THE HIGH COST OF LIVING IN CANADA. That's the problem here being the core of the issue. Where in the world where one bedroom house rents for $2,000/month and utilities not included. In Vancouver, Canada. Standard of living in Vancouver is super high. To include utilities per month that could be $500/month. How about your car and insurance, food and other bills to pay? For a single person he or she must at least have a take home pay of $6,000/month. However as you probably know that each worker has to pay their tax, OAS, CPP, WCB deductions from the monthly pay that sometimes the take home pay or earnings just amounted to half of the $6,000 which is $3,000/month. That's the reason why. If you are single that's ok but what about those with families and with mortgages of $3,000/month?
3 bedroom house + 1 1/2 bathrooms, garage, workshop, big yard that was only $1,500/month in the year 2016 to year 2019. However when COVID or the pandemic struck or had hit Canada, the price of houses, rental or mortgages had rocket-sky high. Those 3 bedrooms had soar up to $3,000 to $3,500/month. Its more like they are following the standard of the "millionaires and billionaires." Well Americans & Canadians,majority of human population are low income and middle income people. The Billionaires are just 1% or not even 1% of the population as in they are the endangered species. Millionaires and billionaires should not be used as the "real standard of living." Because they are full of baloneys! Let us all face the truth. We all live on planet Earth with the living not in imagined bubbles of high society and socialites.
So blame the pandemic, blame the high inflation, blame the GREED, the predator, that creeps up every home owners who want to make lots of money for striving humans. Wait a minute, why those homeowners, townhouse owners, condo and apartment owners to be blamed? Its the property taxes and sky-high bank interest that led to price increase including the high cost of commodities.
Facts of life that no amount of wage increase can lower the price of houses and rental homes, condos and apartments. Because once the government increase the wage, the rentals and mortgages have price hikes too. That's how crazy it is. Crazy stupid.
Government can increase wages and STOP the price of commodity hike and stop other things to go up. Owners of condo, apartment and townhouses should and cannot price hike every time there's a wage increase. Over priced products? Don't buy it! You know better.
I woke up early today to start my vacuum however my husband stopped me because it's too early to do it. 6:30 am is not that early but if you live in a townhouse you have to be polite not to cause any noise to other tenants residing in between your home. That's right! I can do the vacuuming of carpet and laundry maybe after 9 am when they are awake. How would I know? Darn! So my very early morning sometimes get wasted.
