It was Thursday morning when all of a sudden my right leg bothered me. My right knee was in pain especially when I moved it abruptly. Whenever I bend it I can't help screamed in pain. This is the first time it happened to me and I thought I had osteoarthritis. I can walk there's no problem but I was limping. It's okay when my leg is just in straight position and if I don't move or touch my right knee. I was able to get out of the house on Friday but walking awkwardly and I cannot bend my leg.
Thinking of many reasons and cause of how and why my knee suddenly was so sore, in too much pain. Why? Did I eat something that caused it? I did not suffer any fall or had an accident. I took one Tylenol capsule. I fell asleep for an hour. After an hour search through the internet of what to do. I tried the leg exercises and hot water therapy. Saturday, I was doing leg exercises. Every hour have to do those required leg exercises and showered in hot water. Now, this morning the pain is almost gone!! Yey! My leg and knee are back to normal. MIRACLE!!!! Thank God!!
Maybe my knee joint was just dislocated or something. Thank goodness I'm good now.
Today is Sunday, cooler breeze early morning. Cooler breeze at 20 Celsius. Wow! How that happened? Looks like it will be a sunny weather today. But you know how unpredictable weather is just like how winds help in the spreading of raging wildfires.
Watched early morning news: Canada's PM was invited by Pres. Zelenskyy of Ukraine on their 34th Independence from Soviet Union (1991) (Chernobyl Nuclear disaster in 1986, 39 years ago).
Well, it's nice to know that Pres. Zelenskyy is wearing a traditional embroidered polo shirt for a change. (almost like the Philippine's Barong Tagalog). Looks like portraying a better future for Ukraine.
Canada has at least 3.5% of Ukrainian descent or of Ukrainian ethnic backgrounds meaning there are at least 3,500,000 Ukrainian-Canadians here in Canada. I remember when my family traveled from Prince Rupert to Campbell River to visit my in-laws, there was a department store at Shopper's Row wherein Field's the retail store was selling mostly Ukrainian products. I bought at least 3 blouses with embroidery on its necklines. I didn't realize they were of Ukrainian's ethnic logo or identity because I also remember that I asked my sister to embroider my V shaped blouse with flowers and butterflies way back in 1982 because I like wearing those kind of blouse with beautiful embroideries. Then one of my classmates in University (FEU) asked me, "Where you from Verna?" Huh, I was stunned. I told her I live in Fort Bonifacio. Then she asked me again, "Are the people there wear the same kind of clothing?" Wtf?! I almost asked her, why can't you speak Tagalog? We are in the Philippines, duh! I'm a Filipina, who are you? You keep talking to me in English. Akala niya taga ibang bansa ako. Akala nya the way I dressed I am not a Filipina. By the way, the University where I graduated had too many foreign students: Americans, Canadians, Chinese, East Indians, few Japanese and Koreans and few Iranians - mostly enrolled in BS Medicine. Iranians wanting to be doctors! Far Easter University is the best University if you want to enroll in Medicine and Engineering. Of course Economics is also the best of the best. The former Pres. Corazon Aquino was also a grad. of Economics in that University. There were two VIP graduates of Harvard University who were my professors in Psychology & in English (Literature & Technical Writing). Do I still remember their names? Ha ha ha! πππI should... you know they always called me for recitation and oral report. Classmates told me that it was easy for our professors to remember my family name that's why.
At one time, my subject in University - Pilipino professor (Mr. A.V.I.) asked me, "Are you the TRUTH and nothing but the Truth so help me God?" The whole class laughed. When did my family name become a laughing matter? The next day, Prof. A.V.I.'s nephew handsome guy, mestizo, met me and introduced himself as Theophilus San Pedro. He told me, "Verna, know what? "My uncle "was once a priest" that's why." And I can't help laughed. LOL.
Note: If you are not a Filipino, you wont find that funny. If you are not religious you wont find that funny either. But you know what? My professor was a highly intelligent human being, honest and kind, humble with great sense of humor and had a Doctorate in Philosophy (Doctor of Philosophy). He should have been an Archbishop if he didn't leave priesthood.
So many memories, so many long stories.
Once again my flashbacks coming out of ying- yang.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!π
