER movie. The pilot and his indigenous woman passenger aboard the airplane on flight to Yellowknife but then plane crashed somewhere in a remote region. Nobody knows where they are. They have to survive. Good to know that the Indi-woman knows survival skills and made lots of effort to prove her worth even if she is sick. The sick saving the healthy pilot? What kind of movie this one? Even a person is sick but if that person is mentally healthy, strong and intelligent you can never go wrong. Sad ending though.
WHAT TO LEARN FROM COMPUTERS?
To be continued.
