My daughter and I looked for hibiscus or any plant that's worthy of our taste. It would be nice if they have chiffon hibiscus (gumamela). It's hard to believe that a tropical plant can thrive in this island but maybe this island was once a part of the tropical island in the Pacific. It still is in the Pacific unless if it moves every turn of the century or every hundred years.

or blue hydrangea, maybe cherry blossom tree, or mandevilla. I asked the old lady at the Garden Centre if they have hibiscus. I asked what color of hibiscus they have. She didn't reply maybe my voice is not loud enough. Then she showed me the plant with flowers on it already, it was beautiful but it's not hibiscus, it's a camelia. LOL. We searched for perennials and annuals, there are shrubs and bushes and small, younger trees of blossoms (cherry blossoms of different variety) and there are over 4 ft. tall of blossoms trees and they are worth $90+/each, there are also fruit-bearing younger trees planted in gallons and pots. I would like those cherry blossoms trees. But... you know the purse belongs to my hubby. We're in Canada! The purse belongs to the husband not to the wife.
There are too many to choose from actually when it comes to pretty, good looking annuals and perrenials.
My husband likes the rhododendron or azaleas because of its purple colored flowers. I don't like those plants. He went inside the store to buy some other tubers and plant food. Outside the store, at the yard where all rows of plants: perennials, shrubs and annuals are located... I spotted hydrangea, there are variety in different colors (purple, crimson, white). The clusters of this variety is not shaped like a dome but an upward cone shown on its tag. It's weird. I was pointing at it when I asked my daughter to take pictures of me. I already had chosen one hydrangea in white color and then my husband arrived and had chosen his own plant with already buds on its branches visible to our vision. Only to find out that it was a white lilac when I lifted the tag. Yup, make sure to see the TAG first in buying a young plant with no leaves, no flowers but only branches and a small trunk. At first, I was disappointed then later I was relieved and happy to have known that lilac is better than hydrangea. I mean, lilac is fragrant, its blossoms have long lasting fragrance and also a beautiful flowering plant.

It's too early to see hanging baskets of mandevilla and petunias. March is too early for the search for tropical plants especially in Canada.
