HOT, HOT HOT so hot today at 29 degrees Celsius and our electric fans are rotating non-stop. While too many Canadians are out there having so much fun, watching the parade, music fest, cutting of the huge cake, watching the woodcarving contest, riding helicopters, sailing at Discovery Passage and what else they could be doing. My family used to attend Canada Day celebration at the downtown area in this city but you know how hard to find parking space. Its more than occupied and that's why its better to walk going there...only if you want to walk. It's HOT! You'll get dizzy.
OMG! Too many reasons not to. Husband is busy watching the baseball game from our TV. He doesn't want to miss the game between Toronto Blue Jays vs NY Yankees.
I am not into Sports. I'm not a sporty person even when I was in Elementary, HS & College (University). I must admit I was more indulge in the Arts, and when I was in High School I was a member of the School Dance Troupe dancing folk dances & Choir Group(We won in the Choir- First place), then in the Cheering Squad (Second Place). CAT or Citizen Army Training is required so I took the test and passed and I became a MEDIC. There's always a TEST in all schools in Philippines sometimes they were surprise tests. When I was in FEU, my PE subjects include: Modern Jazz, Board Games (Chess, Puzzles, Solving Codes), Gymnastics, and Aikido - Korean Self-Defense. I joined extra curricular activities because of my friends classmates who want something extra. Duh! It's not that we were lacking the marks in the Academics. My peers were all smarts. It has something to do with an escape from house work!! LOL. Just kidding. It's being in unity with friends who are good friends.
Those were the days and they were all fun days despite of the many adversities. Too many books to memorize. I had fun memorizing some botanical plants and its scientific names always have perfect scores way back then but "now" only one rather two that I can only remember zea mays and rosa simensis.
I remember memorizing a "speech" intended for us to report at the front of the Speech lab. However our professor was unable to arrive on that day because there was a political rally/protest at the front gate of the University. Guess who came to substitute? It was Mrs. Aquino! She asked each and everyone of us what is our ambition and what we'd like to do in the future. When it was my turn, had my speech ready and she listened attentively and asked me of the same question after. She laughed when I told her that I want to be an Economics or Financial Analyst or work for the Central Bank.
Oh well, that was funny eh?
And who would have thought, she will become the first female President of the Philippines.
Those were the days... memorable days, months and years...
Note: This drawing of a lovely fairy was given to Rachel.
Fairy Godmother, would you like to grant my wish? LOL
Whatever! HAPPY CANADA DAY!
Now where's the fountain of youth so that we can all live forever?
