It's when I don't have money the "gazebo" I was looking for is on sale. Wrong timing! Better luck next time then.
Besides, my husband wont like it anyway for the backyard. I have too many things I like, the list goes on forever.
I remember when I was employed and earning the extra money I need and can buy whatever I like. Truth is it's really good to be employed even if you are married because you have something for yourself and you don't have to ask financial help from the husband. I know. When I was employed (long time ago) I was able to help financially, bought a car Ford Taurus (not new). I wont be able to buy a brand new car. Not too many people can buy brand NEW CAR! Nobody has instant $25,000 - $50,000 CASH unless if you win a lottery or you are a politician or you are a millionaire and billionaire. The rest of the world are supported with credit cards whether they are rich or poor. It's great to be in poor countries where they still believe in the value of cash. However, you know that's great only when if you want to haggle products as bargaining or for easy transaction. I wish to haggle as a form of buying, makes me happy. j/k
I bought two area rugs carpet for our kitchen and living room. I was able to buy 2 hardwood bookcases. I bought a unique, antique China cabinet. I was the one buying school supplies and clothing plus shoes for my children. I can buy my special Filipino food (ingredients to make Filipino dishes). It's my money I'm using for buying my own clothes, jewelry, shoes and bags. Those were the days my friends... from the good old past. The monthly house rent and utilities my husband pays for all those. I think that's what it is with married human beings, the priorities are at home, food, utilities and all the basic necessities in life. For the children, for the family first and foremost!
Since I was unemployed, have to rely on handouts from my husband. Yeah, that sucks! In Philippines that is normal. Actually, if the husband is not handing out the money, the wife has legal rights to take the husband's wages direct from the workplace of the husband. I know that's ridiculous right? LEGAL RIGHTS when couples are legally MARRIED! That's also the best possible way to find out if the husband is having an affair. OMG! It seems like an old movie.
However, I am not that lazy when I'm unemployed because I contribute in cleanliness and orderliness of the house. Cleaning the house and office is also a decent work. Did you know that if you will ask a professional cleaner or janitorial services to clean your house you are looking at $ 12.75/hour minimum wage for the cleaner. I'm not paid for my housework of course. Mothers are not paid for their work at home. It's great for Mothers to work and be paid for their work outside of homes however if the child care is over the wages you will earn from work it's better to stay at home and be a good Mother to your children. Looking after and caring for your children is much better than the amount of finance you will earn and let your husband be the breadwinner. Just my honest opinion. Living a simple life is healthy. Once in a while it's okay to admire some other people who can afford the lavish lifestyles of the jet-setters who travel around the world and flaunt their richly glamorous lifestyle as if they are millionaires maybe they are... but admire the billionaires like Bill Gates and Zuckerberg who are not fashionable or flaunting their wealth they don't have to because they are known for their billions of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ what to show off they might want to hide actually. The real well to do people HIDE not flaunt their wealth.
