The cheapest dessert is banana!
Would you believe? That's my own opinion and for some people will agree about it unless if they have something in mind that's 100% free. You don't have to buy as in given free by some generous humans who own plantation of fruit trees (plums, apples, cherry, grapes from vines).
We once reside from a house with a garden of berries: raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, red currants. Then we bought blueberry shrub and loganberry to add to those group of berries at the garden. That's instant dessert and very fresh.
Once a month my family enjoys a bowl of fruit salad derived from canned fruits that were purchased from the supermarket. Walmart carries a big can of fruit cocktail in 2.84 liter and inside every can has variety of those sweet fruits: sliced tidbits of pineapple, papaya, mangoes, pears.
You can eat ever pieces of those sweetened fruit tidbits direct from can if you are that thrifty but if you would like to add Nestle' cream and condensed milk to sweeten it up for your palate then try it. It would be more superbly appetizing if you can add nata de coco, thinly shredded coconut meat and chill it in the fridge. Thinking...this is the best fruit salad ever.
Yes I'm craving for something sweet and exotic. I would appreciate a plate of cassava cake right now or blueberry cheesecake. But right now don't have those important ingredients so I will settle for just a scoop of vanilla ice cream and mix it with frozen blueberry fruits to add zest. 🙋🙌
