Would you believe? That the Cenaculo or Passion Play of Christ is no longer one of a kind in Philippines! Jerusalem, Israel had it this year's Holy Week when they had a procession: a man dressed as "Jesus" carrying a cross on his shoulder for the "Crucifixion" followed by mass of people who witnessed the solemn rites.
In Germany, Lebanon and other parts of the world, a Passion Play is being held too leading to the point of "Crucifixion."
How and why this sacred Crucifixion is being imitated or copied now is beyond me. Did they ever witnessed the Passion Play, Cenaculo or Penetencia (Penance, Penitence) in Philippines or just that to make amends they are doing this as means of forgiveness of sins?
I know, somehow people are curious whether you'll die from crucifixion or experiment on the cause and effect of being nailed to the cross. In the Philippines, don't know for sure if the crucifixion is real or not but somehow I remember that a documentary I had watched on TV had the "man" nailed on his palms on the spot where it was bored or nailed before because he was the first and always the "Filipino volunteer" for the Cenaculo and the nailer had to nail his palms on the very same spot. Just that they make sure not to hit the bone and not for him to over bleed and lose blood and die. Of course there is always the presence of medical team just in case. After the Crucifixion or after the Passion Play, all the cast has to swim on salty water beach in their province. Salty beach water can heal the wound real fast.
For those who are mystified, what really happened to Jesus Christ was different from the imitators. The Crucifixion of Blessed Jesus was not staged and it was real. He was punished under the scrutiny of Pontius Pilates and within watchful eyes of the savage skeptic sinners who would rather have Barabbas out from jail and the continuous humiliation of Jesus by crowning him with crown of poisonous thorns, he was whipped all over his body until he was black and blue and bleeding. He carried the heavy wood of cross up to the Calvary where he was scorned one more time, and when he asked for water to drink he was given a bitter sponge drench on him and one Roman soldier stabbed his lower abdomen oozing more blood dripping from the fresh wound. The nails on his palm and feet are just not ordinary nails, they are made of iron with nuts and bolts used for concrete building and construction. The soldiers want to make sure that he will die.
HOLY WEEK, HOLY THURSDAY, GOOD FRIDAY, and now BLACK SATURDAY. Tomorrow is EASTER SUNDAY.
💓 HAVE A BLESSED EASTER EVERYBODY!!
