IN THE HISTORIC TOWN OF BARKERVILLE
THE GOLD RUSH just happened. An 18th Century historic town of BARKERVILLE was preserved and restored for all Canadians and tourists alike who would like to see for themselves what it feels and look and experience the nostalgic past.
Barkeville town has all the restored buildings, houses, Church, post office, restaurants, pharmacy, gift shop, bakery, market, entertainment theater, all what comprised an 18th Century atmosphere for everyone's delight. It's more like a "time travel back in time."
Here we are trying our luck, panning for GOLD. Yes! We found gold!! Yey! We both had a gram of gold on our pans and the shop owner had them filtered in a transparent vial (2 grams of gold) for us to take home.
Look at the houses. They almost looked like those buildings in Clint Eastwood & John Wayne's movies.
With those two gorgeous shopkeepers who are wearing their costumes as I asked them for photo ops which they courteously obliged. Thanks so much ladies. I bought two ceramic elephant with dainty gold plated arts on its body. I think it was made in Ceylon. Inside the ceramic elephants were small bags of specialized tea leaves and mint leaves ( I didn't drink the tea since I bought it, used the elephants for decor on my cabinet or for my collection of elephants) also purchased a small butterfly made of genuine BC Jade brooch.
Time for lunch and we had our seats at the Chinese restaurant full of people from different walks of life. It was kind of noisy though, people talking loudly in different languages as if there's a "tower of Babel happening" super busy there. We ordered grilled trout and baked salmon with butter and lemons + steamed rice +vegetable salad + lemonade +pop. No dessert for us. We have to move to our next plan. We want to stroll more and find out what's happening in every buildings there. We stopped at the theater, there was alive performance sort of vaudeville and cancan like entertainment.
Fascinating 18th Century Mail Service cart: THE ROYAL MAIL. Once again found a corner where I can sit and pose for the picture. Well, it happened so fast and off we go for the nest destination sort of the "leisure walk sort of pilgrimage" Can I call it AMAZING RACE? Because partida yan rather bonus I was preggy with my baby on this amazing race! LOL.
AT LEAST HAD PROMOTED CANADA ESPECIALLY BRITISH COLUMBIA WITH MY SEVEN DAYS TOUR OF BC. Well done! Magnifico!
How about you what's in your bucket list? Probably climbing MOUNT EVEREST is one of your target eh? There is no other mountain worth to conquer than MOUNT EVEREST, the highest peak in the world!
