It is getting warmer each passing day here at my place. According to my weather temp. gadget that is only 8 degrees celsius outside , 20 celsius inside the house. However, the heat of the sun is above us yeah might as well state here that is sunny here not cloudy. It's almost summer time. Hubby already cut the grass outside the yard not waiting for the caretaker to do it because the grass mostly dandelions are almost above knees in height and the flowers had withered and they are cause for concern as pollens have allergy causing effect. I don't know what the plan for that yard actually because hubby's not the landscaper here, he is the yard maintenance in two townhouse complex in another part of the city.
Summer solstice starts in June 21, 2022. But it's getting hot. It's okay though because there are more works at summer time than winter and autumn season in Canada. Most works in Canada are seasonal by the way unlike in other countries where works are non-stop and the only rest they have are holidays and weekends. By the way long weekend coming as Canadians have to celebrate Victoria Day on the 23rd of May 2022. Then Memorial Day on the 30th for the US.
I don't think we'll go for vacation nor leave the island for the holiday. It's impossible as that looking at those long line ups of travellers using the BC Ferry, my God! I don't know where they get the patience to get in through such hassles. Patience is no longer my virtue. But you know, most Americans love to travel in Canada. Too many tourists wanting to see different parts of Canada. Canada is their summer vacation place. Good that I was able to see the whole British Columbia then Alaska and what so great about it is the wide open spaces, mostly mother nature at its best. I've been to Alberta but only for few days and was not able to see the biggest mall in Edmonton. Darn it. I would like to see for myself the Royal Tyrrell Museum where they showcase the ancient dinosaur skulls and skeletons.Yeah for real. Dinosaurs once roamed the earth and on special place called Drumheller.
Panning for gold? Barkerville's the place to be. Enjoy the 18th Century setting. If you want to feel European atmosphere then visit Victoria, BC. Victoria is famous for its botanical garden Butchart's.
When I was in Hongkong, what I admire over there are the modern skyscrapers as it blends with ancient setting and atmosphere of what could be old ancient Chinese culture. While in Philippines the only admirable settings are the vast setting of rolls and roll of beautiful textiles by the tons. I love fabric and sewing accessories. All the inexpensive clothing, street foods, inexpensive sandals, shoes and slippers of all kinds and styles and the haggling. Don't you like haggling to get the discounted price for every commodity? The beaches in Philippines are mostly crowded. Whether you'll enjoy it or not depends on how early you book your flights and settle just in front of the beach with your umbrella and chairs.
I don't like crowded places. I don't like lining up to get what I want. Simply, don't like inconveniences. I don't like frowning and wrinkle my face and be whiney and curse at all the inconveniences of what life is all about. The hell with it. I am not that young to be at a place of discomfort and ruin my day if you know what I mean. So I don't know what those old people are doing getting in at all discomfort and inconvenience just to escape and away from their own homes. Well, I know some of their stories as in ESCAPE from their reality.
