Ars longa vita brevis
Art is long, life is short
Well, maybe LIFE IS LONG, ART IS SHORT.
LIFE IS LONG to do and create more crafts.
In my miracle pond of youth with floating kalachuchi (plumeria) flowers and you wished it's a fountain. The plumeria bell-like flowers reminded me of my childhood in the old Church in the province of Quezon. I usually gathered plumerias at the back of the Church to submerge the fresh flowers on the ceramic basin being hold by the life-sized statue of the lovely Angel. The female Angel stood at the main entrance of that Church. We used to dip our hand on the basin with holy water to make the sign of the cross + upon entering the Church as the sign of respect.Every image I posted here on my blog has a definite particular story that reminds me of something. The above image of the lily pads had something to do with an episode of Tarzan wherein they filmed a special scene where giant lily pads are visible and I was amazed of its size and would love to have something like that on our family's tilapia pond at our front yard wayback in the 70's. lol
Giant Elephant Ears? In the Philippines, I remember my grandmother had giant taro plants and the root crop is a giant too and she cooked it with sweetened coconut milk, sago, sweet camote or yam, ube, banana, and jackfruit. What we do with the taro leaves? They are used as wrapper for special stuffing of smoked fish, ground pork, shrimps, salt/pepper, shredded ginger, onions, garlic, coconut cream, then wrapped and tied and simmer it with coconut milk. Yum!
Beautiful taro leaves... green heart shaped.
Don't you wished you have a bakery with all the sweets and good mouth-watering stuff in it? From buco pie, vanilla-ube cake, blueberry pies, empanadas, mamonluk, hopia, pandesal, pianono, tengang-daga, swissrolls, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, buttertarts, donuts, bagels, long bread, etc, etc.
I wished we have a bakery. A cafe and a bakery.
