WONDER WHY I love PSYCHOLOGY as a subject in my blogs? Listen, I have a very long story to tell you...rather written here so just keep on reading.
AT VERY EARLY AGE something very extraordinary had happened to me. I wont tell you that. That's a SECRET.
Here is what I have to tell you instead. I love the study of Human Behavior, love ESP or Extra Sensory Perception. I was already studying Human Behavior at tender age of 6. Having to study and learn Humanities is nothing but observation, taking down notes, more observations, analysis, assessment, and perception. I always have a pen in my hand. If I am not into drawings I will write anything based from observations. That's why In Elementary my handwriting is almost equivalent to High School. I like visiting my parents working in the military hospital, and everyone there are part of my observations. Everything including the famous "White Lady. " Unfortunately, I haven't met her. I include the American Cemetery which was also part of my term paper in University under my Philosophy subject. I know my Philo professor found it hard to appreciate what I had written calling me, "Eusebia...tsk! tsk!." Too mental for my professor's mind to absorb depths of paranormal. The odd name had sparked laughter in the whole class. My classmates didn't know that I have two names. They only knew me as "Verna."
"Life is a limpid pool beneath a star showing reflections from afar."
Oh well. How many ghosts she had seen in her real life? Maybe nothing sort of. I had encounter with ghost-like creatures! I just don't know if they are aliens or angels. Sixth Sense movie is nothing... I had seen a ghost!
Why we study Psychology and why we study Philosophy and Humanities? Is that sort of commercial or just extra advertisements to pay in University? Hmm... It's a very challenging subject worthy of studying and learning.
You know, first thought when I graduated in High School and received 94% NCEE (National College Entrance Examination) Test result and had good marks in HS opted to take exams in UP Diliman (University of the Philippines) together with my awesome amazing classmates:Violeta (our HS salutatorian, now working as Anesthesiologist) , Cynthia, Josie, Me of course and Carmen (our Valedictorian, Marine Biologist in Australia). However seeing how huge and acres wide UP and buildings far apart from each other I was reluctant then. I took exam. I passed but because I had chosen to enroll in the BS Psychology which is a Quota Program and there are many students who were enrolled earlier! Wow!! Really? How that happened? Anyway they offered BS Veterinary Medicine course which is NON-QUOTA PROGRAM. BS Psycho Course is FULL. Tell me why Psychology majors way too many in Philippines? Is there great demand?
Why would I like Veterinary Medicine? Why would I like to work in the ZOO or Farm? Why oh why? The only pets we had were cats and dogs. Do I like horses? Do I like cows, pigs, goats and farm animals? In the 80's there is no Veterinary Clinics in the Phils. You don't take pet dogs and pet cats in the Clinic. They seem to never get sick. They ate the same food that we eat. Nowadays, look at the million of dog treats in variety available in supermarkets. Pets are treated like royalty and have to have check-up every 3 months by Veterinary doctors. Vaccines too much costly vaccines for pets! the good thing about the pets nowadays are they are free of rabies.
I enrolled in FEU. I asked my friend Josie that we should take BS Psychology then while waiting and waiting for the long line of thousands of students queuing at the registrar's office (paid tuition fees for First Semester- 1981), no subjects were left available for the intended Course in the line where Luz & I end up having with few choices and end up taking subjects for AB Economics. Darn it!! What the hell just happened? Yeah, yeah that's after watching the popular, famous movie STRIPES of Bill Murray. Regrets? I have few regrets. I felt like disappointed my friend Josie whom I asked to take a course in BS Psychology with me so that we could be seatmate again in College. Josie & I were seatmates in High School because we are seated alphabetically. Our family name starts with letter V.
TO BE CONTINUED.
